The Ron Paul Blimp and family of Ron Paul will be hosting an "Open Blimp" event Saturday, January 19th at 11am at Sumter Municipal Airport. This unique event will give people an opportunity to see the blimp up close and meet the members of Ron Paul's family. Depending on his schedule Ron Paul may also be making an appearance.
Hundreds of area leaders, supporters and curious spectators are expected to attend as this will be a rare opportunity to view the blimp. Members of Ron Paul's family including his son Rand Paul and two of his grandsons, Duncan and Robert Paul will be hosting the event.
The blimp's crew and pilots will be available to answer questions about the blimp and will be providing tours of the cabin. Guests will be offered the opportunity to undergo official "Blimponaut Ground Training" and after their certification can have their photograph taken in the pilot's seat on the blimp. There will also be an information kiosk where you can purchase blimp memorabilia and get information on Ron Paul.
The blimp will be making several media and passenger flights starting at 8:30 a.m.Saturday. The event is expected to go until 1 pm.
Since it's initial launch on December 17, 2007, the blimp has traveled over 3,300 miles covering Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina, North Carolina, Savannah, Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa. The blimp is failing for 3 reasons.
1: Many of us that supported the blimp in the beginning were against the WHO IS RON PAUL MSG.
This is not how you advertise by any means and why do i know this? I own a international marketing company. I offered on threads here and in several emails to the blimp people my entires staff FOR FREE to market Ron Paul on the blimp and to date i have never received a phone call or a returned email other than a mass email blast asking for more money.
I do not know about any of you but when you have experts offering thier advice and services for FREE you at least listen to what they have to say instead of ignoring them.
Ask people that are 50 years and older what GOOGLE is and 85% of them will say i don't know what is google.
Whois Ron Paul is asking a question to which you are assuming that people will actually look Ron Paul up, we all know how lazy most of america is which is why we are in so much trouble now and why our leaders were able to slowly destroy our liberties and freedoms under our noses. When you want to sell something you do not make people have to research it. You tell them what it is you are trying to sell and hope they are interested in buying it PERIOD.
2: They needed to set up a phone number for direct credit card payments which many people begged for and were ignored THESE WERE PEOPLE WANTING TO SEND THE BLIMP MONEY.
3: Many of us never received a response from the blimp team on our concerns and questions. Do you really think people will keep- giving you money if you fail to comunicate with the very people you are asking donations of thier hard earned money? I think not. If i ran my business that way i would be out of business PERIOD.

It has done great and I have given it money several times but now the elections are in too many states, and, since the 2nd place Nevada WIN, most have heard his name by now. I can't overstate how much news the blimp at the super bowl would generate. I don't understand why people can't see that. We're talking about a measly $15K here. I put in $1K myself if there were only 15 people to match we would meet the mark. Just think about being at a superbowl party and getting to say to your buddy, hey where is Romney's blimp?

Cable TV is NOT necessarily a good place to reach people, and not necessarily the best for vote-getting. I used to work as a media planner -- I recall that Cable TV didn't have that great a reach -- it all depends on what slots you can buy. Although it IS useful too, it should be funded IN CONJUNCTION with efforts like the blimp, not be a competitor.
The blimp is just a different tool. And it has proven its worth in drawing media attention. That is what is needed.
The blimp should spend its time in FLORIDA. It is needed there.
Well then,
Why isn't the campaign kicking in any funds for the blimp? At the beginning as well as now, the blimp almost didn't fly. The campaign has offered NO money to support this "Marketing Marvel", and yet since this project is not a PAC, the campaign is totally free to buy as much blimp advertising time as they want.

I am speaking for myself. Others have a right to their own viewpoint (s). The blimp has spent a LOT of time in SC and look at the primary votes for RP. I would have expected much better results if, in fact, it has been so successful and effective.

Consider yourself as knowing nothing about Presidential candidate Ron Paul, you don't even know who he is. Did this article tell you ANYTHING about him? The answer is a VERY clear NO. It doesn't tell you anything about where he stands on the issues, not that he's a doctor or that he's a congressman. IT DOESN'T EVEN TELL YOU HE'S A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE. The only thing that someone whom has NO knowledge of Ron Paul will learn from this article is that some guy and his family are going on a blimp ride and the media is gonna be there and the date time and location.

If you do not support the Blimp, do not donate. It's that simple. Let the market work.You do not have to post negative comments all over DailyPaul saying so. What you are not doing is thinking about the risks with the rewards, the positives and the negatives as a whole. Anyone can find the negatives in just about anything, but that does not mean that it is a negative. I believe the Blimp is worth the investments,as do many RP supporters.
