Libertarian Party = waste of resources

RE waste of resources

You mean like raising and spending $60 million dollars (twice) on Republican presidential campaigns that never make the November general election ballot? $110 million dollars on 2 campaigns that couldn't make the ballot? A task the LP manages to achieve every time with significantly less campaigns funds of $1million to $2 million.

A waste of resources is spending $60m to NOT achieve, what IS achievable with $1m. But that's the way Republicans and Democrats roll, as evidenced by the financial condition they have our country in today.

Fancy Shmancy Fine Print:

I mean like in its 50 year existence not raising anywhere near what Ron did inside the Republican Party. I mean getting less than 1% of the vote in ever presidential election since the 80's. I mean not having one elected federal official in office.

The LP is a huge waste of time. It should close up shop and you all should join the republican party

The LP doesn't do that well financially

But the fact they nominate Republicans for president.. the shoe fits.

Very nice response.

Well done, Carla!

Do we stay or do we go (L)?

The question is an ongoing debate it seems.

IMO we are already 3rd party.

Delegates unseated, congressional chairs unseated, media blackouts and stupid jokes...What more could you ask for?

If we cannot unite and see what TPTB are capable and culpable of then we really have to ask WTF.

She is very well spoken

Thank you for posting this, I was about to google it myself but stopped in here first.

I am captivated by what she has to say and I hope she goes far.

I suspect Carla Howell will

I suspect Carla Howell will run for John Kerry's senate seat, haven't seen the vid yet. No big name candidates are running and she has surprisingly high name recognition here.

10-15 million more voters need to believe in non-interventionism (liberty) at home and abroad to change America. Minds changed on Syria. Minds changing on privacy. "Printing money" is part of the dialogue. Win minds through focus, strategy.

Excellent response

Was it aired? She looks like a liberal, but isn't!!!!!

MA Candidate

Is she from Mass? She is real! Clear, concise, articulate, accessible, hope she runs...

She Almost Got Massachusetts' Income Tax Repealed

Carla was behind the effort to repeal the MA income tax that almost passed. She's great.

She campaigned against Romney over the tax.

You can read more here: http://www.centerforsmallgovernment.com/

She's on leave to work at the LP.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Already a decent candidate

Daniel Fishman declared his run as a Libertarian. He pulled 4% of the vote when he ran for the 6th district seat. He is somewhat well known because he participated in debates.

better than Priebus

I rather pay dues to Carla Howell, than pay dues to Reince Priebus.

Pay Attention to My Post and Page Title

and also notice that is was the way the url was created for the post. Now go to Google and keyword search for: libertarian response to sotu (although not a hugely searched keyword) it is second in the results. Want to bring more people to the DP? Want to help Michael keep his ad revenue up? Give your post titles that are meaningful and that people would type into the search engines. Think, what would someone type into Google if they were looking for this info.

Why is this on the front page

but not Rand's response??

in a word...

hers is better. Sorry, but it's true.

Please don't

start this fight here. Make a post on a thread that already exists (there are 2, currently).

Lima-1, out.

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

Third Party advocate

I have no use for political parties, especially the Republicans and Democrats, who have been slowly destroying our country for the past 100 years. That is why my voter registration reads "Independent". And although I have been a long time conservative, and remain so in many of my views, I find my political beliefs leaning more toward the libertarian side. As an "Independent" voter, I like to call myself a "Conservatarian".

I also realize that as much as I would like to see political parties disappear, that is just not going to happen, so I pay attention to what is being said by alternate third parties. Send this video to your friends, not as an endorsement of the Libertarian Party, but more as an opportunity to let them know we can do better than what is foisted upon us by the Republicans and the Democrats. In my opinion, voting should not be about casting your vote for the candidate that you think has the best chance of winning (the "wasted vote" syndrome), but rather voting for that candidate that best represents what you believe. For that reason, it will serve you well to pay attention to what third parties have to say.

All we have to do now is

All we have to do now is figure out how to beat the voting machines.
