YouTube only allowing sign in with GMail account now?

For a long time, even though YouTube wanted me to use my Gmail name, I opted to still use my YouTube screenname, but this last time I tried to log in, it seems that it won't let me even do that any more. Looks like I'll never log in to YouTube again then. Oh well.

Gmail created my Youtube account
and no matter how many times I sign out, it still logs me in. I never signed up for it.

No thanks. Now I see what kind of people they are. Last year I did not have to. If they do so much to appease the PRC then I know what their mindset is. They should seek professional help imo. :)

No I did not,
but it signed my up for gmail automatically, but I never use it.

Wow really? It forced me to do this 2 years ago and I refused until it was mandatory and that was when I "walked away". Who knows what algorithm they use to make people login via gmail.

logged into youtube, using my regular, non-Gmail email account...
I do know that I regularly get prompted to change my youtube name--it appears "they" want me to use my real name. I always opt-out.
