Rand has my vote in 2016

I have heard plenty of people on here talk about Rand like he is a Mitt Romney and it disgusts me. Rand would bring in a lot of what all of us want people! Balanced budgets, troops home, auditing the Fed, reduction in the size of govnt, etc. Im sure he wont tickle everybodys fancy but hell people, who will? Wait, I forgot about the other Dr. Paul!

I would choose

Open Borders over a welfare state any day.

Rand Paul is a sly fox

Most Americans can't focus on words long enough to totally comprehend what's being said, and Rand knows this. He is a master of wordplay, and these old Republicans think that what he's saying is inline with their kooky old positions. They are all going to be Ron Paulers in three more years without ever even realizing what happened to them.

like an old schooler. :)

How we are going to get their attention is by winning. Every time I hear Rand speak, I hope Ron runs as an Independent. Synergy.

Amazing interview

Rand Paul is the only guy that can reignite the Tea Party Movement (bringing together righty libertarians and traditional conservatives). I am behind him 100% all the way to 2016. In my opinion, this set of positions coming from a brilliant and cool speaker like Rand would have won the Republican nomination in 2012.

Audit Fed
No welfare for illegals
Pro traditional marriage
No bailouts
NO increase of debt ceiling without balanced budget amendment
Of course no national healthcare

Open borders doesn't work

In Europe it has been a disaster of huge proportions, but hey open borders equals global Goverment. The idea comes from the far left wing of the Libertarian Party.

the libertarian party

the libertarian party wouldn't have a welfare state or a central bank. i'm unsure how sophisticated they are as in regards to corporations.

so migration would be another natural right.

From the Libertarian Party platform:

3.4 Free Trade and Migration

"We support the removal of governmental impediments to free trade. Political freedom and escape from tyranny demand that individuals not be unreasonably constrained by government in the crossing of political boundaries. Economic freedom demands the unrestricted movement of human as well as financial capital across national borders. However, we support control over the entry into our country of foreign nationals who pose a credible threat to security, health or property."

If you believe the USA is owned by the people, as I do, and not by the government, then nobody can give it away or loan it out to foriegners.

If someone snuck into Disneyland, they would be kicked out and banned for life. Without this policy, people who wait in line to pay will have to pay a greater cost those committing theft of services.

"Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty" TJ

does the libertarian party

does the libertarian party have a stance on corporations and multi national corporations?

i don't think they are sophisticated enough to sort that out.

whatever happened to delia lopez? she knew a lot about the rockefellers putting corporations into existence.

what does the libertarian party think about rockefeller-like corporations existing for selfish purposes? those corporations were unconstitutional. but corporations could exist on a 10 year charter if it was proven that they benefited the public trust, i.e., a bridge, a road, etc.

Doesn't they?

They works just fine for them what wants to cross them. As for "global Government" being an objective of The Libertarian Party, I guess you've read a different platform than I have.

By my reckoning, borders are a symptom of government, so no borders would more likely be a prescription for no government rather than for more.

dynamite anthrax supreme court white house tea party jihad

Free movement should be a

Free movement should be a fundamental right for any human being. Boarders and countries are what create racism and allow the welfare state to flourish. sheeple are what come to mind, better yet cattle.
The far left wing of the libertarian party? what the hell is that? I believe in property rights, I do not believe in governments.

The solution is simple. Grant

The solution is simple. Grant work visa's to anyone who wants them. They automatically go in the citizenship queue at the end of the line. If they make any use of public services, food stamps, ER visit, anything at all they immediately go back to the end of the line. So long as they use any taxpayer provided service, they may work, they pay taxes, but they may never become a citizen until they have been off them long enough to go from the end of the line to the beginning.

Closing comments were outstanding

Senator Rand Paul is principled. Yep!

I gotta ask..

A thought came to me a few days ago. What if Rand runs for the nod and Ron runs as an Independent?

Rand could end up being the bridge that closes the gap between 'us' and shifts the party line to our side. I personally do not believe he will sell us out. It is my belief that he wants to win and watched his father lose 3 presidential elections. He is smart and savvy. Should work on a sense of humor.. but doctors are very rarely funny people.(Did you know America has never had a physician as President? A home town doctor...?)

I stay involved because I want us to win elections. I was sold on the message in 07.

What do you believe it will take to bridge the gap between typical party people and the grassroots?

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

Ron is not going to run, even and an Indy

I think Ron Paul's presidential runs were to possition Rand.. Rand got 8 years campaigning experience, went out for Senate, got it first shot.. now he's saying he wants to be in the presidential debates, and you gotta know, he's in allready. Who is getting as much exposure as Rand in the GOP? Even Preibus is kissing and trying to make up.

Rand is definately shifting the party to our side. I don't believe he will sell us out either. Not at all. I think WE ARE THE FUTURE and those who are climbing on board are going to do well politically for at least the next 8 - 16 years..

Grassroots are issues people, many are one issue voters. They are terrible politicians, but really good people. Rand is not going to play them.

Rand is already for industrial hemp/industry
non- Bush doctorine/ pre-emtive war
Sound Money
Constitutional govenment

Rand is going to show a difference between Republicans and Democrats, and this is going to get really exciting because we've been learning the Ron Paul language for half a decade.

And I think it's going to be supporters like you and me.. I'm looking forward to putting the GOP back in the parades.. non-pre-emptive war.. hemp.. I want people to look at my float and say "WHAT? Since when is the GOP for hemp and against Bush doctorine?" I want them to wonder where they've been the past few years. And I look forward to local debates and letters to the editor.. It's us who will bridge the gap by doing what a lot of folks thought couldn't be done.. THANKS Ron and Rand!

Right on.

Thanks for replying.

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

I thought the same thing...

The good is that we see a view from a typical Republican. It was nice to hear the perspective from someone like him. Shows me that Rand is savvy.

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

He sounded like he was taking

He sounded like he was taking a different stance than Ron on the DOMA issue. Ron supports DOMA, and it sounded like Rand is opposed to it.

Ron and DOMA

Ron reluctantly supports DOMA as an effort to preserve state's rights and not for it's social position.

Both are for it being up to the states

At least that's what I got out of it.

I hate to say this but Rand can't win the GOP nomination and

definetly could not win a general election due to his constitutional conservative stance. The conservatives have lost, lets just face that fact Things could change along with some form of financial calamity, but, of course, there is no guarantee that would bring conservatives back into power. I will support Rand if he decides to vie for nomination and would vote for him in the general though. What will/would hurt Rand most is his past comments relative to constitutionality of the Civil Rights Act relative to property rights, limited government views and traditional marriage. The general populace has accepted big government and rejected traditional conservative views in the area of social policies. Human knowledge and power and subjects such as evolution spell the eventual death of social conservatives and Nixon's "we are all kensyians now" meant that fiscal conservatives will not come to power in the politics of the our country as it is now. Rand is on the losing side of both fiscal and social issues. However, I hope that he can keep his senate position because his views, to me, are important to be included in national debate.

The interesting thing about politics is how is shifts

right, left, right, left.. and I think Rand has a great chance compared to who is seated, least we forget, the largest voting block is Independent voters, who have no voice and the only choice is who the other parties nominate.

Don't go getting a big head over this, but I may possibly support Rand. But he had better start puckering up a little more or I will dump him like a bad habit. Not bad habit like a pack of smokes, I mean bad habit like the ones I don't do ;-)

It is too soon for me to tell, but he is somewhat on the right track.

Me a big head? ((((((((PAF)))))))))

I was just playing ralph hormsby my theme song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrBx6mAWYPU

Now does that seem like a girl with a big head?

You keep linking songs that I like. If you keep that up you will be giving me the right idea :-P

If we put both of our heads together..

Thanks Granger :-)

Good interview and he left very little doubt

that he'll be running in 2016 in my opinion.

He's right actually. I fully

He's right actually. I fully support an "open borders" policy, or a very straight-forward process for anybody to come to this country but I definitely do think we need to get rid of the entitlements we have.

That's true...

...but the solution then is not to close the borders, but to eliminate the welfare-state. By way of analogy, you can't smoke in a house doused with gasoline, but the solution is not to avoid smoking, the solution is to not douse your house in gasoline!
