If you could choose one candidate to run for president, who would it be?

Ron Paul.

But if he doesn't run, then who?

2008 has grown massively leading to 2012. Instead of continuing to grow this r3VOLution, you have let it die. Is it now becoming more difficult? Are you throwing in the towel? Have you accepted that it is now necessary to play ball with ptb and gop?

Have you learned nothing?

My point is this: Ron Paul never would have realized the momentum had it not been for r3VOLution. WE should be propping our candidate of choice. If we can decide upon a solid candidate, each one of us should be propping that candidate in our respective states, counties, locally. If each one of us participates, then we can have real momentum, larger than any rallies that we have ever had previously.

I am certain that if enough support for one candidate evolves, the person who we select will readily accept.

Or will you just settle for what msm offers? Because if that is the case, then I am on the WRONG forum.

Mid terms are approaching and we should be focusing on those. But mark my words establishment has already been working on 2016. So have I.

This is a very well reasoned post

It's a shame people down vote without trying to actually rebut what he's saying.

Thank you

it's been a rather tough day between this and another deep topic. :)

"The R3VOLution operates the opposite way. We're all about bottom-up power."

That is the intent of this thread. So far no bites. Nothing has been learned.

"Nothing has been learned"

Nothing? Really? Have you considered my suggestion? I bit and I suggested and I have no idea why I got downvoted (again) for answering the question which underlied the OP.

If people want any progress, they're going to have to start listening when others make suggestions. The answers won't come in sound bite form.

To expand slightly on that suggestion, I know it is very easy to make a web site where debate can be 24/7 and ranked on both opinion and facts (as evaluated by more opinion ranking). I've suggested this dozens of time on this site and not once has it even been replied to so I don't really expect a reply from you. I'm just sitting here building up cynicism for any hope.

Andrew Napolitano......

Andrew Napolitano......

Someone

Who is economically literate.
Goes beyond the boilerplate.
Is willing to be tough with the military, but is strictly constitutional (I mean, someone who can be tough, not will be, because strictly speaking this is the President's job).
And really doesn't want the job, but feels bound to duty.

And... This sort of person would be driven out of public life at the earliest levels.

That's our problem. LIBERTY IS NOT GOING TO COME FROM THE OVAL OFFICE.

Judge

I like the Judge, given Ron doesn't run. Would it be a dream to have one prez and the other VP?

Know me, and you will know of the men and women that forged my soul.

Justin Amash

The Judge, Peter Schiff, Rand Paul. All candidates I would consider.

Amash can't win

It has to be Rand Paul / Amash or Judge Nap etc

Rand Paul actually could win in a Randslide just as he did in KY.
Ron Paul'son.
Rand was active on Ron's presidential campaign in 1988.
This is the future for us breaking the chains.

Hate to break it to you

But because of how the game is played Ron Paul could not have won either, but that doesn't mean people should only support people that can win.

I have been working my ass off for Ron Paul since 2007, and only once or twice did I think for a quick moment he had a chance.

It's too easy to support someone simply because they can win, it's harder to work your ass off for someone who does not stand a chance because that is what you believe.

Thanks

so you say it WAS impossible with Ron.

Rand is a totally different politics guy -- and he CAN win!

ok

But just because Rand CAN win.... does not mean people should support him simply because he is Ron's son.

agreed

but the main thing is Liberty.

Who cares how it is attained and under what name?

When people are free they will forget the names of those who contributed to their freedom.

Maybe we can hold a Libertarian Primary?

Who says it has to be sanctioned by the state or anyone? We could open up a web site with a debate on who should represent us. Leave it open for a long time frame but allow all input. Gather votes in a ranked fashion so there's no voting against the evil choice gaming. In that debate, people would offer facts and opinions both pro and con. In the process, maybe candidate x can adopt policy y to make them more palletable to the mass of Libertarians. When the whole thing is over, all those involved would have a stake in supporting the resulting winner because they actively participated. While some still may not support the nominee, other disenfranchised members of the D's and R's might just see our bottom-up solidarity and come flooding in.

Perfect? No. Worth the effort of giving it a try? You tell me?

Very good points jrd3820

It's harder to support the underdog because most people go only for the top dog.

Principle.. The road less traveled.

What about one of us?

What about... instead of suggesting people who may or may not be suited for the job, we figure out a candidate or some other solution amongst ourselves?

The thing about suggesting names like "Rand Paul" (who's chosen the path of a politician), "Judge Napolitano" (who's probably more comfortable in law than in the oval office), "Alex Jones" (who deals best in unravelling conspiracy), "Carol Paul" (who is best in being the supporting pillar of Ron Paul) and so on... is that it's divisive. You will get camps within our camp forming amongst ourselves, arguing who is trustworthy and who is not, what is the best solution, and what will lead us ultimately to disaster.

Have we forgotten that this site is dedicated to Ron Paul? I remember reading somewhere - can't remember - that Michael Nystrom himself talked about this site being made for Ron Paul. Not his son, or anyone else for his matter. Ron Paul. And you know what? Ron Paul sowed seeds amongst us. We. YOU.

So rather than focus on all our energies on a select few who are already doing very well for the cause of liberty, why not focus on those closer to us? Why not focus on those brave people who stepped up to the plate as delegates? Or those of us who became congressmen or representatives precisely because of Ron Paul? How about those of us, or your friends, who are here on this site precisely because of Ron Paul? I wouldn't mind even myself, but I'm far away in Australia, so I can only encourage you... WE, the People.

And even if we can't come to a particular name, why not talk about the very ideas that we want our chosen candidate to stand for? Specific ideas. 'Course, we all know what they are, but only in bits and pieces. Someone's gotta collect them all into a bundle, so that maybe, just maybe, it will resonate extraordinarily strongly with one of us that reads it.

I believe in the freedom to be what we choose to be.

Liberty speaks for itself.

We should not have to discuss what we are looking for in a candidate. That would only offer fodder for those who want to 'win'. We should be looking at voting records and listening to speeches, and decide from there.

That is how I selected Dr. Paul. That is how I will select in mid-terms and for 2016.

but in this world I wish to see a time when a dove a bird is president and its presidency itself has no power over other living beings.

Do you see a bird ordering drone strikes and such?
Or a gun grab?

Bird as president!

Carol Paul 2016

If the liberals are going to shove Hillary at everyone, ya'll better be ready to fight back with a chick, and Bachman and Palin won't cut it.

Ok... For those of you who can't take a joke... I am kidding.

Judge Nap makes sense (Stossel as VP... a girl can dream, right?). Do you guys realize how easy it would be to flip the libs and independents onto him? Child's play. It's like a sport and it would be pretty easy.

Carry on.
