Doug Wead & Ronnie Paul MLM Opportunity? W T F?

Is anyone else bothered by this email Doug Weed just sent out?

Doug Wead

I want to take a minute to let you know what I'm doing since the campaign. Ronnie Paul and I have started a new business venture together and a number of people in the Liberty Movement have already joined us as business partners. I'd like to offer you the opportunity to join us as well. We see this as an opportunity to earn an income while still having time to pursue our passions and our cause, as well as an ongoing way to support the Liberty Movement. I've always believed in multiple streams of income, and this is something you can do in addition to your current job if you choose. You would be working directly with Ronnie and me, and we would be excited for the opportunity to partner with you again. If you're interested in learning more, just respond to this email with a phone number where you can be reached and someone from my office will give you a call. There's some time urgency associated with this, so I hope to hear from you soon.

and btw Nystrom, wtf is up with this site changing my "wtf" in the title to "What?" you don't like what i type then don't print it....but changing it is bullshit

It was about 30 years ago

that a friend invited me to a "business meeting" at someone's house, coat and tie required. Lots of people crowded in a large living room. I sat there listening attentively for TWO HOURS when the speaker brought out a large, rolled-up poster. As he and an assistant slowly unrolled it, across the top appeared the word AMWAY.

Instant turnoff. My thought was, why the deception? If they had to sell this program for two hours before letting us know the name of the business then I wanted nothing to do with it. To each his own in a free market but I have stayed away from MLM since.

Ron Paul - Honorary Founding Father

Not at all bothered.

Time's are tough, MLM is just a style of marketing. You know what it is, no one is trying to hide it. If you are an out of work salesperson, this might be just what you are looking for. How is Doug to know if you are interested without asking?
Next, did you look into this product? I have considered buying it, and I don't need to lose weight. It looks like a well thought out nutritional supplement. Would you rather see them writing "tell all" books or charging outrageous fees to speak out for liberty? I think they are trying to give liberty minded folk notice that this opportunity is available.

The thing about an MLM is ...

It is all voluntary. If you want to play, you can play. If you don't want to, you don't have to. Doug didn't pester me or pressure me. When I said no, that was the end of it.

Just unsubscribe from the list. What's the biggie?

He's the man.

MLM = Fraud

My first experience with MLM was Amway, which led me to read the book "Amway: The Cult of Free Enterprise". I recommend anyone thinking about getting involved with Amway read that book. Since then people have tried to get me involved in magnets, VOIP, and even social media and the pitch is always the same pitch and it's always fraudulent.

Participation in scams is always voluntary...so calling it voluntary isn't exactly a defense.

Someone tell me what this business of Wead's is anyways. I called it MLM right off the bat without getting more info from him because I recognized it as such..but I am curious as to what he's selling besides dreams.

Then I'm calling BS on you.

You did not even look at the product before posting a thread complaining about what he is doing? Lame.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

right behind fishy

don't tell her husband....

It's just a phreaking marketing method. And it starts with friends and family and just like Thanksgiving, you don't have to eat everything on your plate but rather go back for seconds on things you like.

Bottom line is nobody is telling you you have to eat everything on your plate. It's Thanksgiving and YOU ARE NOT HERE FOR THE FOOD, THE FOOD IS HERE FOR YOU.

In conclusion, why don't you detractors STFU and get a life and stop being miserable curmudgeons for a change and go out and get your own business model together.

You miserable creeps. Sometimes you make me wonder why I love each of you individually and collectively no matter how socialistic that makes me sound. Fact is I don't care how socialistic I sound to you. Go ahead and call me a collectivist socialist and I might just drink another beer and throw the empty can away. Just for you.

Be brave, be brave, the Myan pilot needs no aeroplane.

Yeah, totally. Free Market Commerce is so like evil.

Doug Wead did work for Amway launching their international businesses. He was quite good at it and a lot of people dug themselves out of the trenches thanks to his efforts.

So yeah, F him.

For whoever down voted Chris

For whoever down voted Chris because you thought he was deriding capitalism, you might want to reread what he said while wearing your facetious glasses.

I don't think it was the last line that got those initial downs

the 'haters' probably agreed with that part.

The downvotes were for my defense of Doug Wead and his involvement with Amway. And his success doing so. Some people hate seeing others succeed.

And I'm fine with being weird. As far as I can tell it beats the alternative.

Bah. Chris is weird** anyway. (Of the weirdness I'd want MORE OF. DAILY.) :P

Almost as much as... Never mind. ;)

Oh, his comment had two down

Oh, his comment had two down votes. I voted him up, reducing two to one. Someone else must've up voted him since then. Maybe that someone was you? lol :-P

And, hey now, you keep that "want more" between you and your wife. lol

Hahaha! Ok, you got me.

Hahaha! Ok, you got me. Hmph!

I'll catch you on unintended puns when you'll try to convey thoughts in French... :P ;)

reminds me... was first year in the U.S... dear wife laughed almost to death when I reported her my male coworkers would feel uneasy with big smiles on their faces when I'd ask them if they could "ride me home" in evenings after finishing work late... (I wouldn't have a car)... instead of "give me a ride home".

3 years after, them guys are still laughing at it/me.

"Ride me home." LOL. That's

"Ride me home." LOL. That's just too funny, Lysiandad. When I read "ride me home," I didn't think "that" at first, but about a second later I thought "that" is what ride me home alluded to. Funny story, Lysiandad. You work with those guys still? Yeah, you might not be able to live that one down. :-P

I don't speak a lick of French. No, wait, I do, but I don't know how to spell it. I'll phonetically spell what I know how to say in French: Jway swee aw nawnaw.

When I was in high school, one of my best friends told me to say that to girls if I wanted to impress them. He said look cool while saying it. Of course I asked him what that statement meant. He told me and I laughed hard. So, I said that to a girl I liked while mocking one of those "cool" nods. She wasn't French but she was studying your language. She knew it on hearing it. She laughed.

Recalling that statement reminds me that I said it to a girl recently. lol. I told her what it meant, though. She laughed too. :-D

I thank Doug for waking up, but screw him!

Before I woke up I trusted him, like I did George W. Who I voted for twice, holding my nose the second time. I still feel bad about wasting that vote and have tried to make up for it by becoming involved.

And the best place I've found to see Politics and Economics discussed as well as current events is DailyPaul.com

And yes times are tough.

But I'm coughing up a fifty as soon as I finish this post.

I've been an organizer and know how hard it is to ask for money. It was so hard that I let a group die because nobody would stand up and pay the 70 bucks every six months to pay the dues.

So I'm getting in cheap and hopefully helping keep this site alive.

Thank you Michael,

Base, thank you

But don't trust anyone. Not me. Not even the one who's trust shall not be questioned. I can't even mention the name on this site, for I'd likely be hanged.

But when I mean no one, I mean, no one.

Each time, you have to let your heart decide. Your heart knows.

I believe Doug is sincere, and I wish I could be like that. In some way, it is a curse to be the way I am.

He's the man.

I'm not sure who you are talking about...but Doug said he and Ronnie were doing this business, and if by Ronnie he was referring to Ron Paul I think I will be physically sick. If Ron Paul ever has anything to do with a MLM company that'll be the day I burn my autographed campaign sign and vow never to speak his name again.

----just figured out it's ron paul's son. listening to an interview of wead talking about isagenics....says amway was selling hope....but claims this is different. he says mlm is tacky...well he's right there...this isn't capitalism .... it is fraud.

Isagenix not isagenics

That being said I will tell you about Isagenix as a real company.

Please understand that my heart is always full of forgiveness. And as I've said in previous posts, I recognize I've been a part of the problem by voting in people that didn't stand for my principles.

I was working as a network engineer at the time and living on a sailboat, thinking I could escape the idiocracy going on in my country and people would all see it.

It only got worse. I COULD leave America now, but the American Idea is what I belive it. And if I'm not willing to stand for it, what am I as an individual?

I woke up and think Doug should enjoy the same opportunity. None of us gets out of here alive. :)

Thank you so much Michael,

Man, it sure does suck the way you tease us

If it's who I think you're referring to, this is the second time(that I've read anyway) that you've implied that something went down last year and that you may, someday, share what that was. Frankly the curiosity is killing me and if the boys and girls here aren't mature enough to hear the truth, or at least your point of view, then what does that say? I'd hate to blindly be led by a false prophet and if my friend knew something that would get me out of harm's way via false expectations.....

Then again, I understand you not wanting to offend and possibly lose members. But your killing me here - lol.

"I'd hate to be blindly let

"I'd hate to be blindly let by a false prophet...."

Prophet or elephant, don't be led, don't be blind. Sorry to rib ya, e, but I get bent when I see people behave as followers.

rib all ya want - it's cool

I see nothing wrong with following in someone's footsteps, be it a leader or a role model and learning from their mistakes in the process. But I get your meaning and I should be clearer. What I meant by that, is that I'd hate to think of someone in a certain light, while in reality, they're not everything they seem. I don't appreciate being taken for a fool by deceit(or otherwise). Otherwise I agree about your sentiment/leaders. I just don't get bent about it because I've seen many a "leader" that has no right being in a position of leadership. But that's another story and then I"LL get bent - lol.

And it's led with a "d", not "t". Sorry, but had ta poke you back - all in good fun.

lol. Yeah. Typoooo. Whoops.

So you'd rather he offer it up to neocons?

I'm not so eager to trust the guy to that extent but... it's a chance for Liberty people to join forces.

I'd like to see more Liberty people forming companies myself.

Whoa dude..

pump the fkn brakes. This is Nystroms site.

Like it or not Wead is in the pyramid business. A lot of people are. The trick is getting in early and selling the hell out of a product to people who love it.

I don't knock Wead for it at all. He makes an honest living.

If you understand how to work those businesses you can make a lot of money and feel good about it. If you are good at attracting leaders and understand people management you create an invaluable network of people.

Yeah, kind of annoying

But you know what, to each his own. Everyone's got to make a living. Doug invited me to join, but I respectfully declined.

But I really did appreciate the fact that he asked me. He believes in this, and he's doing well, and he wanted me to join in so we could both do well, and I appreciate that.

I've had experience with MLMs in the past, and they're not for me. But even Rich Dad says that a MLM is a good place to learn business basics.

Anyway, what do you expect? Everyone's got bills to pay? Heard of the Daily Paul's chipin? That's how I chose to do it instead - by begging. LOL. I heard in an interview that Doug Wead made $46,000 off that outfit last month.

And then you start to wonder, "well geeze - is that really selling out?" Especially when begging doesn't work so well... Ha ha ha.

Anyway, I hear you about the swear word filter. We put that in for the presidential campaigns. We were trying our best to keep things clean for Ron Paul. It does get annoying. I've even been substituting the word funk to get around the fuck filter.

As far as WTF turning into What? Well, that is going to stay. WTF - what does it even say any more? That kind of bullshit in a title is lazy.

Anyway, I'm the enforcer around here. It is tiresome. Everyone wants something different.

Sure wouldn't want to be mayor (but I'm the mayor of the Daily Paul)
Sure wouldn't want to be king.
