Chicago police stop immediate responses to burglaries and thefts

Many Chicagoans who call 911 will no longer receive immediate help. Chicago police will no longer show up at crime scenes unless someone is in critical condition or a criminal suspect remains on the scene.

It may soon take bullet wounds, broken bones, rape attacks or other injuries to catch the attention of the police department, while crimes like car thefts may largely be overlooked.

Chicago just got one step closer to Detroit.

The next economic downturn will be the end of this once great city.

The Chicago police will now have more time to go after people who give their guns away. This story is published 12 hours later:

Cook County Gun Ordinance Approved: Plan Targets Straw Purchasers Of Illegal Guns
By DON BABWIN 02/05/13 09:04 PM ET EST AP

In an effort to slow the flow of illegal guns to Chicago streets, county commissioners approved an ordinance Tuesday that imposes fines of as much as $2,000 on suburban residents who fail to report when their guns are lost, stolen or given to someone else.

Yup

This is all the more reason Chicagoans should purchase a gun(s) and take responsibility for defending themselves. Believe me I live near this zoo. The police won't even go near some neighborhoods.

If this continues we shall have no choice

but to start beating ourselves up.

I'm going to take myself hostage and demand my freedom as ransom.

They'll still give you speeding tickets though.

They're only going to stop responding to the "little stuff" like home invasions.

Not just in Chicago-

epidemic?

REMINDS me of this story

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE
Roger Gresse, an elderly man, from Zanesville, OH, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed. Roger opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked, "Is someone in your house?"

He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me."

Then the police dispatcher said. "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available."

Roger said, "Okay."

He hung up the phone and counted to 30.

Then he phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them," and he hung up.

Within five minutes, six police cars, a SWAT team, a helicopter, two fire trucks, a paramedic, and an ambulance showed up at the Gresse residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the policemen said to Roger, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

Roger said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

LOL

Maybe an add on to the story for present times?

awesome.

.

Wow.

"The Chicago Police Department is in fact dealing with an overwhelming number of gun violence incidents, with its 513 homicides last year reaching a four-year high. Last month’s 42 homicides were the most January murders Chicago has experienced since 2002, and the city is on the pace for more than 700 murders this year."

Well, at least their gun control laws are working. /sarc

This is a typical pushback from trade unions

It happens to all trade unions in government offices. The thugs do as they please. If Congress threatens to reduce Federal spending, trade unions threaten to close parks and tourist attractions. If a governor does not agree on salary increase for trade union workers servicing subways or railroad trains, they cut services and repairs. Same with roads, bridges, schools, paperwork, etc.

Milton Friedman explained in detail why it is so difficult to change things for better under big government. Besides open strikes, lobbying and voting power, government workers have the power of passive aggression. Those who are familiar what happens if your spouse is engaged in passive-aggression knows, the system does not work well and is unreliable. But we can always cast our longing glances at Rothschild instead.

So while they ride around in a car, they spot crimes like

superman does lol..

This has fuck up written all over it.

My bet is, they're needed to write more tickets for revenue.

If the people had guns...

If the people had guns to defend themselves cops wouldn't need to rush either.

911 call:

"What is your emergency?"
"Oh no emergency, I just shot some guy trying to rob me. He's still twitching on the floor but I think he can make it another 30 minutes so if you wouldn't mind getting an officer and ambulance over here I'd appreciate it. No rush though...I know you guys are 'busy'."

If ignorance is bliss, Washington DC must be heaven.

3. Do not post the ENTIRE text of articles from other sites. This is copyright infringement, and could get you, me, and this site in trouble. (In fact, it already has!) Feel free to post a short intro, and then a link to the original article. Understanding fair use would be wise, also.
