In the news this week, a Southern California man was put under 72-hour psychiatric observation when it was found he owned 100 guns and had (by rough estimate) 1 million rounds of ammunition stored in his home. The house also has a secret escape tunnel.
The television reporter said: "Wow! He has about a million machine gun bullets!" and the headline referred to it as a "massive weapons cache."
By California standards someone owning even 100,000 rounds would be called "mentally unstable".
In Arizona , he'd be called "an avid gun collector."
In Oklahoma, he'd be called "a novice gun collector".
In Utah, he'd be called "moderately well prepared", but they'd probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food.
In Montana , he'd be called "the neighborhood 'Go-To' guy".
In Idaho, he'd be called "a likely gubernatorial candidate".
In Louisiana, he'd be called "an eligible bachelor".

In Texas, he'd be called "a Hunting Buddy”.
In Wyoming
he would be considered a socialist :)

Helps me forget a minute how sad I am to see our beautiful California poisoned with so much of that statist mentality we see and hear every day all around us.

Very nice humorous touch. I've been so focused on individual liberty: I forgot that states have unique characters as well. When the empire dissolves, maybe states will gain more confidence in pursuing different forms of government.

as law makers slowly continually squeezed our citizens nooses. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Hopefully more people start turning off the tv, and start getting more involved at the local levels.

Mental institutions are quite the little rat trap. Once there, the only way you can get out is to admit you are mentally ill. Proclaiming your sanity will be called "denial" and they cannot possibly let a mentally ill patient out if the person is not dealing with their issues now, can they?

Even after all the "Treatment" the wise "authorities" to give these poor "mentally ill" people, when the psychoanalyst turns up to assess their sanity, these "nut-cases" usually end up trying to hump their leg while drooling on them!
