Please excuse the rather "dark" tone, I just lost a family member. Thank you for allowing me to post "bad poetry" in a place where people might be able to relate to what I am feeling.
If memories went with shampoo bubbles, circling down the drain
I could wash away the love I've lost, Rinse, repeat, for pain.
At least the blessed spray and splash camoflauge these useless tears.
Grief and loss mingle with shame, for giving in to fear.
Others mourn the passing of ones whom this mortal veil have fled,
Myself, I am tormented more by those with only hearts gone dead.
What mother risked her life to raise and nurture her sweet child
To sacrifice them on the alter of whatever is in style?
And now the fad is distant, endless, Empire building war,
A mother grieves for mothers, and the children that they bore.
