New Vatican Throne! Pretty terrifying stuff

I'm not entirely certain who this is for, but it's certainly not in the image of jesus or anything holy. Add in the Popes "resignation, and the fact the Vatican was struck by lightning last night. The bible uses a lightning strike to describe lucifers fall from heaven. I'm speechless. Is this prophecy happening before our eyes?

Not quite that simple

Catholics certainly have always accepted the Revelation as part of the bible, but do not generally consider it as a prophecy of "End Times", which is mostly a 19th century Protestant invention.

My father,

when he was a pastor, put forward the theory that Revelation referred to a number of different things, including the upcoming Roman invasion of Jerusalem in 70 AD.

Just food for thought. Personally, I've given up on trying to figure out Revelation. Prophecies often don't make sense until they happen (or they're explained).

What catholics are supposed to believe

Lucifer being one of Gods most revered angels betrayed Him and was cast out of heaven into "hell" where he established his own kingdom. According to one of the vatican's experts in the story of satan's fall from grace, this mean satan was cast to earth where his kingdom was established. In other words, satan's kingdom is here on earth, not some lake of fire 500 miles below the earth's surface. And it makes sense in a lot of ways. Just look around, look at the corruption, crime, misery, etc.

Jesus was sent into satan's kingdom to prove to mankind that he/she can be saved from this hell that we live in. To turn against satan. This is why acts of human kindness appear as bright spots amid all else. Jesus set the examples and then died as a result of man's inclination towards corruption. The crucifixion was an act of betrayal and corruption. In some ways similar to Lucifers betrayal of God.

But Jesus rose above all that in a glorious way to demonstrate there's a better way... That goodness can overcome evil. It's a story meant to inspire us to live according to our best impulses as human beings instead of our worst.

it's only terrifying if you believe in fairy tales

lighting strikes are not anything more than what they are, lightning.

Where is this "throne" located?

What building? City?
.
Edit,

nevermind, found more at : http://www.google.com/search?q=Throne+at+vatican&hl=en&tbo=u...

Does look eerie. Not sure I could feel comfortable in that room.

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Something about the whole thing...

...is significant. I'm just not sure what yet. But with everything going on so fast and so often, then this...yeah...something is up! Too weird!

Wow. I thought people knew how evil the vatican was

The epicenter of concealing child molestation has its leader(the pope) resign for the first time in 600 years, then gets struck by lightning on the same day, and it's a coincidence? I guess the haters gonna hate.

Very Creepy Sculpture

I just did some quick research, the sculpture is supposed to be of Jesus emerging from a nuclear blast???
I must have overlooked that bit in the new testament...

Anyways for more info:

They can call it whatever they want but...

I've never seen Jesus depicted as anything other than peaceful in any church painting/statue. To have a statue in the biggest church of depict him in such a twisted way doesn't make sense.

that definitely wasn't in my church either

on one hand though - it is a stunning work of bronze sculpture

on the other hand, the artist would of had to propose the work before casting, and someone would have had to cough up quite a bit of cash to get that built...
