Aluminium and steel?

Really? Aluminium is the 3rd most abundant element in earth's crust, and iron is 4th. They are pretty worthless and only aluminium has been viewed as somewhat precious before a cheap way to refine it came along. If it's never been money, there's little point "investing" in it. Copper, silver, gold, and maybe platinum. I think investing in metals like stocks is completely moronic. To most people it is their savings. Their actual money.
