Student institutionalized and forcibly drugged for cussing at a professor

This is what is called. "mental health care" in this country. I call it "kidnapping, assault, attempted murder.' Health care, attempted murder... it is a fuzzy line...

(NEWSER) – A student is suing Columbia University after he was hospitalized against his will for 30 days—apparently for cussing out his Spanish professor, the Columbia Spectator reports. In his lawsuit, Oren Ungerleider admits to calling his professor a bitch in front of the class over a low grade. But he got the surprise of his life at 12:30am when the school's associate dean sent officials into his locked dorm room. The Columbia-Juilliard student refused to cooperate, and soon NYPD officers carted him off to St. Luke's hospital, according to the claim.

This kid hit the lottery.

Violation of 1st and 4th amendment rights. He may have violated some school policies, but those don't trump the Constitution (well, I'd like to think not).

Get a good lawyer and then retire.

Lima-1, out.

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

He probably had "oppositional

He probably had "oppositional defiant disorder", where you rebel against undue authority figures. The only treatment is tender loving medication. Heavy medication.

You will completely and

You will completely and utterly obey us.

Do not disrespect authority.

Do not swear at authority.

Failure to comply will result in imprisonment and forced injection of antipsychotic drugs.

Thank you, and have a nice day.

It's heartbreaking to see this talented "Columbia-Juilliard"

student crushed physically & mentally for his fiery outspoken temperament. I hope he & his twin brother find authentic & lucrative outlets to showcase their considerable talents:

Ah Columbia, the bankster's social engineering training center

If you read Gatto, or the history of where so much of the social engineering projects originated from, you'll find the flagship Columbia U. Looks like they're trying out a new program of negative reinforcement. The article states that there has been retaliation there for sexual harassment claims.

Got bad bad news for everyone

This is quite legal in many states - including CT.
It is a 72 hour hold law - of course "for your own good".

It is simple - someone of authority makes a claim that you may hurt yourself - the police then PHONE a DR who is on call who without fail will go along with the recomendation of the person "on scene". They will then be held for evaluation.

And if true (which I believe you're right about the 72 hours)...

...that is precisely the reason we should have a trial by jury.

With the jury being able to judge the rightness of the law, and not judge the defendant by a corrupt law.

I'm glad he's suing. He's doing the right thing.

Hopefully he will win!

But for swearing?

Foul language and disresepct for authorty is all that is pumped into the minds and hearts of the present younger generations through music, movies and television programs (or rather "programming").

Though I do not advocate swearing at a professor, it is not an offense that requires a 72 hour lockdown for mental evaluation.

The message being sent is to acquiesce, conform, and shut your mouth.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.

Well this is the police state

and what happens when we are all labelled mentally ill if we say anything against the powers that be.

Anyone can turn the system against you for any reason.

I hope he wins his lawsuit.

His $10 million lawsuit also names Continuum Health Partners as a defendant.
