Ron Paul TWEETS About SEAL Sniper's Chris Kyle's Death: 'He that lives by the sword dies by the sword'

Update: Rand Paul Responds | Update: Ron Paul clarifies his Tweet on Facebook

Vince Coglianese | Daily Caller | 02/04/2013

Former congressman and libertarian icon Ron Paul tweeted a startling reaction to the death of SEAL sniper Chris Kyle on Monday:

Ron Paul ✔ @RonPaul

Chris Kyle's death seems to confirm that "he who lives by the sword dies by the sword." Treating PTSD at a firing range doesn't make sense.
5:05 PM - 04 Feb 13

Kyle and a friend were both killed by a veteran struggling with PTSD while working with him at a gun range on Saturday.

The former Marine, Eddie Ray Routh, turned his weapon on the other two men and shot them at close range, according to news accounts.

Also, RP brought up vet suicides several times during campaign

This topic is one of the one's he would mention on news shows. And he probably saw the clips of the sniper guy acting like a braggart and strutting his macho war crap on FOX News. Being a sniper isn't an honorable soldier duty if you ask me. It's not like soldiering during war time, it's murder, plain and simple.

I must admit... I was

I must admit...

I was thinking it.

He said it.

Be sure to check out the comment section in that link. Such fools some of them are.

My reaction was "Why ptsd at

My reaction was "Why ptsd at a firing range?" too. Firing with live ammo if you are ptsd is bad judgement, unless he was just a little ptsd and the severity of the ptsd was underestimated. But I know I would be hesitant to go to the firing range with someone with violent tendencies. I have never been hunting but it seems kind of like the same thing.

We dont know the whole story.

I have PTSD and I go to the range yet I have never shot or had the urge to shoot somone.

It could have been so many possible things. Meybe it was over a girl. Meybe they had a violent arguement. These are mocho guys they get togeather and I can see tempers flare.

But the media wants to paint it as a insane act of a PTSD victim.

What about the Military and the government that paid the guy and put him into a PTSD illness. Lets get the ones who gave him the PTSD as the ones who caused this.

I note that the real story is not comming out it seems that this is just another oppertunity for gun grabbers to scare the sheep and keep pushing forward to squash opposition to their tyrany.

sovereign

Wise, wise man

Ron Paul doesn't have to be as guarded with his language anymore and I'm lovin' every bit of it!

It does seem a bit out of character - but look at the context

... the context is PTSD. That is probably something Ron wants to bring attention to. What was the headline from the other day? 20 vets kill themselves daily? I didn't read that article - but we all know many of our vets our suffering more after coming home.

So - I think it was done to generate a bit of controversy, and I think the suicides (and the other effects of PTSD) are what Ron will be discussing when he is 'called upon' to defend his statement.

RP Tweet

...seems out of character for him.

From LRC

This isn't exactly a

This isn't exactly a compassionate comment on Ron's part but he isn't wrong. Why would this guy be allowed near a gun much less a shooting range??

allowed because the

allowed

because the government has no right to decide who does and does not have a right. Rights are inherent, not given by government.

I dont believe for one second that Ron Paul tweeted this.

I sure hope Ron comes out with a statement denying this. As a 20 year, retired Navy SEAL, I will be very disappointed if this is true.

First - dont fly off the handle

Four down votes is NOT ALL on here -there are a lot of fools lately.

Second - I agree with you - this does not sound at ALL like something he would say.
I voted you up if that makes you feel better :)

F all of you guys!

You want to keep putting minus signs on my post. I have been a member of this site for 5 years, donated a lot of money to Ron Paul over the last two Presidential cycles, donated a lot of my time in support of Ron Paul, gotten several of my SEAL teammates to support Ron Paul and I post something on here and you F sticks want to pull this crap. Fine, I am deleting my account, I no longer will support anything this frigging website does.

Don't lose your cool

Your sentiment has not been ignored.

Hope you reconsider

Seems kind of harsh, which does make it questionable ( the tweet)

Agenda 21, PNAC, CODEX ALIMENTARIUS and UN biodiversity study. Help me understand why I shouldn't think there is a big agenda against the wishes of the masses.

Just ignore it. I get voted

Just ignore it. I get voted down all the time too and called a troll here and there. People are just a-holes and don't like dissenting opinions. I don't like AJ and reject many alternative theories to current events, so this makes me a non-RP supporter apparently. Like I said, ignore it.

btw... I agree with you here. This seems out of character and out of tone for RP. Perhaps LR wrote this just like he wrote the racist comments in the newsletters all those years ago.

I just voted you down

for being a titty baby. Grow a pair and I will change my vote.

You actually care about the

You actually care about the votes?

All the people during the GJ charade with multiple accounts voting anything close to anti-gary would vote you down to oblivion.

I couldnt really care less about what someone thinks about me but atleast I have integrity to stand behind my standards and the honor to do what is right.

don't leave...

you've gotta get used to downvotes...doesn't mean everyone's against you. i got downvoted for saying girls should not be forced into prostitution. i guess there's all kinds around here. just keep speaking your mind.

Easy there tiger

I'll give you 2 up votes since it seems that is what you seek, but Dr. Paul has always strongly advocated peaceful non-violent resistance. Please don't take things so personally. People were down voting your words only, not you or any of your past achievements. And thank you for your service brother

But that

will not impress muslims and their supporters among us (There are many anti-war Blue Republicans here and anti-Semites who want muslims to be stronger, not weaker.)

Don't

pay too much attention to votes either up or down. And also remember there are trolls that vote or comment trying to discredit this site, because the message is too powerful.

don't do that

Don't leave. I believe as you do. It's not his character. I'd be very surprised to know he actually wrote this.

what was he on?

Why does nobody ask about the medication? A common cause of this new violent streak in our culture seems to revolve around antipsychotics, antidepressants, and anti-anxiety medications. This is exactly what someone with PTSD would likely be prescribed.

The connection is not made

The connection is not made because the pharmaceutical industry spends millions and has thousands of lobbyists in Washington, DC that lobby Congress to help ensure the status quo on U.S. drug regulation and pricing.

The anti-depressant list of many patients; Paxil, Zoloft, Prozac, Lexapro, etc it goes on through the whole list of about 12. The FDA reported that antidepressant dangers caused a whole bunch of very bad adverse side effect including anxiety, depression, addiction, severe withdrawal, homicidal rage and suicide. These PTSD Veterans don’t need these adverse effects on top of PTSD.

Was He Going To Reveal Who Put Him Up To Lie About

punching Jesse Ventura out?..

They blamed this on a mental patient..Sure! Blame everything on mental cases..

DPers, I can't prove this, but I believe this was a hit to silence this SEAL sniper from revealing who put him up to the lie about Jesse Ventura...That he punched Jesse Ventura out..

No doubt

I haven't looked into this very far, but I'm definitely not

buying the official story.
