Bob Marley's Birthday Thread - Chant Down Babylon

Today is Bob Marley's birthday. Happy Birthday, Bob :)

Thank you for leaving us all your music and truth - and thank God for all truth tellers. Lord knows (and you know) what a thankless task it (usually) is. Bob Marley is a great comfort on this path. If you are unfamiliar, you can hear him sing about it in this sublime song, "Babylon System": http://www.youtube.com/wa...

And for those of you who are familiar, here is an excellent live version by his children:

http://youtu.be/g25uQt4O71k

"Would you let the system get in top your head again? No, dread, no!"

If you like, please share your favorite Bob Marley songs on this thread. I wish you all comfort and inspiration on this path.

Bob was way right ahead of his time.

Marley saw what is happening right now long before many of you were born. There were a few of us that were blessed with the overhead influence that Bob shared with the world. There is a movement in Ethiopia called the "Rasta" movement. Take a few to pull it up and learn something very important about life folks. You will be changed forever.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

Wow, So it takes Bob to...

Bring us all back together as a family? What a fantastic way to share a bit of love with each other. I miss and love you all.

Some great Bob Marley Quotes:

“Better to die fighting for freedom then be a prisoner all the days of your life.”

“The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively”

“The winds that sometimes take something we love, are the same that bring us something we learn to love. Therefore we should not cry about something that was taken from us, but, yes, love what we have been given. Because what is really ours is never gone forever.”

“My music will go on forever. Maybe it's a fool say that, but when me know facts me can say facts. My music will go on forever.”

Bob Marley quote

"Put tire in trunk...bolt it down...then we take break."

Bob Marley worked in the Chrysler assembly plant in Newark, Delaware.

“...taxes are not raised to carry on wars, but that wars are raised to carry on taxes”
Thomas Paine, Rights of Man

"Some people feel the rain, others just get wet"

Marley quote...Dylan also said it.

Redemption Song...

"Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds"

"...These songs of FREEDOM"
