Conceal & Carry Training

Please sound of the DP'ers specially those from IL...What is the pros and cons of taking a CONCEAL & CARRY class. I Am thinking about it seriously...I know some of you think that the 2ns A is all we need for a permit but were still working on that... my question is Am I setting myself up for a registration that may lead to confiscation...?

If you live in IL

getting a CC permit would not led to the possibility of confiscation, simply purchasing a firearm will. Upon purchase they are registered with the state, and most counties require you to register with them too.

Sure in a place like Tx or other gun friendly states, it is a bit overboard to require fingerprints and the like, but I don't see how it would lead to confiscation there. CCP do not specify how many or what type of firearms you have or that you even own one, it just permits you to carry one.

If gun grabbers came door to door to take Texan's guns (for example) and they went solely on CCP, they would have no clue as to how many the CCP holders owned, if any at all.

Thanks. Your right, We have this thing called FOID card which is a type of registration. I dont know call me over reacting but just the word permit gives me shivers. Then as soon as I pass the thought of taking the class and pick a certified organization, I can't find one who is affiliated with GAO ( gun owners of America ). Their all affiliated with the other organization. ...That is why I wrote the GAO webdite to point me in the right direction...
