My message for Rand haters
Submitted by No.7 on Sun, 02/03/2013 - 00:30We need to remember the principles of the Republican party that we are trying to influence as Ron advised us to do. We should look towards criticisms of Ron Paul to figure out what we can do to advance the cause of liberty in the GOP. This article(http://www.redstate.com/mikeymike143/2011/06/21/why-ron-paul...) will help you get inside the minds of the typical Republican voter and realize why they think Ron Paul is crazy(also why Ron only got 10% of the GOP primary vote). It should also help explain some Rand's actions. I know Rand is breaking principle in what he is doing, but there is no other way to gain influence in modern politics while maintaining strong principles. For those in positions of power like Rand Paul or Justin Amash, compromise is necessary to gain influence and actually advance the cause of liberty. Justin Amash refused to compromise, which I admire BTW, but consequently lost influence and ability to advance the cause.
It bothers me that news about Rand Paul's admirable actions (IE Right to Work bill, Attempt to stop Obama's EO's, working to legalize industrial hemp...etc) get less attention than a misquote saying Rand want's to go to war with Iran or the move to endorse Romney AFTER RON TOLD US HE COULDN'T WIN(you know, if you can't beat em, join em).
What is up with all the Rand Paul hate here? Rand is winning friends and influence, Rand is advancing the cause of liberty through compromise and teamwork within the GOP. What's wrong with compromise if the ends justify the means?
I can understand if you don't agree with everything Rand says or does, I don't agree with it all either. However, you won't see me slandering fellow Libertarians over petty differences. To everyone actively trying to smear Rand Paul's reputation, I ask you to focus your attention on the Government officials openly committing treason. Your time could be put to much better use slandering Feinstein, Boehner, Obama, Clinton, Pelosi, Reid... the list goes on. There are many better candidates for you to slingshot mud at, please let Rand do his thing and advance the cause in the manner he finds best. Rand is reaching a lot of people and has a serious chance at winning this thing.

You have things backwards
Criticism and proper vetting of Rand makes him a stronger candidate. Unlike his Dad, Rand is 'Playing the Washington game'. That will engender a lot of distrust, it is only natural.
Why bother worrying about it. Let things take their natural course. Save your strength for 2016 when any of this might even possibly matter.
I think criticism of Rand weakens and divides the movement.
There are much better people to criticize in Washington.
Why do the Rand haters never mention the good, and career risking, moves he's making to advance the cause? Instead of focusing their attention at other politicians committing open treason trying to ban assault weapons, these people spend their time trying to convince Libertarians that Rand Paul is a neoconservative which couldn't be farther from the truth.

Lack of criticism and proper vetting
Of Mitt Romney has nearly killed the conservative movement in general. Criticism and vetting is vital to a healthy Republic.
I didn't have much trouble finding criticism of Romney in Nov.

However, I do agree in part. Constructively criticizing Rand Paul can help ensure he stays on he path of liberty.
