The parties have the sole right to pick who the electors are.

According to the constitution, only the state legislature has the authority to either anoint the electors themselves or delegate another body to do it. So, since now only the political parties may anoint the electors, I'm wondering when that authority was handed to them by the state legislature in all of the states. Anyone know?

That question should be proffered to your state legislature.
It will be interesting to see what they have to say about it.
