1,050 New Testament Commands

I'm posting this for the list it contains. It is not perfect. Some of their translations are inaccurate, but they do post the scripture references. I highly recommend that you to check the text yourself.

You have an eagle eye - thanks!

I missed that somehow. I had even used 'Find' option in the browser trying to make certain but I did not catch it. Mea culpa.

Thanks for the correction!

You bet!

It is a pretty thorough list, a good start anyway, but the categories are all over the place.

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Obama needs to read #167 on that list

#167: Speak truth (EPHESIANS 4:25)

Off topic question: is it me or are things from the Bible happening more often? Whenever I see a big fish/bird die-off or the amount of EQ's happening, I wonder if "they" are trying to make events of the Bible happen or...well yeah, someone had some fore-sight back in the day, to put it harshly.

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

:o)

To answer your question, yes, on both counts. The prophets spoke the truth, and the modern zionists are working overtime to fulfill their words.

On a side note. It is my personal belief that God's hand of protection has been lifted from the United States. These are but the beginning of sorrows.

On this Good Friday...

This list reminds me that "Upon a life I did not live, upon a death I did not die; another’s life, another’s death, I stake my whole eternity."
-Horatius Bonar

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corin. 5:21

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

Thank you for the reminder!

thank you--

very interesting--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Before the death and resurrection of Christ----when

the 4 gospels were written about---people were still under the old testament law. Acts was an account of the believers transition from old testament to new testament. Romans is where our commandments as believers start. But, thank you so much for this link! I've been working on a list like this, but I didn't know someone else had already compiled it. :-)

:o)

I'll stick with Christ, who is the Living Word, and the helper that He sent, the Holy Spirit.

πολλα γαρ πταιομεν απαντες ει τις εν λογω ου πταιει ουτος τελειος ανηρ δυνατος χαλιναγωγησαι και ολον το σωμα

Definitely! It is Christ alone who saves and sanctifies!

I've just been wanting to know how God wants me to behave as a saved believer.

Interesting list

Out of curiosity, what was/is the purpose of posting this?

"Be a listener only, keep within yourself, and endeavor to establish with yourself the habit of silence, especially on politics." -Thomas Jefferson

Education

Somebody has to teach this law.

Deut 4:1 "that ye may live"

Deut 6:1 "Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD(YHUH) your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it"

1 Chronicles 28:8 "keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD(YHUH) your God"

"Even when, by His grace, we have been led to take the seven beautiful steps in that path mentioned in that grand gush of Bible love, the 119th Psalm, believing them, learning them, longing for them, loving them, delighting in them, keeping them, and not forgetting them, there remains this further step, seeking for all of them."

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

By your response, am I to expect that an Old Testament list of commands will also be forthcoming?

πολλα γαρ πταιομεν απαντες ει τις εν λογω ου πταιει ουτος τελειος ανηρ δυνατος χαλιναγωγησαι και ολον το σωμα

I don't have the whole OT yet

But here are a couple of links to start with. The translations and categorizations need work, as does the OP.

I'm going to say the founders KNEW them,

...felt they were GREAT for a society to be instructed in, while at the same time NOT have a theocracy...

See, we did try it their way only ONCE....now we've "thrown off" the Laws of Nature and Nature's God because we believe we've "evolved" past those antiquated do's and dont's of "an invisible God" - this is what we call being "progressive"...it started at the turn of the century with prosperous Americans loving money more than God, it escalated greatly in the 60's with rebellious teenagers burning bra's and giving their parents and pastor's the middle finger because they loves rock and roll and nudity and fornication...now that last generation runs our country and...we're about to have the boot of communism stomped on our neck by our perhaps own military just "obeying orders"...

See, THIS is how American history was taught to the school children pre-civil war ....

We're going to have to go through another bloody civil war it would seem, if we ever want to get back to that!

Wondering

Have you checked your link?

I think God was thrown when

I think God was thrown out when Evolution replaced Him as Creator. Spurgeon who was alive at that time had somewhat to say about it:

Didn't you realize

that Spurgeon was being exceedingly sarcastic in his remarks? He thought (rightly) that the general theory of evolution was utter nonsense.

Ron Paul - Honorary Founding Father

And I agree with Spurgeon,

not only is it nonsense, I think that is why today people don't even believe the Bible to be the Word of God. No Creator = No God. I am sorry I did not make that clear in my remark. Thanks for letting me know!

You're welcome

Yes, that's probably why your comment attracted some down votes.

Fortunately, Jesus Christ fulfilled the law

He told us the greatest commandment:

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

...and we cannot even come close to honoring it perfectly. But we cling to the Cross and at Judgement claim His Blood as the atoning sacrifice for our failure to fulfill the Law.

Yes

Love thy neighbor as theyself. -- Thank you Confucius 400 years earlier.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

Ha!

Moses knew it almost 1000 years before that.

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

How Certain Are You Of That? . . .

. . . when there is a Christian Bible scholar who reluctantly says Jesus did not die on a cross?:

Should Christians only look at some of the facts and not others?

In the interest of peace and truth I would encourage you to read my article "Sowing The Seeds For A Peace Revolution":

"Holy S___!"

"Fascinating stuff!"

"cool read"

Colossians 2:8 See to it

Colossians 2:8

See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

n psychology, cognitive dissonance is the excessive mental stress and discomfort[1] experienced by an individual who holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values at the same time.

I guess the middle of night

was not a good time to post this.
