FDA is now trying to kill smokers

I know that posting a link to Fox News seems counter intuitive but it is written by John Stossel so I think it's ok ;) It is not surprising that the FDA has been going after e-cigarettes, since they are most definitely in bed with pharmaceutical companies which manufacture nicotine gum and patches. I love it when people try to tell me "you better watch out, I heard a news report that those e-cigs are just as bad if not worse than the real thing" Makes me absolutely sick. There are more and more studies coming out that are making the FDA's argument even more invalid. Just like is stated in this article, its all about risk, you can not get rid of risk, you can only lessen it.

Stand together

The government doesn't really care whether you live or die, face it. The reason given for the initial war on smokers was based on second hand smoke. The real reason is traced to two areas, 1st. Government-control scheme, smoking, obesity then an alcohol attack. The two later groups will come into full effect when oBOMBa care is implemented. Then the government will truly own your body with control over what is put into it. The 2nd is big pharma- smoke cessation products. All those on the 'board' are the big wigs of the Pharmaceutical Industry. The more oppressive the actions against smokers, the more millions Pharma pull in. Divide and conquer and vilify are the two most successful psychological ploys used. Throw in "for the sake of the children" from the UN memos. The psychological thrust has resulted in those nasty sheep who want to control others.

As large corporations doctor the product for addiction[maximum profit], Large Pharma corporations cash in on patches, gum etc.[maximum profits] The circle is on-going with the help of government psych-ops and gullible sheep. With the profits for tobacco corps, none for big pharma and none for government and more importantly, they lose control. There goes vilification. Sadly, the irritable sheep have nothing to bit-h about.

To allow the e-cig is a win, win for the health of smokers
A lose, lose for government,Tobacco Corps and Big Pharma Corps.
Who will win?
I believe the win for smokers will occur only if the two groups who are NEXT don't allow the divide and conquer. All groups have to fight TOGETHER for liberty. One falls, we all fall. Free choice when it comes to our own bodies is the epitomy of Freedom.

Was smoking back in the day...

...not as bad for a person before they started adding dozens of chemicals to the cigs?

nicotine is turne into vitamin B3 and B6 in liver using copper.

That means copper deficiency is common. Graying hair, varicose veins, wrinkles, hernia and other issues with the bodies elastic tissues.

But the big problem is formaldehyde in tobacco smoke. Eventually formaldehyde can pickle the body like those smelly frogs in biology class.

A water pipe lowers the formaldehyde in the smoke.

I can attest

Nicotine and tobacco related products are the most addictive drug on earth, possibly more addicting than heroin (although I've never tried it - I have been prescribed opiates in the past), and it is harder to get off cigarettes than painkillers after a major accident. I'm no fan of the mega tax rate that has been put on cigarettes here in NY, but the success rate of someone attempting to quit, with additional assistance, is something like 10%.

Thanks for responding so quickly!

Very interesting!

Geez, lot's of spelling errors.

I should have taken anther 30 seconds. Maybe it's bedtime.
You're welcome! Catch you later kron.

I'm addicted to cigarettes

but I know they are bad and want to quit (just gotta pick a date and work up the will power.) I tried the e-cigs and they did not work for me. They did not seem to be as harmful to my health as regular smokes though. Just vapor and nicotine.

You still have a few day kick

You still have a few day kick to switch to e-cigs, the nicotine is the long term addiction.

Cigarette style ecigs suck

Let me guess, you tried one of those cigarette lookalike ecigs that you can buy at the corner store? If so then you have not really tried ecigs. If you want some more information shoot me a message and I can point you in the right direction. I was a 2 pack a day smoker and have been smoke free for just over three years now thanks to the ecig. It still isnt easy getting over that addiction of chemicals and crap but it is like anything else, if you want it to work, it will work. I never like to say that vaping is good for you but I will say that in my opinion, it is a huge harm reduction tool.

Replace the cigs with something else.

During my teens, I smoked for ~4 1/2 years. I smoked a lot. I got whooping cough, was messed right up for more than 2 weeks (I couldn't smoke, could barely breathe,) and I just quit. It's been said that 2 weeks breaks a habit. I disagree. But I know that it helps.

Last year, for ~5 months I was kind of addicted to cigarillo cigarette/cigars (Primetime's/Honeytime's.)

I'd smoke a couple cigarillos a day, more if I was having drinks. I knew it was messing up my health, so I quit. Since then, I have only smoked a few individual cigarillos, my last smoke was months ago. I've been doing good. I have no desire to smoke tobacco.

Initially, it was difficult. I'd be watching a movie, there is a cigarette, and I'm like "I'M GOING TO THE STORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" lol I quit by using will power and junk food. Instead of buying a cigarillo from my local convenience store, I'd buy a bag of chips instead. Or some other snack food.

Try it. It won't be easy, but it might help/work for you. Replace the cigarettes with something else. If you start smoking crack instead, I finish with this:

"This comment is not endorsed by the FDA. Seek a physician."

Nicotine is turne into vitamin B3 and B6 in liver using copper.

Supplement with B3 and B6 to reduce the cravings.

Better yet, get the Alex Pack or equivalent for all 90 essential nutrients.

Maybe the addiction is a craving for a trace mineral found in the smoke?

One way to find out. Become sufficient in all 90 essential nutrients.

Nice article about more

Nice article about more corruption from the FDA. Why don't they find something worthy to pick on like aspertame. Those e-cigarettes sure get the control freaks totally worked up. Have you ever seen the reaction of the anti-smoking busy bodies when someone puffs on one of those in a store or public area? The anti-smokers go nuts and try to kick the person out.

Oh no, the REAL reson that the FDA want's you to STOP

smoking... is because smokers supposedly have a thing going on that prevents them from being suggestive to subliminal messaging. That came out a couple of years ago. It's not becasue they love you? Seriously? No! seriously... they want to keep you safe.

Are you kidding?

Or is this a real thing?

Cyril's picture

No. It's true. I'm a smoker and I'm average++ smart...

No. It's true. I'm a smoker and I'm average++ smart...

... well, when I'm not downright stupid. :P ;)

I use Blue Wave, but don't expect one of THEIR silly taglines.

the FDA does not want to stop smoking

they want as many people to keep smoking as possible because that makes more money for drug companies and hospitals, they just want to demonize it so they can steal more money from people (through taxes and regulations) that choose to smoke or are addicted to cigarettes
