Former sex trafficking victim shines light on dark underworld of Super Bowl

Amid the parties and fun of Super Bowl 2013, authorities say, there is a dark underworld of girls and women being forced into the sex trade. Sitting in the festive lobby of a New Orleans hotel, festooned with San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens decorations, Clemmie Greenlee, a former victim of sex trafficking from Nashville, recalled being brought to cities around the South to prostitute for those attending such large-scale events.

For Greenlee's pimps, the influx of people provided a massive money-making opportunity.

"When they come to these kinds of events, the first thing you're told is how many you're gonna perform a day," she said Friday. "You've got to go through 25 men a day, or you're going through 50 of them. When they give you that number, you better make that number."

Having been abducted and gang-raped by her captors at age 12, Greenlee said, she was one of about eight girls controlled by a ring of pimps, men who injected them with heroin and, at times, kept them handcuffed to beds. For trying to run away, she was once stabbed in the back.

dude.. please come try, lmao.. "say that to me"...... second.. so half of all males have slept with a prostitute? does that make it right? Any sex outside of marriage is wrong.

That has nothing to do with

That has nothing to do with the discussion. I completely disagree with you, but that's irrelevant. Clearly you don't have a grasp on liberty AT ALL! You want a motherfucking theocracy!

Any kind of

sexual vandalism is sick in the head.

Sounds like a political term

Sounds like a political term to me. What is "sexual vandalism" and WHY would you classify all sexual acts under it? What is it that makes a sexual act bad? Is all sex just bad? Are you saying that pedophilia is the exact same as consensual sex when money is involved? SICK IN THE HEAD is what you are.

My, how libertarian of you! Ever read the non-aggression

principle?

Yes, I have. Have you ever

Yes, I have. Have you ever read the post you replied to?

okay, so now some libertarians think it's okay to force girls

at 12 years old into the sex trade? you sound like all you care about is being able to have sex whenever and however you want. if i'm wrong correct me. otherwise, you do not understand the non-aggression principle. even mature women shouldn't be kept as sex slaves. if you read the article, this woman said she was beaten and tortured by her owners. this had nothing to do with consensual adults.

Christians should not be warmongers! http://www.lewrockwell.com/vance/vance87.html

Seriously not cool

You know that is not what I am saying. You're arguing like a liberal. "Oh you like guns being legal? You must want children dead. You're a libertarian!? You pot-smoking hippy!!! Oh you want prostitution legalized? You must like young women being abused!" This accusation is completely unacceptable. You're trying to trap me. What I'm saying is plain and simple, legalize prostitution and you'll get MASSIVELY LESS YOUNG GIRLS KIDNAPPED AND FORCED INTO PROSTITUTION.

If you want to argue with that premise, fine. But insulting me and calling me a pedophile is downright unfair. Your accusation that I am ok with 12 year old girls being forced into sex slavery is in direct and utter contradiction with my ENTIRE PREMISE. I wouldn't even be here if I didn't want to see this stuff stopped.

Redact your accusation, it is uncalled for. If you had any respect for these girls you wouldn't so carelessly fling around these insults at people who are trying to help the situation. Moreover, if you actually had as much respect as I do for them, you would realize what a MASSIVELY VIOLENT INSULT it is to falsely accuse someone of abuse.

A sex crime is not a sex crime. You may want to homogenize them together, but there are differences. Pedophiles have a different incentives than normal sex junkies. Whether or not it is moral is not what I'm here to discuss. I obviously do not agree with the behavior, of forcing a 12 year old into Prostitution. I'm simply stating the fact that if prostitution were legal, it would not have happened.

Because you are stopping people like me from discussing solutions to the problem, you are part of the problem.

You accused me of some horrifying things, you were wrong. I take great offense to being called a pedophile, and I demand an apology and redaction of your blatantly false and undignified accusation.

I never said you were a pedophile, hence I didn't understand

your vehement response the first time. I simply said that legalizing prostitution would not stop the sort of thing written about in THIS article. Because this was obviously a case of child sex since they forced her into the trade at 12 years old. The comment I made about sex was referencing a trend I've seen in the liberty movement, which only freedom one cares about is freedom to indulge in sex and drugs. Thank you for correcting me about your position.

I agree that prostitution should not be the government's domain, but legalizing it will not stop child sex rings, child porn, etc. There will always be evil pedophiles. Sad, but true.

Legalizing prostitution will actually decrease sex slavery and children being sold into the sex trade. Its the same principle as the drug war. Since drugs and prostitution are both illegal, there is no legal framework such as age etc as criminals dont care. Just as a drug dealer isnt going to care if their customer is 18, a pimp could care less the age of the women he 'owns'.

On the other hand- MMJ facilities are tightly controlled and keep the product out of kids hands and the legal brothels will have the same legal framework and age requirements. If you provide a legal outlet, the criminal element will cease to be profitable as men would much rather go to safe and legal facilities over dealing with criminals. That is why states such as CO with MMJ dispensaries have put many drug dealers out of business.

We all share this eternally evolving present moment- The past and future only exist as inconsequential mental fabrications.

Heartbreaking

The darkness of humanity

The problem is the law

I grew up in Nevada, where prostitution is legal and regulated in most of the state. The workers do have to be over 18, so child molesters are still illegal. But having a legal, safe place for two consenting adults to have sex has been working out very well for years.

No question prostitution would be legal in a free society

One of the most educational audio books I've ever listened to is called Defending the Undefendable by Walter Block. 2 of my favorite chapters are "The Prostitute" and "The Drug addict" both can be listened to for free here:

Sure the pimps are horrible but its mainly the elite and

the politically connected that seem to have a never ending sexual appetite for children. Sadly, the people that create a demand for this type of "service" are always above the law. Bush the elder and many, many other people in positions of power have been caught with their pants down (so to speak) and its always dismissed as kookie talk and never investigated.

Just this week I read about a fla politican who has been going over the the dominican republic to pay for sex with 16 year old girls. If he even gets in trouble at all, it will probably be because he used taxpayer money to pay for the trips.

In a strained voice, the State will say "As much as these actions offend all that we stand for as a people, there is no provision under federal law that specifically prohibits a US represenitive from using his recreation time in any manner he so chooses. Our job now is to create new legislation that will never let this happen again."

The representitive will be put on administrative leave, (with pay) and will repay the state the money he used on those trips. He will also attend a substance abuse program because it just came to light that alcohol and ambien were most likely the cause of his poor judgement. Blah, Blah, Blah.

There may be a handful of good people in government but by and large the very WORST of our society has risen to the top. There is no doubt that the tree of liberty is in dire need of "refreshing".

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

It is so true that

the elite, who have such refined manners on the surface, are total trash in their most private lives. They don't have the wisdom to know how to comport themselves whilst swimming in money.

There, but for the grace of God, go I.

Time to INVESTIGATE the investigators of 9/11. PROSECUTE the prosecutors. EXPOSE the cover-up.

Fun Fact! The NFL is like a CHURCH.

At least in the eyes of the IRS. See my post "Football fever" - I think this whole thing is a charade, a form of ritual mockery.
I have use for one kind of TV only - those big screen, projection types. If you tear them apart, they have a BIG Fresnel lens in them and those things are bad-a$$ - melt rocks with them!

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

Now I know

The real meaning of the terms "spread" and "over or under".
