My Super Bowl party!Submitted by The Pen on Sun, 02/03/2013 - 21:21
It began at 830am with a knock on the wall from my 4 year old son. It is his way of telling me to get up and come in his room (for a reason he has never bothered to share with me). My 34 week pregnant wife went back to bed to rest and I prepared his oatmeal, toast and gummy vitamins. I then began the hour process of making home-made hashbrowns with onions and pepper/salt. After breakfast my son and I played "Martha Speaks" online and tried numerous times to beat our old best score by guiding a dog' nose with the mouse in order for it to find like items.
I have managed to get alot done in the garage today. Our baby is due in 3-6 weeks and the preparation is almost done (rearranging, putting stuff in the attic, etc.) I KNOW MOST OF YOU ON HERE ARE IN NEED OF A POST LIKE THIS - A MOMENT AWAY FROM THE PROPAGANDA AND LIES OF OUR LEADERS. I ended up spending almost 3 hours in the garage so far and am on my way back out there after I post this. The TV is off! The old antenna radio is playing out in the garage the best of the 70's and 80's and the house it quiet. My wife took my son to the grocery store and goodwill to drop off some donations (clothes/chair/pillows) and I have at very least a good hour and a half of total freedom. I will play some piano at some point and enjoy the peacefulness while I can.
All of you on here are part of this sacred peaceful moment as every parent can attest. But my whole world would end if they were taken or reduced to "collateral damage" as our spiteful and unconscionable leaders like to promote and implement. The superbowl is an unworthy pasttime in my opinion...full of warriors, some a little more unaware after multiple concussions or injuries; divided on field, the epitome of duality and part of a complex bent on promoting pharma-land and chemical-land all in the name of sport. Again...the TV is off! And I am for once completely content in not knowing the score produced by men at war over symbology.
This has been my Super Bowl party! Thank you to all who just shared a piece of it with me.
Love and PEace first.
