I think I know what all the wars in the Middle East are all about

We all know that the OPEC/U.S. dollar relationship (Petrodollar) is the only thing keeping the U.S. dollar afloat.

Well apparently OPEC's future doesn't look good:

http://www.brookings.edu/research/papers/2013/01/revolution-...

All the while the Russians and Chinese are working with the Iranians to create an OPEC replacement:

http://www.globalresearch.ca/pipeline-geopolitics-major-turn...

And the Americans are working with the Israelis to create another OPEC replacement as well:

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/01/31/why-israel-will-ru...

Bottom line: All the wars in the Middle East are the result of U.S. interests trying to maintain the OPEC/Dollar monopoly for as long as possible. They're only buying some time until the OPEC/Dollar monopoly will inevitably collapse. When that happens, the U.S. government will no longer be the world's only superpower.

Confessions of an Economic Hitman

Have you read it? John Perkins explains a lot of how this was set up in the '70s and '80s and his role as an EH - Economic hitman for a private consulting corporation.

Don't feed the pandas. Ever.

Good intentions

Have nothing to do with it.

Why We Fight

America fights because we believe we can bring about justice and prosperity, at home and abroad, by brute FORCE rather than by Reason and example. Initiating FORCE to do "good" is, ironically, the source of the evil we fight. America, and the world, is mired in the belief that good intentions are enough to justify invading countries and killing any who oppose them. How tragic can that be? Research America's good intentions in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Drug War, etc., and you will find millions dead and devastation beyond belief. Good Intentions coupled with a destructive force growing by leaps and bounds and you have the present day disasters. The founding principle of the Libertarian Party is: No individual or group of individuals may initiate FORCE to achieve personal or political goals.
Our goal should be to bring about justice and prosperity by Reason and Example rather than by brute FORCE.
Private and Political Force can only be used to protect and defend Individual Liberty against those who initiate Force for what ever "good intentions" they irrationally hold.

who will give us LESS dead bodies and more gas for less dollars

i would rather not have cartels of any kind, however if I had to choose which should i choose?

i think i would rather have a russian, chinese and iranian cartel... somehow I feel they would be less violent, more fair and accountable...

for god's sake the chinese hang their white collar criminals... I give that a 10+!

What would you say

if you learned that all cartels both existing and your optional ones, are false?

You want to get away from oil/gas cartels? Stop listening to oil/gas companies that have the public convinced that renewable energy can't supply all our needs. It not only can but 1400 times as much. Economically, it can still do dozens of times what we need.

Throw

in "rare earth minerals" and you got the jist of it.

Many miss on the most important fact:

Heads of State Departments are political appointees (from CIA to EPA) and spend most of their time on meetings and talking. Real agenda is set by the clerks inside the agencies. Those have no evil purpose rather than to justify their automatic trade union salary encrease, bonus, pension plan, and perks.

The clerks' main concern is to keep their gainful PERMANENT employment going. Wars create a great opportunity for millions to prosper - career, non-bid contract, job security. That is why when war is over, military presence or nation building is going on for decades. CIA agents are especially fond of wars since they are given billions in cash to bribe others (some money is retained or returned as a kick back.)

My list of reasons

Why we fight:
- Maintain Petrostatus
- Suppor MIC
- Protect oil lines for oil companies against the locals wishes
- Zionism (real, faked, perceived, Christian, Jewish)
- Fear and xenophobia
- Expression of power on the world stage
- Legitimize domestic taxing and extoll taxes from the host country

I think the last is the most important. The govt and the MIC don't want dead bodies, they want money, and they get that money by taxing US. We're the targets of the war.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to just be the financial target compared to some Afgani bleeding to death in a ditch, but if they just got the bodies and didn't get the money they wouldn't do it.

I'm not going to add "to keep us safe" to my list, not with a straight face at least.

Currently consuming: Gatto: "Underground history of education..", FDR; Wii U; NEP Football

Makes me wonder why I get so much opposition

in my fight to get us off our oil dependence.

Solar FTW!
8-10 years to the tipping point (where oil no longer drives our world) and 15 to the point where oil's price plummets.

There's a little more to it

Than just the petro-dollar unfortunately.
The reality is the inmates are running the assylum.

I figured out the wars

I figured out the wars weren't actually about terrorism when we let Bin Laden go all those times and Bush has been quoted saying he isn't worried about Bin laden, also the fact that it took the worlds strongest military 10 years to find the man.

This is true for Current Tensions, but it goes back ALOT further then that

Spot on

I try to tell people all the time that the wars in the Mid East aren't for oil, per se... more like they are for maintaining that oil is traded in USD.

Nice job

Yup, the petrodollar is the only thin holding America stable, that's why senators reuse to pass budgets, refuse to get out if the war, refuse to actually negotiate peaceful solutions. That's why they want war with china for trying to destroy our dollar, they want war with Iran for sellin oil by trading goods from Russia, china, India and more. Yup yup, you hit the nail on the head. We will lose our deal with the Saudis very soon.

yep...

it is all about the petro dollar...because the whole game relies on it. China, Russia, central america and Iran know this as well.
