An instrumental song I wrote and performed.

I've posted this on DP before. It is paired with some thoughts about life that I think have changed me for the better..Although Ron Paul is mentioned in the text, the message is more philosophical in nature rather than directly political.Hope you enjoy it.Link is at the bottom of this post.

Sorry it took me a min to get over here robhino

I love it. An Anthem for a New America was my favorite, but I also love White Christmas. Thanks for posting these and keep making music. It is so important. I'll keep checking out any new videos you post.

I dig What I Say! Dark and dirty!

Sounds good man. Are you the singer/songwriter? Thanks for sharing!

I am... on my better days...

Yes, I am in Nashville of all places... ha! It's the most common cliche here... to be a singer/songwriter. Thanks for listening and the kind words! I will update with a youtube of new tune... always been wanting to do a youtube.

Some great songs on here.

I write quite a bit as well but the only song I have that relates to the negative side of war is this one:
http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_8738783

I wrote this song about three years ago when a close friend of mine came back from Iraq and told me some of the terrible stories. The emotional part for me being a father of two little ones is that our military fight pointless wars and have to leave their loved ones behind.

Current group I play lead guitar for: http://matttuckermuusic.com

Finally pissed off enough to spread the word of Dr. Paul
Here's song I wrote for a close friend and wounded Iraq war veteran:

Hey SharkMan!

Great stuff! Caitlin rocks too, takes me back to the Nanci Griffith vibe. You can't edit the link to your current gig now that it has replies, so I'll do it for you...

Well... can you define "music?"

This does not really qualify, but it is what I have...

This one I like an awful lot.... for obvious reasons.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v333u25ejb4

This is pretty bad...

Everything else I did I accidentally deleted... perhaps evidence of a merciful God.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

WOW! Fishy!!

The lullaby is awesome! You should record it and sell it! My nieces would love that song!

I'd like to cover the third song!??! Would you mind? It's so cool and catchy! Can you post the lyrics and perhaps the chord progression?! I love it!

I remembered!

Here is a link to the original song with the chord progression:
http://www.cowboylyrics.com/tabs/snider-todd/conservative-ch...

And here are my lyrics:

Conservative Christian, right wing republican, straight white, American males,

Tree hugging, peace loving, pot smoking, porn watching, hippies that fill up our jails

All are enslaved by a currency based lie spewed by the 1% elite

Now we all stand together in crappy-ass weather to end their greed-economy.

Conservatives, democrats, gettin' past all that - - in search of freedom and peace.

skin color blinded, conspiracy minded, protesting corporate greed

We who have nothing and most likely will, till we all end up locked up in jail

by corporate goon-cops, and courts where justice flops, and prisons-for-profit set bail.

Diamonds and dogs, boys and girls getting together for a better world.

We dont' follow leaders up mountians of shame, we know that they are to blame.

To clarify, let me explain....:

The Fed and their debt notes, printed at interest then loaned out at interest again

Odious taxes they place on the backses of all of my peace loving friends.

By war and inflation the wealth of the nation was bled from 99%

from Conservative christian, right wing republican, straight white, american men.

and their tree hugging, peace loving, pot smoking, porn watching, barefootin' new hippie friends..

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

You are too funny

I would love to have you cover any tune you'd like. I'm in the middle of prep work for our rocket mass heater, it might take me a couple days to get you the lyrics / chords. You realize that third one is a spoof on someone else's song, right?

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

Those are great!

Very clever. Did you write all three?

Yes.

I used to be "not bad" but age and cigarettes... a little carpal tunnel.... and thanks, but so far from great... lol!

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

I can relate

Age, cigarettes, carpal tunnel.. when I used to rock and sing to my kids I know that they thought that I had the voice of an angel. Poor little Grandson.. not so much!

I really did enjoy your songs.

Laurelai

Love 'em!

Wow, such talent. Thanks.

...and this, my son is the one with the long beard.
