Saudi preacher gets off light for raping, killing daughter. (US will remain silent since its Saudi)

OP: We have the Pope resigning based on covering up child sex scandals for decades and now this. All I can say is I'm proud to be an Atheist! Mythology be damned.

A Saudi preacher who raped his five-year-old daughter and tortured her to death has been sentenced to pay "blood money" to the mother after having served a short jail term, activists said on Saturday. Lamia al-Ghamdi was admitted to hospital on December 25, 2011 with multiple injuries, including a crushed skull, broken ribs and left arm, extensive bruising and burns, the activists said. She died last October 22.

Fayhan al-Ghamdi, an Islamic preacher and regular guest on Muslim television networks, confessed to having used cables and a cane to inflict the injuries, the activists from the group "Women to Drive" said in a statement. They said the father had doubted Lama's virginity and had her checked up by a medic.

Randa al-Kaleeb, a social worker from the hospital where Lama was admitted, said the girl's back was broken and that she had been raped "everywhere", according to the group. According to the victim's mother, hospital staff told her that her "child's rectum had been torn open and the abuser had attempted to burn it closed."

A Preacher brings Good News. A Murderer is a Murderer.

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

As a Libertarian, I advise you to be vigilant and

treat each individual separately based on his or her actual actions, not for a group affiliation. Since religious and socialists share the same morality of sacrificing an individaul man to an abstract entity (universal neighbor or society), I do not see why one group is much better than another. Both do not use rational faculty consistently - they blindly believe in a dogma, then use rational faculty to rationalize that dogma.

Criminality is on the rise when people do not dedicate their lives to PRODUCTIVE activities. Looking from historical prospective, Sharia Law today is Christianity 300 years ago. Russia ended its serfdom slavery only in 1861.

don't throw the baby out with the bathwater!

Some of us know what scam, man made, false system of religion do for tyrants, and to individual souls!

Jesus likened the Kingdom of God to a tiny mustard seed, and that grew to be the greatest tree of all; and all the birds of the air(deniers and disobedient to the actual GOOD and wholesome tenets of that pure religion Thomas Jefferson even knew of) would come and make their nests in its branches!

Look, we know them by their fruits; please don't assume to know that no Creator exists...seek Him while He may be found..repent for breaking His laws, and be reconciled! His promised far outweigh the ridicule and scorn of men, kings, and those in authority over us in this life!

Sunni/Saudi Theofascism

Of course the US will be silent. 15 of the 19 hijackers on 911 were Saudi subjects and US leaders did nothing. All the hijackers were members of the extremist Wahhabi sect and Wahhabism is the official sect of the Saudi Royal family. Wahhabism is also a nightmare for women and this article is a prime example. But Obama and Bush say Saudi Arabia is a US "ally" and even bow to the King. Hmmm??

We have a pope resigning from old age

The Church has repented for the crimes (some of us think the Church was infultraited for scandal).. The Church has made corrections, and I know that at my Church, the preist isn't mplesting anyone, and I don't know of any. You have no idea what you are talking about. You have a claim against the Church, file it, Church has been paying for the corruption.

The Pope does not deserve your defense

Most Catholics are fine people. The hierarchy of the Church is just another corrupt government and the Pope is the head of the corruption.

This is the article that got my posting privileges revoked:
http://bklim.newsvine.com/_news/2013/05/12/18212165-dr-stan-...

The pope did nothing wrong

What was wrong, was that this happened under Saint John Paul, who was so loved, too much time went by before something was seriously done to correct it. Ratzinger never got the love, just the blame. In truth, he has done many good things, and I think his retirement is a good thing. I think it's better to have someone who is younger, healthier and able to mutlitask more. I think this is a very healthy move.

I can't believe you are saying this.

1. The church saying they are sorry and truly repenting is good.
2. You saying some of you think the church was infiltrated is like when Hillary defended Bill's sex in the oval office saying it was a "right wing consiracy". Priests using the name of God to rape children is evil on earth.
3. The church has made corrections? Oh, like sending the priest to another church or counseling or taking away their priviliges like Cardinal Mahoney? How about calling the police and excommunication?
4. How do you know at your church the priest is not molesting anyone? Are you with them 24/7? I do pray it has stopped.
5. Just how much is enough for a church pay to assuage their guilt in covering up child rape?

This is what I know

The Church has taken a NO TOLERATION stand.

Go to any Catholic Church and accuse the preist.. have it in writing, send a copy to the paper, and the preist can lose his job, just for being questioned.

Make your claim. The Church accepts ALL claims of abuse and will act on them.

ALL employees, preist, deacons, nuns, secretarys, andyone working with children MUST BE REGISTERED with the police and sheriff.

These messages are on many programs for Sunday mass.

Everyone at ALL Catholic Churches is happy about NO TOLERENCE RULES.

We don't even want to wait for a guilty charge from the state unless the amount being asked is beyond the ability of the Church to pay. The perpetrator will lose their job, and not be hired or transfered to another Church.

I know of NO Church that has adopted such stringent and fast rules.

Do you?

When I was 15, I ran away from home and attended many Christian Churches that had more than their fair share of letches and pervs.. just because they don't make headlines news National or International, does not mean it is not happening.. and the same goes for any organization, school business working with Children.

Children are precious to the catholic Church. We have sinned, we are sorry, we have paid victims, many who remain with the Church, and we have adopted policies and rules to correct what was VERY VERY WRONG, infiltrator or immoral preist.

Well,

at our parish you don't have to register with the police to work with children. You have to submit to a background check and watch a video about child abuse. I know this because I taught CCD for years.

Here's a link if you care to watch it:

Here's a link to our Abuse policy (nothing about losing their job just for being questioned- A priest is a priest for life, only the Vatican can laicize a priest- source: my uncle, he's a priest):

Hate to break it to you but the Church sex abuse scandal has Ratzinger's hands all over it and his papacy was a slap in the face to the victims.

"In an April 8, 2005, letter to Ratzinger, Cote wrote that the "trail of destruction caused by Thomas W. Shea is staggering." He wrote there were at least 15 credible cases of abuse by Shea of girls under the age of 18, including one girl who tried to kill herself three times before she turned 23.

"The psychological, emotional, and spiritual damage wrought by this man is immeasurable,'' Cote wrote. "The people who have been directly affected by his behavior as well as the entire People of God would welcome his involuntary dismissal from the clerical state."

Cote's letter was sent to the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, the office that decides whether accused priests should get so-called canonical trials that could eventually lead to their being defrocked.

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, before he became Pope Benedict XVI, headed the Vatican office in charge of ordering canonical trials from 1981 to 2005. Only the Vatican can take away a priest's powers.

On May 12, 2005, less than a month after Ratzinger became pope, the Vatican responded to Cote, denying his request to remove Shea. The letter indicates that the status quo — Shea in retirement with the restrictions not to wear a collar or say Mass — was sufficient.

http://articles.courant.com/2012-08-04/news/hc-norwich-pries...

status quo eight years ago

Shea in retirement with the restrictions not to wear a collar or say Mass — was sufficient.

RETIREMENT..
RESTRICTIONS NOT TO WEAR A COLLAR
OR SAY MASS

How is Shea not removed? He can't say mass. That appears to be a removal to me.

Furthermore, I bet if you had more evidence since 2005 you would post it.

Go for it. The Church is Universal, as it was, is and shall be world without end forever and ever. Shea will NEVER be allowed to say that at the Alter of the Trinity and all the Angels and Saints.

That's like being cst into Hell. What do you believe the Church should do?

I thnk every thinking person on earth would want this man dead

in the most painful way known to man. (if they ever found out what he did)

Boiled alive?

Skinned then placed into salt water, then boiled alive?

I could think of other more creative ways.. to end his existence. Most of which are things that should not be posted on public forum.

The media

doesn't report anything on Saudi. This went on there today...
