I am pretty confident there

I am pretty confident there is more to the story than just Ron Paul suing these people.. so not like him... but then again, they are using his name...

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

One word

Bimbos.

But also, from what I understand Dr. Paul is NOT going through the UN. Those bimbos are not lawyers as much as I am.

I saw the website a while ago and what put me off was the RonPaul.com banner on all of their gear. It's self promotion. Not being fans of Dr. Paul.

And we have no clue if these folks sent money to the campaign. They definitely are offshore though, and not from the US.

We can't complain much because one of our own bought the romney/ryan website and we championed them even though it was a crummy website.

I think Dr. Paul should just register a DrPaul.com or something like that and be done with it, and then have the others withdraw their merch making money off of his name. It's like selling fake 49er merch.

I don't think we know the whole story though.

Actually I like DrPaul.com better than RonPaul.com.

Regardless of who

is in the right, if this situation goes all the way I have a feeling it will hurt Ron Paul more that RonPaul.com. It will probably easily cost more than $250,000 in donations by dampening the enthusiasm of the grassroots. On the other hand, Ron Paul would probably want to buy it out of his own pocket so maybe $250,000 is too much for him.

I'd imagine that Ron Paul probably has most of RonPaul.com's mailing list on his own list already.

Nobody watches Fox anymore.

and their whores. These people are fully aware of what they do and they have blood and war on their hands.

In all fairness, they have at

In all fairness, they have at least double the ratings of the other news shows..

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

Yeah...SO?

RT has far better CONTENT than Faux News.

For The Power of The Republic!

What does that have to do

What does that have to do with anything I wrote?

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

Bimbo BRAINS!

WHY WOULD ANYONE LISTEN TO THESE TURDS?

dave anderson

The PROBLEM is.....

they want too much money for the website, and he doesn't want to pay it. It's just too much money.

BREAKING NEWS: Ron Paul is the REAL Messiah

Forget Jesus. He was just the warmup act.

Property rights

It's important to note that RP isn't looking for the website, just his name. Without him, the website name is worthless, it's rightfully his. The website is rightfully theirs. It's pretty clear cut, and RP has always supported trademarks and property rights. This is very consistent. An easy way to think of this is that if RP changed his name, the domain would be worthless.

I think everyone seems to miss the mark regarding this subject

It's about "Intellectual property"! And if I understand it, it's not about stealing it's about monopolies. And Ronpaul.com if it is to be owned and not shared as "intellectual property" should be it should be taken down. I think Ron is right. He believes what he is doing is right. And the fact that some "apparent supporters" want to sell the domain for the price they are asking aren't really his supporter after all. I mean if Ron was to run again would they really show support to him by giving the domain name to him??? Obviously not. And so they aren't really his supporters in that sense. They are just monopoly men who are out there to make a buck just like the federal reserve. I'm sure you understand that "intellectual property" has made it very difficult for progress in this country. Just look at the dollar... is that not a piece of "intellectual property"?

Sacrifice for Liberty

It's the new mantra. Clearly, campaigning for liberty doesn't work.

Just give everything you have not yet given to Ron Paul. He'll figure it out. It's all for liberty after all.

Don't think. Just do it. Forget all his glorious speeches about...

"You're not entitled to another person's property. You're entitled to your life, your liberty and your property."

Don't think about his speeches against UN intervention or a free and open internet. Or, "You should do whatever you want. Spread the message. I really need you to make phone calls for me. Believe me. Wait until the establishment sees this."

Forget all of that. Forget your manhood, your womanhood, your integrity. Your sense of self-respect.

BLEED FOR RON PAUL!

Do you not own your body,

Do you not own your body, your likeness, your name? especially if it is as unique as Ron Paul..

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

According to Ron Paul, we're

According to Ron Paul, we're entitled to our body, property and life. We're not entitled to somebody else's property. A domain name purchased by grassroots activists 5 years ago on the free market belongs to them, not him.

What's to stop a politician from taking over our Meetups, blogs, groups, etc associated with them? He's a public figure that encouraged people to promote him, esp through the internet. Now he has a problem with it? And takes it up with the U.N., which he repeatedly tried to abolish.

How do you define "likeness"?

Likeness is your image. Is

Likeness is your image. Is it identity theft if they take a person's name and use it for their gain?

Let me ask you this. If ronpaul.com was filled with filthy nasty porn, kiddy porn, bestiality etc under Ron Paul's name, would he have a case or would you still argue that its not his property?

What if I put a website under your full name and used it as a hardcore gay dating site... with YOUR picture on it... Would you still argue that it's still my private property?

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

People do that.

That's why I encourage people to own their own domains. I wouldn't have a problem with somebody going to WIPO. But as a public figure, Dr. Paul should have owned his domain name. Or should have made an issue of it sooner.

The point here is this: Ron Paul champions liberty, free markets and non-intervention. He's sold us hook, line and sinker and many of us invested years of time; personal credibility with friends, coworkers, spouses, family; money; energy promoting him, his candidacy, his books and his message. The opportunity cost is massive and can never be repaid. And nobody's asking to be repaid. But to turn around and claim that we're vultures is more than I can stand. There's a lot I haven't said about Ron Paul. And I won't. But this is the line.

I don't see how he turns on us suddenly and claims supporters are using his likeness to profit off of him. That's ridiculous. When he's a politician, it's okay because he needs free labor to get votes. But now he's a businessman profiting from his trademark and it's not okay because they're encroaching on his revenues.

It's hypocritical.

Instead...

of having two bimbos giggling at one another about what they lie about as fact. Why doesn't that twat find a way to get Ron Paul on himself to have a debate and discuss to him what he's doing. I forget that reporters lack the back bone to actually talk to anyone right in their face when their bad mouthing them.

When Ron Paul asks for your

When Ron Paul asks for your car because it has a Ron Paul sticker, you should be honored to give your vehicle to him.

Consider it a sacrifice for liberty.

---
Edit: Why don't Ron Paul fanatics -- big difference between Ron Paul supporters and Ron Paul fanatics -- give their cars to him? They criticize RP supporters for not giving him essentially $250k worth of their property on top of the hours and effort that they've invested promoting him.

Ron Paul has not championed trademark issues. He has championed free market exchange, private property, abolition of the U.N., minimal government involvement, etc.

Airheads with low wattage, again, attacking the Champion...

...when they have the chance! I doubt they would ever have his lawyer on to tell the 'rest of the story'!

Of course Faux Pas news will never read, let alone air, the actual case. It would be too apparent that Ron Paul has a righteous case and that his name and property was held hostage for nearly one million FRNS!

Then again, I do not recall Fox actually concerning itself with TRUTH, or JUSTICE, or the cause of freedom!

They see an opening to lie and attack, so they do what they do best because it is the only thing they were designed to do...

DEFEAT LIBERTY AND PROTECT THE FEDERAL RESERVE!

Ron Paul is still feared! He will be feared long after he departs this mortal coil. His DNA has rubbed off on more than a generation of patriots!

The CFR hates and fears that truth! It is the stuff from which 'writing on the walls' is made!

Hahaha!

No offense book lady, but you're not as famous as Ron Paul. I get why RP is seeking the right to a website domain that is clearly not confused with any other Ron Paul. Unless one of the current owners of RonPaul.com are named Ron Paul, they should give it up.

And I don't buy this whole "attacking his supporters" bull. If you are a REAL Ron Paul supporter and the man himself is seeking the right to use his namesake.com to help further the liberty movement, you give it up. Consider that your sacrifice for Liberty. RonPaul.com is far more useful as the Home of the movement rather than a website that sells Ron Paul stuff and a blog.

A person thinking on the feet

A person thinking on the feet would have said sure it is yours I just want front page ad space..... The real Ron will bring in the crowds

Ron Paul could more than

Ron Paul could more than likely sue these folks for using his image on the site as well as merchandise. That just may cover the $250,000.00. It would be interesting to know how much money they have made off of riding Ron Paul's coat tail.

If I am not mistaking Ron Paul has a Trade Mark on his name.

Remember when you could type in www.whitehouse.com and come up with porn!

If The Site Is Supporter Based

then why not just team up? Who cares who owns what? Is it about the money or about spreading the word of liberty and freedom? It's not like Ron Paul to make it into a legal, corporate, money issue. Is Ron Paul even doing this or is it more of the BS manager crap we saw with the Campaign for Liberty? If I had to say RP had a major shortcoming it is for picking real jerks to run his affairs!

skippy

Read the case... don't 'skippy it'. :) Sorry, had to...

It became an issue when they tried to hold his name and it's property rights hostage for over $800,000... which was lowered later to $250,000!

The domain was evaluated at around 50,000 by Paul representatives, when they first actually offered to buy the domain names and protect his property rights! Coming back for a million was a huge attempt to hijack his property! The site owners cooked their own goose on this one!

Best to actually read the whole case. It is available.

'Faux Pas' news is avoiding the real issues, and as usual doing what they do best... slamming liberty and the cause of freedom! IE: protect the Fed and empire building... which equals... attack Paul!

His staff and family are not

His staff and family are not solely responsible for his miscalculations. Ron Paul is not perfect and Jesse Benton is not an evil monster. They're both human.

I read some time ago that Ron

I read some time ago that Ron Paul Trade Marked his name.... End of story if true... Anyway we don't know the whole story... We have only heard from the site owners... Have they told us everything? Who knows.

I went to the government

I went to the government trademark site and did a quick search...I couldn't find a trademark registration for 'Ron Paul'. It really doesn't matter though...RonPaul.com uses Dr. Paul's likeness, images, etc.
