Taxes: Helpful Hints

All are welcome to give advise and helpful ways of doing taxes. My goal this year is to understand taxes a little more in dept even though i know they are confusing. Thank you for any input and time you give for this topic.

I hope to read about: online taxes, hiring a tax professional, diy taxes, write offs with debt, school, second mortgages, audit experiences

I have used H&R Block or Turbo Tax

computer programs for more than 15 years. We have to file the 1040 long form with wage income, interest income, tuition deductions, charitable deductions, business income and expenses, stock sales, and IRAs to report, among other things. When life was simple and we just had wages and charitable deductions, I filed it all myself without a computer program, but I wouldn't dare do that now.
