Announcement may reduce pressure on Congress to move ahead with CISPA, a controversial privacy bill that's loathed by privacy groups and is scheduled to reappear tomorrow.
President Obama invoked the pageantry of his State of the Union address this evening to announce a long-anticipated executive order on cybersecurity, a move that caps months of discussions with technology companies and could reduce pressure on Congress to move forward with controversial new legislation.
The order will "strengthen our cyber defenses by increasing information sharing, and developing standards to protect our national security, our jobs, and our privacy," Obama said.

Most the news coverage on these executive orders are horrible. Because you have to look up how several words are defined in different sections of federal code. But basically the cyber security crap they've been pushing is Goverment getting even more involved in the private sector and info sharing. A wide definition of the type of information they can share, along with the secrecy and limited liability makes it hard to believe the Feds just want to help secure companies networks.
And Looks like CISPA's back on the table... time to flood your representatives emails and phones.

I'm just wondering
why the Anons haven't taken over a drone and carpet bombed the whitehouse. I mean, they're really pissed and all and they probably have the ability. Not that I would suggest they do it.. I would never do that.

My Reps don't care
I used to contact them a lot until I realized that they always, 100% of the time, voted for their own interests and never in line with the Constitution.
Mine don't either.
I get lectures that are worse than reprimands.
