Submitted by RobHino on Thu, 01/31/2013 - 17:00After a copy of her Applebee's receipt began circulating online yesterday, Pastor Alois Bell of the St. Louis-based Truth in the World Deliverance Ministries phoned up the restaurant and asked to have everyone involved fired.
See the receipt!

Wait
So the pastor got the worker fired? I agree with the whole statement on the receipt but I don't agree with the pastor going out his way to fire people and ruin lives. he should know better
The pastor was a "she", not a "he",
check out the article.
What can be said of a people who would sell their own children into slavery, using the rationale that it is to protect their freedom?
Well
I will be avoiding applebee's from now on. Me and my family, They just lost a few customers.

Tipping is a flawed System
What exactly is the point of tipping? Why do I have to pay extra to have my food, drink and what-nots that I paid for handed to me? It does not make any sense.
I hate feeling like if I don't tip cause of bad service that the next time I go there, someone will spit in my food or worse.
Plus, honestly, when is the last time anyone has actually had good service that warrants a tip? Far and few between I am sure.
Here is a good alternative system:
Put a small service charge on everyone's bill and pay the staff accordingly. No direct tipping by the customers required.
For those who have been to countries that do not have a tipping culture, haven't you noticed that the service is 1000x better than countries that do? I sure have.
And yes I used to be a waiter back in school.

I worked as a waitress for
I worked as a waitress for years, and to be honest, 18% seems awfully high. Sure, I would have loved 18%+, but I remember when 10% was considered a good tip, and 12% was at the high end of the scale, and now 18%? I understand the frustration from both sides of this issue, and it also seems like both sides are acting like they're entitled to something.
18% is the Corporate industry
18% is the Corporate industry standard for Large party gratuity. Specifically, the corporate restaurant i work for has its computers set up so it will automatically put the 18% gratuity in any check over a party of 10 or more, and the servers have no way to prevent that from printing directly on the check. But, you also are never required to pay that 18%. Its more of a suggestion than anything.

I agree
As a customer, I am entitled to my food, which I paid for. However, Waiters/Waitresses nowadays feel they are entitled no matter the quality of service they provide. Tips are earned not given.

18% is for large group that ofte require extra service.
Apparently, it is a fee for service. I doubt this "tip" goes to one server.

So don't go out to eat?
You have a choice.

Kitchens and I do not get along
I am the worst cook in the world, so I eat out every single meal.
Perhaps it is my vast exposure to restaurants and wait staff that puts my odds of receiving good service fairly low.

Did you know waiters are taxed as if you tipped 15%?
Anything less that 15% and the IRS gets a bonus and the waiter gets robbed.
The kicker is that the customer gets blamed for the government's theft.
Free includes debt-free!
Yeah but
How many people honestly report their tips? Probably very low.

No need to tip
If you grow, harvest, prepare, serve and cook your own meals, and clean up the mess afterward.
Yes, that way no contract is breached.
May I help you? Offers a contract. Accepting service follows.

In a typical "breach of contract" action, the party alleging the breach will recite that it performed all of its duties under the contract, whereas the other party failed to perform its duties or obligations. Including the posted 18% fee for large groups.

!0% is Biblical non - sense...Where do these bible parrots come
Jesus once said to his followers that the father in heaven wants kindness not money..The idea that the Lord needs money is rediculous.
The "giving" money concept is nothing more than snake- oil salesmanship from the heathen.
DON'T BELIEVE IT!! The Lord wants us to be kind to one another and that is the main concept of Christianity...Love one another, as I have loved you..
SIMPLE!
I want nothing to do with people like that who 'LORD IT' over everyone.
Applebees is a chain outfit and years ago I almost died from a bad case of food poisoning. I should have sueed them, but I didn't. All I wanted was my health restored. I prayed and after several months, I recovered, Thank God...I will never forget that experience.
I prepared most of my meals. Believe me, it is much healthier and safer...Someone told me, "You don't know if someone is pissing in your soap"
Crude maybe, but food for thought. No pun intended....Ha!
there is a story in the bible
about abraham,he was so happy to get his family back,he gave 10% of his spoils to Melchizedek
and another from malachi bring your whole tithe into the store house
these 2 versus are what the churches use to pander, and guilt
the flock into getting their money
i do not personally agree with that stance
just an explanation,in case you didn't know,or wanted to :)

i was told I was a rebel and a nutcase because i support Ron Paul
and his non intervention policies, the woman who told me this
is the mother to our rep here, and didn't like it when i told her i backed the ind and the libertarians, she got visibly upset, and loudly stated that our military is keeping us safe here at home,to which
i replied, show me in the bible where it says to go around the world
and blow brown people up
the 2 churches i have been involved with voted for Bush twice
and backed Romney this time around
I was also told that it is a sin to own a cell phone
and credit cards. Our pastor took a missions trip
he stated he had to call his wife(on his cell phone)
as he lost his wallet, and his credit cards were in there
why did i tell you this? i really don't know, maybe time is short
and i wanted someone to actually know me

10% is more then fair and
10% is more then fair and that minimum. When I was work at restaurant if I receive 10% I was happy. Nowadays times are super tuff. There is no reason to fire this people.
If you consistently tip 10%...
...And you are a regular at any restaurant, I suggest you change restaurants. Not that I ever have, nor ever would, but I have seen things servers have done to people's food to people like you.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.
That's the government creeps fault and their IRS.
Geez, to be taxed 15% on tips you don't collect is a real ripoff.
That waitstaff take it out on customers is despicable. Government only helps spread dissension and divisiveness.
