"Give Us a Libertarian King"

"This is how a king will reign over you," Samuel said. "The king will draft your sons and assign them to his chariots and his charioteers, making them run before his chariots.

"He will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and of fifties, and some to do his plowing and to reap his harvest and to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots.

"He will also take your daughters for perfumers and cooks and bakers.

"He will take the best of your fields and your vineyards and your olive groves and give them to his servants.

"He will take a tenth of your seed and of your vineyards and give to his officers and to his servants.

He will take your male servants and female servants and the best of your young men and your donkeys, and put them to his work.

He will demand a tenth of your flocks, and you will be his slaves.

When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day."

But the people refused to listen to Samuel. "No!" they said. "We want a king over us.

???

I think Libertarian/King is an oxymoron.

The bold effort the present bank had made to control the government ... are but premonitions of the fate that await the American people should they be deluded into a perpetuation of this institution or the establishment of another like it-Andrew Jackson

It is. That was my point.

It is. That was my point.

Every time I hear fanatics say, Ron/Rand Paul 2016, I hear that scripture: "Give Us A King."

Your going to

have to pick someone to vote for in 2016 (hopefully) I don't think there will be a Ron/Rand ticket but maybe a Rand 2016 one. An idea without someone to take it to the highest levels of government is just an idea that eventually dies. So if people want to put hope in and get behind Rand or Ron or anyone else that has the chance to get our message into the mainstream spotlight has got my support. I wouldn't equate support for a candidate to wishing for a king nor would Rand or Ron ever want you to think of them in this light.

I'll bump to that

Thank you.

How did we go from ideas to men?

He's the man.

I second that bump.

The power of liberty is in its message, not its messenger. And while individuals who we admire in the liberty movement change or pass away, the most powerful event was not them exercising their personal power to change the system directly, but rather them passing the torch of liberty to the next generation.

Even if Ron Paul were elected, his presidential powers would of failed in comparison to the impact that he has had on "spreading" the message of liberty. In this way the message survives multiple generations and is beyond any one individual.

Trash thread

As asinine as Obama's State of the Union.

Our King

Then Isiah prophesied:

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and THE government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor,[a] Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will REIGN on David’s throne
and over HIS KINGDOM,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this.

Our King liberated us a little over 2000 years ago when He brought back THE government that Adam lost, (The Holy Spirit). All we have to do now is believe that we are the kings that God created us to be in Genesis 1:26, knowing that the Holy Spirit has returned to guide us. With all that's going on in this world, I have to constantly remind myself that I'm in the world but not of the world. I consider myself to have dual citizenship, one in the US and the other in the Kingdom of God. In the latter, our King is a benevolent King who love to give, even to those who don't deserve it. One is hard pressed to find that kind of spirit at any level of government here IN the world.
God Bless the people of this world, especially those who don't know yet that they need you. Lift our spirits and guide our leaders to understand the true liberty that You afford and why it's best that we all have it according to Your perfect will. In Jesus Name. AMEN
