Lost interest in dailypaul more and more since the Elections. Too extreme. Anyone agree ?

Since the elections it seems the topics are all so focused on things like the Newton shootings being a gov operation extreme ideas .. Maybe it is because there is no more focus on Ron Paul so the topics have drifted..

Anyone else like me and not extreme and would rather concentrate common sense libertarian ideas? The Alex Jones stuff is fun and I agree with some things he says but its not what I want to be associated with..

I liek Rand Paul some but he has to appease the right wing people to the point where theres not that much to get excited about with him.. well.. atleast he is not as exicted to goto war as the others.. thats better than most..

I listen to the Joe Rogan podcast and Adam Carola podcast and they seem to talk aobut alot of common sense things that I agree with and wish there was someone like them I could get behind and vote for..

Im not religious.. I just want people to be responsible for themselves and gov to leave me alone and leave other countries alone ... if you must spend more money for tanks.. id rather it spent towards helping our own people ..

anyone with me? Tired of the extreme stuff and just want someone to talk common sense?? or just go ahead and rage on me now if you like..

I don't entirely agree...

with the idea that we don't need any government. The failure of the Articles of Confederation proved we needed a government with SOME teeth behind it... just not enough teeth to enable tyranny.

That being said, I do share your feelings about Rand's apologists. Rand endorsed Willard over his own father on national television. He's a sellout, a traitor, and not to be trusted.... PERIOD.

The AOC was destroyed merely

The AOC was destroyed merely because the oligarchs wanted more power. There was no necessity for it whatsoever. Further the AOC was abused to create a "national debt" in the name of the American people which then led to the conjob [constitution]. All government is an unnecessarily evil. "An expropriating property protector is a contradiction in terms." ~Hans-Hermann Hoppe

"Show me the government that does not infringe upon anyone's rights, and I will no longer call myself an anarchist." ~Jacob Halbrooks

Consolidation of power

I haven't read into yet but it does seem more and more that the Constitution is a document for circumventing the power of the States. I recently picked up Hans Hermann Hoppes "Democracy: The God That Failed" and from some of the reviews (one by Stephan Kinsella) he trashes the notion that a Constitution would necessarily be needed in a society based upon Voluntarism and/or Anarcho-Capitalism. So from what I read online it's going to be quite a ride to the end of the book!

The conjob gave the central

The conjob gave the central government-empire the direct power to affect, with violence, the individual "citizens" [slaves] within the "united states." It radically increased the power of the central government, which was already far too powerful and corrupt involved in distributing seized lands in the west to political favorites and political speculation in the "national debt" it allowed the empire to create. It established additionally the common law violation of the right of jury trial in all civil cases, conscription, eminent domain [theft], standing armies [to enforce the direct theft-taxation] and much more, almost all of which the anti-federalists pointed out and explained that the BOR couldn't rectify, especially after their efforts there were watered down by compromise with the federalist scumbags. And none of it was necessary. The people defeated the British empire without any of it. The politicians the brainwashed call the "founding fathers" were mostly doing a lot of irrelevant talking and writing, pretending to be important, while the real fight occurred elsewhere, conducted by individuals and militias. When they did fight, it was incompetent, retarded and unnecessary line-em-up and take turns shooting European top-down military style. Washington only got a lot of people killed and slowed down the victory. Long live General Charles Lee!

If you really think the Constitution is a "con-job,"

you're on the wrong website and support the wrong candidates. May I suggest Hillary or Rubio?

The conjob was a radical

The conjob was a radical power grab for the central empire. The AOC were already far too powerful and totally unnecessary. The conjob was the establishment of fascism in Amerika. See above response.

Yin Yang

Everything has its place. Some need to portray an extreme character, like AJ, and some keep doing their own thing by educating people and waking them up with calmness and clarity.

The common goal is Liberty and there are many uncommon ways to get there. It's all about the individual journey we all set upon.

What your post did here was create division between what you think is common sense and what is not and you alienate people who, unlike you, have rage in their hearts for what's going on and seek extreme expressions for them to be heard. I am actually NOT one of those people but I appreciate their passions for putting themselves out there like I couldn't.

So, let's realize we're all in this together and appreciate each other for what we are all trying to strive for: Freedom for ALL.

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience"—Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Ron Paul's America

the new radio show beginning next month i expect will once again get the freedom, liberty movement
back into focus, moving forward and growing by leaps and bounds.

and as lew rockwell has stated: it's only the beginning.

I'm glad to see that there's still a market

for freedom.

He's the man.

I disagree

This site is very bland and actually needs to go more into the conspiracy theory direction. Most libertarians are still uninformed of what is really going on.

but still find some interesting stuff on here. Sea slug sheds penis and grows another sounds intriguing. a lot of negativity not a lot of unity

Nope. Current events and politics viewed differently than what

the media wants you to swallow. Some people are more comfortable getting their news from FOX or CNN, which only tell you what they want you to hear.
DP offers many views on everything. Why do you think all the heated arguments?...Because there are so many differing views and people actually discuss the events happening.
The diversity in types of people on DP make it seem more like what the real world is really like instead of a brightly lit studio with talking heads shoving lies at you.

+1. Exactly, ralph.

+1. Exactly, ralph.

People here love to disagree. Like anywhere else.

But people here ALSO love to THINK DIFFERENTLY from the others (or, sometimes, everybody else).

UNLIKE everywhere else, I suspect.

Only extreme news sells.

IT has nothing to do with the daily paul. You can post noncontroversial topics all day long. No one is going to read or upvote it though. Only the extreme stuff or controversial headlines get the votes and hence the audience. Which is fine. Maybe we need an Editor's Choice list of columns for people less interested in the extreme and more interested in day to day activism updates?

Extreme are the difficulties that we face. How is intellectual discussion about problems and solutions more extreme than making us pay for the poisoning of our air, water and food; the savaging of people all across the globe; the dumbing down of our public; the reckless spending of money that isn't there; the military approach to law enforcement; the sabotaging of elections; the blatant lying to the public; the distraction by entertainment; the funneling of drugs and guns to be used against us; the constant devaluation of our currency; and generally sabotaging human society to further a tyrannical agenda?

How is this too extreme?

I believe that what we are lacking are the teeth to become more extreme in the demand of our natural rights and the natural rights of all mankind. The criminals are extreme my friends. Do not be fooled into thinking that the reality facing us is anything short of extreme. Difficult as it may be we must face these issues with the fortitude to solving the problems. Chat on, chat on!

plus 10 !!!

Life is extreme...it is not

Life is extreme...it is not mainstream or average for many, although you are conditioned to feel that way on purpose...everything is fine, just go to sleep, rationalize the extremes away with happy average sitcom thoughts. Just pretend that the extreme elements do not exist, and everything can be solved with mainstream talk radio bedtime stories.

"The Alex Jones stuff is fun and I agree with some things he says but its not what I want to be associated with..."

Well, that says it all. The TRUTH is EXTREME. I'm going to bed. Goodnight.

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

Excellent comment.

Superb, in fact.

One YEAR of DP's *TRASH* is worth one DAY of *TOP RATED* New York Times' content (in quality/accuracy/fairness/you name it).

Let us not forget this basic arithmetic law.

Please. :)

These posts fascinate me

Because they come up non stop.

Go scroll through the newton threads and you won't see one post by me...want to know How I am so positive of that. Because I didn't hardly look at those threads. Just ignore them its easy. Now we have the view counter thing which is cool, so if you don't look at them they won't show up.

I used to defend 911 truthers.

Now I just ignore them too.

I am a believer in a completely free and voluntary society, but I don't tell anybody that at work. They would think I am crazy. Here I get to see extreme and radical ideas, but I don't look at them all.

Sure there are plenty of common sense solutions out there; but are you high? Are you going to start a common sense solutions party and run politicians in Washington DC? Common sense and DC go together like ketchup Popsicle and white gloves on a warm day in Alabama. You aren't going to get anything changed in DC until at the very minimum the media starts reporting on the situation in a truthful manner.

That is a hard thing to do. The media is in bed with the corruption and the people are so f'n brain washed they want to believe in the ferry tale about how great the government is. They won't bite the hand that feeds them (neither the media or the masses). DC is a waste of time.

And that's why the conspiracies are a waste of time (most of the extreme ones). Nobody wants to believe them so even if they were true the media would lose viewers. There is so much awful shit the government does right out in plain sight that they won't even cover why would they cover a really big conspiracy. Shit ain't going to change.

Why do you need someone to get behind? Join a book club, hell any club, learn how to become a good speaker (join toast masters) and talk about a peaceful foreign policy. That where this gets to changing is when your neighbors and your friends and your coworkers see how stupid the game is...you know real human interaction. The key is to get good at it and not come off as crazy. Most people will agree there is no need for the largess in the military unless you are at a neocon fest.

Why make a post on here about how you have lost interest b/c its too extreme? Find a way to spread the message in your neck of the woods. IT doesn't have to be some big thing, but you can casually slip in hints into any conversation. The key is you have to engage as many people as you can; nicely, peacefully, and intelligently. Who knows, you may just run into some crazy extremist and you can send them here.

Me Personally...I like the extreme and I am so glad the election are over...this is when DP is fun!

"Common sense and DC go together like ketchup Popsicle"

Good point. But can we all look closer. How many "sane" co-workers pray to Jesus for a parking space on a busy street? How many believe in miracles while spend hours on rational thinking? Ketchup popsikle is everywhere - Washington is the best we can offer, on average.

Dude crazy people are everywhere

DC is full of sociopaths hungry for power and some are there for money. Scum of the earth. Can't even compare them to folks who pray for a parking spot. While idiotic, it really is just a form of meditation, and meditation or pray rarely ever kills anyone. DC on the other hand rob 330 million people a day and kill at will.

what's really extreme is Obama

so no.

You'll probably see an uptick...
