Today is the day that I have come to Christ.

Update for those you are criticizing me over my language. I apologize for the error in the use of my language, but know that it is my intent that is important. I will continue pursuing my relationship with God so that I can strengthen my belief in love.

It has been a day of celebration for me today. Today is the day that I have come to Christ.

I am sharing my story with you to invite you to join in the celebration of my wonderful gift!

I would very much like to share the wonderful news of God revealing himself to me as Jesus Christ! I have been right in my heart with God for a long time, but I have not been a Christian. I have long believed that I died and was reborn a long time ago. However, the message came from God directly and not through the absorbing the teachings of Christ. I didn't understand why God would need to send Christ, thus I never recognized him for Him.

I do believe that when it is said cometh through me, it means that the actual values I am describing did not exist prior to the occurrence of Christ. This was my misconception, because this value was naturally in my heart, and was not taught and was merely self evident, I assumed that prior to Jesus Christ this was the case.

I had heard the words of men “God through Christ” many times and denied them; this is because it is not the case! I am a skeptic of men! I trust no man! God has said to trust only him. And I have written the following and included statements made by Jesus as evidence. This is my testimony.

The problem was that I had not ever sought teachings of Christ words directly. They are nothing more than the truths that I already proclaim in my heart to be self-evident, that I would argue is the core of our libertarian philosophy----Do unto others as you would have them do unto you! Love thy neighbor as thyself.

But we know so little of love that it was necessary for Jesus Christ to come and teach its meaning. I came to Christ through God, from internal reflection –dialogue with God- but I did not come to God through Christ. I was always with God, but the values of which I speak did not exist prior to Christ.

I've spent most of the day today reading the words of Jesus Christ, and sharing my testimony with those who are closest to me. It is cause for great celebration for I recognize him for Him!

John 6:44-45 - So Jesus answered them, "Do not grumble among yourselves. Nobody comes to me unless he is drawn to me by the Father who sent me, and I will raise him up when the last day comes. In the prophets it is written -'And they shall all be taught by God,' and this means that everybody who has heard the Father's voice and learned from him will come to me.

I see now that this message I received from God-- the teachings of Christ, had not been given to world until Christ. I understand that Christ was necessary to deliver the message of the true meaning of God's Law, which is unconditional love. Through this it has been revealed to me and I believe that Christ is the Lord.

We are the judge of no men! We have no jurisdiction over any man, and those who claim they do are evil. I cannot punish a man for anything- when I have no jurisdiction over him to begin with! This applies to murderers even, we must not be angry with them lest we be committing ourselves to stand his trial! We have been told to forgive all men, without condition. It does not matter the crime.

Matthew 6:14-15 - "For if you forgive other people their failures, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you will not forgive other people, neither will your Heavenly Father forgive you your failures."

Matthew 5:21-22 - "You have heard that it was said to the people in the old days, 'You shall not murder', and anyone who does must stand his trial. But I say to you that anyone who is angry with his brother must stand his trial; anyone who contemptuously calls his brother a fool must face the supreme court; and anyone who looks on his brother as a lost soul is himself heading straight for the fire of destruction.

He taught us that the interpretation of Gods law is not found in the language but it is in the intent, he said it in a way that we could all understand it. He was explaining the law to them! But men are wicked and they do not see their greed and their false belief in jurisdiction keeps them blind for they do not know love.

We pray for the receipt of their grace—their gift! And we must be angry with no one! For we have no authority because we have no jurisdiction!

I did not see the source of this knowledge in the teachings of many who had claimed to come in the name of Jesus. But I see that is because many of these teachers were false teachers claiming to be Christians when they do not know the meaning. Do not know the message. They do not know Christ.

Matthew 7:22-23 - "In 'that day' many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we preach in your name, didn't we cast out devils in your name, and do many great things in your name?' Then I shall tell them plainly, 'I have never known you. Go away from me, you have worked on the side of evil!'"

It truly is the belief in unconditional love, and it is the moral baseline for all of the teaching of Christ.

The misconception that I personally attribute not coming to this conclusion is having heard a man say "you must go through Christ to get to God" but I knew this in my heart not to be and that is what I was challenging. I believe this is the meaning of what Jesus said was "through God you will come to Christ"

The distinction is significant because the meaning is that God is actively pursuing a relationship with man through the figure of Jesus Christ but if we don't recognize him as Him, then we are blind. And only the spirit can reveal that.

God has shown me and I have learned. Is that not how we know anything? We see and then we learn? Be careful of that which man hath shown you, because you may learn something that is not love. It is in our nature as man. Trust only in God and you will recognize that which is not love. This is the law.

The is affirmed most succinctly by Jesus in Luke 10:25-28. As Hillel wrote, all the rest is just commentary.

Luke 10:25 - Then one of the experts in the Law stood up to test him and said, "Master, what must I do to be sure of eternal life?"
Luke 10:26 - "What does the Law say and what has your reading taught you?" said Jesus.
Luke 10:27 - "The Law says, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind', and 'your neighbour as yourself'," he replied.
Luke 10:28 - "Quite right," said Jesus. "Do that and you will live."

I would like to add that the commentary is of importance because we know so little of the meaning of love. We must view the world from Gods point of view. Supporting words from Jesus:

Mark 10:5-9 - "Moses gave you that commandment," returned Jesus, "because you know so little of the meaning of love…..”

Mark 8:31-33 – “…. "Out of my way, Satan!" he said. "Peter, you are not looking at things from God's point of view, but from man's!"

I want to add is that this is not about religion or dogma. If it is not love then is breaking Gods commandment as Jesus warns about the dangers of tradition! The warning against dogma was clearly expressed, and it is analogous to those who take an oath and then blindly follow it and commit acts of violence in the name of their oath. Furthermore, he also warned against oaths. I present the following two verses as evidence.

Matthew 5:33-37 - "Again, you have heard that the people in the old days were told - 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord', but I say to you, don't use an oath at all. Don't swear by Heaven for it is God's throne, nor by the earth for it is his footstool, nor by Jerusalem for it is the city of the great king. No, and don't swear by your own head, for you cannot make a single hair - white or black! Whatever you have to say let your 'yes' be a plain 'yes' and your 'no' a plain 'no' - anything more than this has a taint of evil.

Matthew 15:3-9 - "Tell me," replied Jesus, "why do you break God's commandment through your tradition? For God said, 'Honour your father and your mother', and 'He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death' . But you say that if a man tells his parents, 'Whatever use I might have been to you is now given to God', then he owes no further duty to his parents. And so your tradition empties the commandment of God of all its meaning. You hypocrites! Isaiah describes you beautifully when he said: 'These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honour me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. And in vain they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men'."

Further, I would like to leave with the following message about false religious teachers. The fruit in reference is to their students. Do their students love unconditionally? Do they claim to speak of their love unconditional yet cast accusations or pass judgment about the deeds of others? They have been taught falsely of their jurisdiction.

Matthew 7:15-20 - "Be on your guard against false religious teachers, who come to you dressed up as sheep but are really greedy wolves. You can tell them by their fruit. Do you pick a bunch of grapes from a thorn-bush or figs from a clump of thistles? Every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree is incapable of producing bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. The tree that fails to produce good fruit is cut down and burnt. So you may know men by their fruit."

My brothers and sisters, believe this, you need not worry! for those who claim jurisdiction over the earth are in contempt of its court, and if they do not recognize their contempt a judgment will surely be placed against them.

Happy Day 2 with Christ, cwk!

It's going to be a loooong haul of ups & downs :-) I find that I have to be "converted" almost EVERY single DAY to keep myself on the path.

Prayer and reading and

Prayer and reading and thinking on the Bible every day is important to me.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

That makes you the life of the (heavenly) party!

Welcome home! My fellow brothers and sisters mean well when they try to correct theology of new believers. I ask them to be patient, when I came to Christ i did not have it all, still don't. As you grow, you will love His Word, (both Testaments!) more and more. The Word itself has a way of correcting our errors and bringing us in line. Fellowship with others is important, too. If at all possible, find a fellowship where your gifts and talents are valued.

Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

You are a babe in Christ

Have you heard "the contemplation of being with God is sweet as honey but the experiences are bitter"? It is a wonderful feeling to be drawn to the Lord but there is much to learn from this point.

We grow the most in our Christian life by simply living it and praying in private. Why? Because it is only important that God knows who you are. Some examples are; If someone grabs you by the arm and says to come with him because he is going to misuse you, you should go freely and once you are there ask if there is more you can do. If someone slaps your face let him slap your face again. It doesn't matter if it is one person or a group of Muslims treating you like an infidel. Pray for them but (like Jesus)never raise your hand to do them harm for what they are doing.

To grow in Christ so that you may be able to eat and digest the meat of your life in Christ (Hebrews 5: 9-)later in your maturity is what is needed. Saying it is good but living it is where the growth is found.
God bless you.

you are a babe

It is very easy to forgive everyone for everything when coming to Christ, but it is the forgiveness as you walk in Him while actually having the experiences is where it counts. It isn't easy to praise God for being worthy to suffer in His name but it is necessary else we can't grow.

In all that you do, be wary of the words, "keep it simple". This is good for coming to Him but it will hurt your relationship later if you keep it.

I believe to Grow will be to

I believe to Grow will be to strengthen my faith in God. I will study the word and come together with others to do it! That is where I go from here!

Okay!

You are very popular.

My brother, please know that

My brother, please know that being popular means nothing to me, I merely am trying to increase my 'belief' in God, I may not have 'written' it correctly. But all I was feeling was "Rejoice!"--not in me, but in the Lord Jesus Christ! For I finally believe!

I merely wanted to share my recognition of a few things that I still don't nor do I know that I will ever completely understand, nor is it important for me to 'know' everything. I was trying to make 'sense' of it, but the bottom line is that I realized I have been disobeying my Fathers law- which supremely is to love! I have been thinking I know what love is! I know some of what love is, but I know so little! Some of which I have called love is not love!

But now I am going to study the words of my teacher Jesus Christ, for I believe he was the begotten Son of God, and he came to explain his Father's law to me, and for that I praise His name! He died for me! The Son of God was crucified so that my crimes against my Fathers law could be forgiven? I am so unworthy, what a merciful God!

I will grow my faith in my Father now, I have always had some of it, but oh so very little, and now I have just a tiny bit more! I need to continue to cast out all of this doubt and put my FAITH in GOD. I have always believed, but to what degree?

What was the question the serpent first asked of Eve? "Did God really say...?" -- "Do you really believe he said..?" --- and she was convinced, because she had doubted God! Shame on me for doubting him! How could I ever! I am now only trying to love my Father will all my myself and to thank him! to Praise his Son, and love each and everyone of my brothers. I knew this commandment in my heart to be true, but I have been faltering, for I know so little of Love. but I want to learn more! Because it is what my Father has commanded me to do!

I do not expect that this will be easy, nor humanly possible, but through God anything is possible.

I am a sheep and NOW Jesus is my shepherd. Yes, I will follow him!

What if words didnt exist....

...then how would you explain God?

Without words, no symbols, no icons, no martyrs, how would you explain it?

Would you really describe God with all of these old texts from old scrolls they found in a cave when people self-quarantined themselves into Johnny Depp level isolation to "communicate with the Holy Father?"

Christianity descends from Ancient Egyptian belief in Essene and Amen.

How did they explain the giver of Life (Essene)? Using pictures of people, earth and animals being united and interchangeable. And Amen (the SUN) is ESSENtial to "everlasting" life

I'm happy for you if you're happy, bud! :) There are many was to attribute the God that we all share.

Um, pardon me but I don't buy it

You stated "I would very much like to share the wonderful news of God revealing himself to me as Jesus Christ! "

There isn't enough space here to write about the weight of scripture which call Jesus Christ the son of God, versus God the son.

Jesus is not , was never God, and never will be God. He declared God and His message, and was His agent of salvation, the mediator between God and man, our attorney.

For some reason the world wants Christianity to become a laughing stock. Trinitarian illogical definitions don't help matters.

I QUOTE A GREAT FOUNDER IF YOU PLEASE WILL READ?

No one sees with greater pleasure than myself the progress of reason in its advances towards rational Christianity. When we shall have done away the incomprehensible jargon of the Trinitarian arithmetic, that three are one, and one is three; when we shall have knocked down the artificial scaffolding, reared to mask from view the simple structure of Jesus; when, in short, we shall have unlearned everything which has been taught since His day, and got back to the pure and simple doctrines He inculcated, we shall then be truly and worthily His disciples; and my opinion is that if nothing had ever been added to what flowed purely from His lips, the whole world would at this day have been Christian. I know that the case you cite, of Dr. Drake, has been a common one. The religion-builders have so distorted and deformed the doctrines of Jesus, so muffled them in mysticisms, fancies and falsehoods, have caricatured them into forms so monstrous and inconceivable, as to shock reasonable thinkers, to revolt them against the whole, and drive them rashly to pronounce its Founder an impostor. Had there never been a commentator, there never would have been an infidel.... I have little doubt that the whole of our country will soon be rallied to the unity of the Creator, and, I hope, to the pure doctrines of Jesus also. BY THOMAS JEFFERSON 1821

If God is not a triune God explain this verse to me:

Genesis 1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Them be plural pronouns. Why does God say, 'us' and 'our' if it is just God? Mind you the angels had nothing to do with creating only God is the Creator.

To say that God is not a triune God is to undermine the entire scripture and take away the glory of God. Though you have a quote the from the great T.J. that does not mean he was correct. He speaks of pure and simple doctrines which...are just not in the Bible. Some of our founders, Ben Franklin included, were deists and did not believe in the entirety of the Bible.

Where does it say that Jesus is NOT God? What about this verse stated by Jesus?

John 10:30
I and my Father are one.

I could quote so many more...

You need to be very careful not to take the word of God out of context there is a warning at the end of Revelation.

Revelation 22:19
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Isaiah 2:4
And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

It is because

It is because the earth is a giant "Ant Farm" for some far-out teenagers from another part of the universe and they planted all the bible stuff and these two teenagers (BTW, they are hundreds of millions of years old but time passes differently for them) used the plural because they both participated in earning the money so they could afford their own ""Inhabited Planet." They saw the ad in the back of the comic book and they decided to pool their money and do odd jobs so they too could become "GODS."

Dose that answer your question?

It took you a while

to come up with that. Go back to watching and believing in star trek. You're the kind of person who would believe in aliens and reject that Christ was even a real person historically. Go back and look at those links I sent you before you make anymore comments. You have already invalidated everything you've said by your previous comments. You've lost the argument and are now trying to make up stories and be annoying. It makes me believe that you have no love of liberty or the people at daily paul at all and are instead some government plant.

Also, you better come up with a better story than this when you are standing in front of God at the Great Judgment.

Isaiah 2:4
And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Um, you may be right

The apostle Paul warned that legalism and apostasy would infect the Christian church. Let's remember, decades passed before the Gospels were written down, and many more years passed before church leaders decided what would be included in the Bible. It is the Spirit of the Gospel that is most important, not the letter. And why should Christians automatically assume this person, whom none of us have met, is telling the truth about his/her conversion? In the comments below, I've pointed out some troubling aspects of this person's testimony.

Cecil,

I'm SO happy for you! God bless.

Whether I believe in religion or not has no place on this post.

It's shameful that people get beligerant over another person's belief.

Anyway, I hope this heals and transforms the deepest parts of you. We could all use a little of that! :)

Praise God and add to your faith...

...as it is written. Your walk has only begun.

II Peter 1:2 May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 3His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue, 4by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. 5For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, 6and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. 10Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. 11For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As for those rulers who deny him..Psalm 2: 1Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? 2The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His anointed, saying, 3"Let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us." 4He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. ... v10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Server the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way. When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

Remember, Peter didn't realize his "lack of faith" until too late. Christ looked at him right in the eye after Peter had denied him three times. Peter teaches us well to look deeper into our hearts and to add to our faith that serviceable attitude. WE read how Christ worked on Peter's heart many times, "feed my sheep" three times and the casting of the nets from the fishing boat. Then of course the denying Him three times after saying, Mark 14:29-31. "If I have to die with You, I will not deny You!".

Jesus tested him on the fishing boat. Peter told Jesus, v5, we've tried all day Jesus, we're the fishermen and I say we caught nothing, but ok your the minister, we'll let the nets' down. See what happens in Luke 5:8? Peter repented after hearing a sermon by Christ to a thousand people and he didn't believe. He saw the fish and THEN believed. How much greater is your faith now than Peter's was then.

How can Peter or anyone who had betrayed a friend make right what happens in Luke 22:61? Peter again, in v62 suffers the grief of a heart which betrayed a friend, his Lord. What a tremendous moment of grief to have to endure and I'm sure for his whole life. That moment, I believe, is what what made Peter a great teacher. He had passed through the deepest of many of the "acid baths" in his life, the brokenness of spirit. He understood how to counsel the rest of the church.

May God richly bless you in your life's sanctification process.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand.
And those who have not heard shall understand.

loving it!- literally! I am

loving it!- literally! I am so happy to recognize him as Him! and to see that God is only love! However! We know so little of what love is! And they killed Him! Publicly! And they felt good about it! For me to realize that it was a persecution of love itself is to truly see it all for its obscenity!

Love is the fullfiling of His law.

This is great! Yes, God's true love was being rejected, denied and persecuted. God is truth, which is why Christ came (John 18:37), to establish truth and it too was persecuted by man. But, to no avail, love lives on and truth is here in knowing the one and only God and our Lord. As for what love is, it is the carrying out God's law, to treat our neighbor according to the commandments (both required and forbidden). As one draws nearer to God, knowing Him is knowing His law, which is the perfect love of God also demonstrated by His faithfulness throughout history and by His Son Christ.

Blessings.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand.
And those who have not heard shall understand.

'Cause there's a monster on the loose

False teachers

may be carrying such a flag, but true Christianity does not lead to fascism. Someone who is sincere about their relationship with Jesus is all about love-not controlling others...think you are confusing Christianity with the history of the catholic church...

"To study and not think is a waste. To think and not study is dangerous." -- Confucius

This was really inspiring!

I grew up Christian but very few ever lived by those words. I never really learned anything specifically about Jesus or his teachings but I sure do remember the tails of the punishing god and the instillment of fear and not Love.

I decided early on to follow my own path. I understood that I wanted to make the lives of those around me pleasant. I didn't always succeed but I learned.

I began to learn about meditation and just being still, quieting the mind and resonating in a state of Love. In Oneness. Actually practicing feeling more love. Any positive state is an act of a degree of love. Even what we may call negative is only a lesser degree of Love. Like hot and cold. There is only heat and its absence. There is no source of cold as there is no source of evil only the lesser degree of Love. So everything then is an expression of Love. Of God, in this case, as you so beautifully described.

I took an unconventional, un Christian path to understand the words of Christ. I often imagine he understood physics quite well. There is really One Truth and that is LOVE expressed through a World full of beautiful metaphors and teachers throughout time.

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience"—Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Exactly- it God is LOVE, but

Exactly- it God is LOVE, but we belief so little in it and we know so little of what it means!

That's the thing

You don't have to Believe it at all. You just need to FEEL it. Love is an emotion that we can physically feel. It's right under our noses. But look at the world around us. We are taught nothing but hate, fear and violence. Many men don't dare to speak of "Love" because that's ghey or something. We have conditioned it out of our daily lives. There is a whole system that the evil people on this round rock have pushed down our throats so that we don't realize how SIMPLE it is to find Love (or God if that's your POV).

So how do we get to Love? Start small. Use the power of your own mind to think of things that make you happy or feel a sense of love. Think about a beautiful sunset, puppies, a loved one, anything to bring up the EMOTION of LOVE and resonate in that moment. Get to know what that feeling FEELS like and practice it. Some days will be rough but eventually you will really be used to feeling MORE Love than Not. A tipping point. From there things get really amazing and life really does change.

All of that I found without Christ. I found it in meditation and a basic knowledge of physics. It's only now that I can read what Christ said and understand the deep YET SIMPLE meaning of his words. I still don't follow a Christian path but that's my choice. We have many different metaphors like Christianity, Buddhism, etc., to get to ONE TRUTH that all the world's religions share. Once you realize that, that's when you truly find god because anything less is a belief in the falsehood created by man.

You found the Truth in His words and that is beautiful!

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience"—Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Is it wise for Christians to assume this is a true story?

If it is true, I thank God for another brother/sister in Christ. But even if it's true, I think Christians should carefully read what is written. The person seems to be confusing grace and unconditional love with anarchy, i.e, he/she says Christians cannot judge or punish any man, even a murderer, because we have no jurisdiction over any man. You can find the exact quote I'm referring to in the first link below. The other links expand on the same subject.

My thoughts

you may be right, but what I think is that the person posting this, if a new Christian, is still a baby Christian and has much more to learn, read and understand from the Word, especially on the view points you have mentioned.

Isaiah 2:4
And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

The bottomline for me is yes

The bottomline for me is yes I am a baby "Christian" but the recognition here is that God is Love, and recognizing him, Jesus Christ, as Him. He was teaching us about what is LOVE. Which we have so little knowledge of, and belief in, but to not believe in love is most certainly to lack a belief in God.

This paragraph...

"We are the judge of no men! It does not matter the crime."

This above quote of cwk's should change as the Word is read and better understood. God appoints civil magistrates over us to carry out justice. Christ came to judge the world. WE are to judge, but with righteous judgement. Moses was made a judge, to hear the cases brought to him. He appointed many other judges to hear the smaller cases. He would decide the tougher ones. God does have punishments for different laws broken, the more heinous the greater the punishment, i.e., murder demands then capital punishment.

God forgives our sins but what comes first is our repentance. IF we can not repent and can not ask God for forgiveness then we have no love for Him and God does not declare our sins forgiven.

Have a blessed day.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand.
And those who have not heard shall understand.
