Fed Prints $60 Billion in 7 Days, Gold Prices to Follow

In the last seven days alone the Federal Reserve has introduced $60 billion dollars in fresh cash into the system. At an annualized pace this amounts to $3.12 trillion in new money, more than 100% of the Fed’s current balance sheet sitting at about $3 trillion. In one week alone the Fed has introduced money worth more than 136% the market capitalization of Costco (FYI: “COST” market cap is $44 billion).

$3 trillion x 100 = $300 trillion per century.

Why do those Monopoly Money creators carry on so?

Why does anyone believe the world owes them a living?

Perhaps we could purchase COST @ cost of $44 billion.

Stop feeding the Fed. Cannot afford the feed cost.

The Fed feed cost @ $60 billion / week, will soon starve those that continue to feed it & eventually the Fed itself. Take about a week or two, I recon.

Fed has inifnite ability to print, but capital is still scarce

Like you said, the Fed may have infinite money to print, but that money and the investment consumption patterns it helps define draw down on real resources which are scarce.

The Fed cannot feed this bubble ad infinitum. The fact that the Fed is continually needing to print more to support asset prices and bond prices shows the diminishing returns of their efforts which is leading toward the inevitable collapse of the Fed bubble.

They either turn of the monetary spigot and face the music or continue printing indefinitely, which as Mises said is the road to hyperinflation as confidence in the currency collapses.

Clearly if items for sale can be sold for mountains of cash.

If cash mountains are squirreled away, I don't know what squirrels will do. Capital you say? Several meanings.

I do agree that real resources for sale ought to fetch a fair price. Just seems that what we refer to a a monetary system ain't. Somebody jumped our Silver Dollar claim. Since 1913, they been claiming our Dollar is elastic. First sentence in the Federal Reserve Act, 1913.

Cannot mint paper-dollars and more than young cubs can mint paper-dolls.

I write fiction. I make no bones about it. I write up a story to sell. Many such articles are made up. Many have no bound.

The Fed is a fictional promise printer. I am a fiction writer. But I repeat myself.

Great Twain Personifcation

Capital has been skewed to mean more than it is. Capital is not a nominal variable. Capital is distinctly the real resources used to produce more resources. Monetary printing presses or the digital creation of money embody about as much capital as homeopathic remedies do their ailments.

Thank you.

On this, you, Mr Webster, and I can agree. The meaning of capital, that is.

I will pass along your regards to him. Much obliged.
