Blizzard of '13 Open Thread: "This isn't the Little Nemo here"

I just wanted to wish all of you in the New England area good luck with the impending storm about to dump several feet of snow on our doorsteps. Boston through Southeastern MA will be looking at 2-3 feet of snow when all is said and done tomorrow morning.
Everyone take it slow, and be safe, and as Zappa says, "Don't eat the yellow snow"

Heart attacks cause by selenium deficiency, not shovels.

So the FDA discourages supplementation.

(Reggie Lewis died of a cardio-myopathy heart attack. A simple computer search at the library would have turned up the large-scale study showing the only known reason for cardio-myopathy to be a simple selenium deficiency.)"

Alll horseless carriage rides banned in Boston!

There is a better life. When it snowing gets tough, the tough get sledding. As the danger of horseless carriages disappears into snow drifts, how is best for a person to travel?

Global warming is real people..

When I was four. The snow was as high as my butt. Now the snow only reaches my knees.Al Gore was right. Our snow last week in Tennessee reached a half of a inch.

Money talks and dogs bark

You poor soul

How in the world did you cope?

That is unproven.

Seventy percent of energy produced by nuclear power plants is heat energy.

Of the 30 percent of electricity that is produced up two 25% is used to pump the water to cool the radioactive waste produced.

The whole nuclear programs was nothing but a huge waste of money and resources. Like Ethanol, it takes more fossil fuels to produce nuclear power than is produced by nuclear power.

Nuclear power plants have never turned a profit.

Nobody does stupid like government.

Aircraft have dumped tons of particulates in to the atmosphere trapping heat near the earth.

How many Megawatts are channeled to Haarp arrays to further confound the weather?

Global warming is primarily because our Solar heater is running hotter.

But government never let's a crises go to waste. Th carbon tax is meant to put CO2 producers out of business and produce a windfall for nuclear power plants than can sell their credits. It's all a giant scam.

It is beautiful

In Central MI right now. There is more snow than I have seen in a winter or 2. I love it, it makes me very happy. Hope all in New England are doing well, and that you all have power and heat.

Southeastern CT here

Been snowing since 7am...heaviest stuff supposed to come overnight. My fearless daughter just decided to go out for coffee with her friends. Oy vey I probably won't leave the house til the snow has all melted and gone away.
Spending the day cooking....

Colchester, New London County, Connecticut

Monday's supposed to be warm...

so you might not be housebound for very long Southeastern. I see you live in Cowchester, lol, my sister and her husband lived there many years ago. I hope that play on words doesn't offend.

Cowchester

We're getting ready to leave here anyway.........Not too fond of this town.
Yep, warming up. I'm supposed to head up to Ludlow MA to visit my dad Monday or Tuesday.

Colchester, New London County, Connecticut

We were supposed to get a blizzard last night

It did snow.... some. about an inch or two.

Blizzard coming tonight.

Here in NJ, some snow on and off, mixed with rain, which makes it really heavy. Tonight is the big show... New England will be hit worse than NJ but, it's supposed to be pretty bad wherever you are in the Northeast.
