Any New Yorkers here? HELP please!

I have a letter (below) that I wrote with my liberty group re the gun control legislation that was passed in NY.

There is a NYS Senator who want to repeal the legislation, but she wants to REPLACE it with "mental health" legislation.

We feel strongly that this is not wise. We want to get more signatures in New York than just our group. We want as many New Yorkers to sign this as we can before the SCOPE gun rally on Feb. 28.

We know it's kind of long, but representatives don't really have the knowledge or foresight and need desperately to be educated.

Would YOU be willing to sign with us?

I thought maybe an online petition? Or is there another way?

The letter/petition is:

Dear Senator Marchione,

We want to thank you for your stand against the gun control legislation. We would like to stand with you to fight.

We need to be very clear here: This is a CONSTITUTIONAL issue, NOT a mental health issue. This legislation should be repealed, not replaced, especially given the fact that it was done in the middle of the night illegally using the “message of necessity” tactic!

“We have a Republic, if you can keep it”, said Ben Franklin. How many times have you heard on the news or from somewhere else that America is a democracy? Democracy comes from two Greek words, demos which means people and kraten which means to rule, hence: the rule of the people or majority rule. That might sound good to those oblivious to the end result of such an idea. If a “majority” wants to kill you, what would restrain them? Under a democracy, nothing. You would be subject to the whims of the people or “mob rule”. To the contrary, the word republic comes from Two Latin words: Res means thing and publica means public. Public Thing or everyone’s interest. The essence of a republic is the rule of law - the Law of our land, the Constitution. The government is restrained by the law. Using my example above, what would restrain a group of people from taking your life in a republic? The law. Our Constitution was carefully written to limit the government’s power, thereby keeping it in its proper place.

Over time, Americans have become ignorant to the true meanings of the words democracy and republic and even somehow misconstrue them to mean the same thing. Our founding fathers understood the difference of these terms, which is of great importance to our freedom. I will give you one quote of which there are many, many written by the founding fathers:

Daniel Webster said, “Hold on, my friends, to the Constitution and to the Republic for which it stands. Miracles do not cluster, and what has happened once in 6000 years, may not happen again. Hold on to the Constitution, for if the American Constitution should fail, there will be anarchy throughout the world.”

Our founding fathers had flawless perception to look upon the model of a democratic government with utter contempt. They only had to look to the Ancient Greeks. The governments under the city-states at that time grew out of control and tyranny was the end result. In contrast, when Rome was a Republic, they flourished and became wealthy. Freedom abounds with limited government. They were free to invent and produce and keep the fruits of their labor. That’s what grows an economy! Sadly, though, the people became lazy and forgot that the essence of freedom is the proper limitation of government. The leaders started acquiring more and more power and used this power corruptly. More and more restrictions were also instituted. The people eventually demanded the government take care of them and they traded freedom for “security”. Ultimately, the Roman Republic turned into the Roman Empire which ended badly for the people. They couldn’t even feed themselves and they were easily taken over.

History repeats itself when the people are ignorant of history or are unaware of what is going on around them and are lazy. Unfortunately, Americans have been very lazy about keeping the Republic – we resemble something more like the Roman Empire. All of our Constitutional Amendments, which our Founding Fathers put in place to protect us from tyranny, have been systematically destroyed. The only thing keeping the Republic from total ruin and the people free is our 2nd Amendment. As most of us know, as soon as a population of people is deprived by their government to defend themselves, they are slaughtered. According to one website, Russia killed 40 million of its people, China killed 50 million of its people and Germany killed 13 million people, and the list goes on and on. As you already know, gun control is all about control because it all starts with gun registration. It forces people to disclose that they have guns so they can be targeted for a future confiscation of their guns. Katie Worthman, Austrian born Hitler survivor states: In Nazi Germany after the guns were registered and the government decided to confiscate guns, if you didn’t comply and turn in your guns you faced capital punishment. It only took five years for the Nazis to gradually escalate up to a dictatorship. She warns us to keep our guns and buy more guns. And reiterates our Founding Father, Thomas Jefferson’s words, “When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

Placing the blame on “mental health” will only put New Yorkers (and Americans in general) in danger but coming from another angle. Instead of addressing the illogical and stupid implementation of gun free zones, they want to point the finger at mental health. Please don’t forget anyone can be labeled as a “nut” and if Obama gets his way with his forced Obamacare - they just might implement forced psychological exams. Recently, and truly astonishingly, a 5-year old child was suspended for ten days and forced to take a psychological exam because school administrators claimed that she wanted to “shoot” her classmate with a Hello Kitty bubble gun! Another small child was expelled from school for “making a gun” with his fingers and hand! Is this rational or normal ADULT behavior? This is a recent phenomenon and it should scare us all!

Isn’t it rather convenient that mental health “professionals” will all be under the auspices of the federal government because of Obamacare? Possibly the gun control legislation will be reevaluated and psychological exams will be required for gun ownership. The NY SAFE Act is just an acronym of doublespeak which will be used under the pretext of making children safer because “crazy” people won’t be able to get guns; however, it will have the greater purpose of disarming the people of New York. This can easily be imagined especially when we grasp the extent to which Progressivism can lead and the above mentioned examples of what was done to children - Governor Cuomo told us that New York is the Progressive capital of the world.

History teaches us what happens in a country when a government has gone bad. The tyrants in charge order the use of psychiatry as a tool of repression and then effectively label, commit, and eventually euthanize “dissidents” through their respective “health” programs. In Germany it started out as sterilization and quickly led to euthanasia of those considered “mentally ill”. Stalin used the diagnosis of schizophrenia to take care of political dissenters in that country. We live in dire times indeed. It really doesn’t take much to consider that we are going down the same road as countries before us: that under the guise of “mental health” determined political dissenters were diagnosed as “mentally ill”. Amazingly, but not surprising, if we understand how history repeats itself, we already have prominent politicians calling “mentally ill” people defective. Using mental health is a perfect set up, in an analysis of the whole thing.

Let us not be fooled in choosing the solution to be mental health legislation. Let us recognize “gun free zones” as the problem, not “mental health”. It is illogical indeed to enact gun control considering the real possibility of it turning into gun confiscation, especially bearing in mind Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin’s telling testimony during the Assembly’s debate on NY’s gun control legislation. Would rendering the entire state of New York into a gun free zone put everyone who lives here at risk? It has been proven time and time again that gun ownership has deterred crime, and statistics prove that gun confiscation has increased crime rates in places that guns have been banned, such as Australia where crime rates went up between 19 to 69% after their gun ban. Many Australians have warned Americans that once gun ownership is taken away, we will never get it back. They warn us, “Don’t think it can’t happen to you and be very vigilant regarding gun ownership.” Lately we've been hearing a lot from politicians and the media that guns are for hunting or self-protection, but that’s not what the Founding Fathers had in mind. Thomas Jefferson said: “The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." Does this sound extreme to you? I bet Governor Cuomo would think so. Here’s one more quote from Thomas Jefferson: “The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.”

The Constitution is the highest law of the land and ANY law enacted to be valid must be in agreement with the Constitution. Marbury vs. Madison states, “All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void.” Please work on repealing the NYSAFE Act, NOT replacing it. Constitutional-minded New Yorkers would agree that adding “mental health” laws to the already over-whelming amount of restrictive, redundant, and unnecessary laws will only hurt the cause of liberty of the people of New York, further destroying the Republic of the United States of America.

I commend you for your efforts. Have you considered going to a mall or just going door to door? I'd also try networking through C4L. There's gotta be a C4L meetup somewhere.

I'd encourage NY patriots to keep spreading the message of liberty. A tireless irate minority can affect change.

The founders would be ashamed at us for what we are putting up with.
