Brainwashing Kids 4 Christ! Just $39 + S/H

Check out this commercial for a creepy new teddy bear, created by "christian" Pastor John Hagee, that indoctrinates fundamentalist christianity into your unsuspecting child...

My question is, If christ/god of the bible was really real, then why the constant need to trick and scare people into believing?

How to Handle POLICE STATE Encounters

The recording from the bear: "Love is patient,

love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." 1Cor 13:14-7

Everyone says that the Ron Paul Revolution is about love, but anything about love is evil brainwashing if it's from the Holy Bible, don't you know.

I had to memorize that whole chapter when I was a young child, and I made my kids memorize it.

Why Do Toys Have To Preach?

Why do your kids have to learn about love and right and wrong from toys? I learned it from parents and a loving family. I never had toys preach to me. I enjoyed toys AS TOYS. To PLAY with for FUN! No freaking subliminal message. If there was one I didn't know or care. Toys are supposed to let kids use their imagination to think things out for themselves, indulge in fantasy, make up their own make believe worlds and play games. Expand their ideas and thoughts. NOT be indoctrinated! You can SHOW your kids stuff by LIVING it but don't use toys as an indoctrination tool. They will face plenty of that in school!

The bear is not the sort of toy that I would buy,

but I can't fault what's on the player.

I have to agree with that statement.

What Bugs The Hell Out Of Me

Is how many people on DP are still stuck in so many government and religiously made up brainwashing paradigms and they can't seem to break out of them. They still think that elections are the answer, Jesus is the answer, reforming government is the answer etc. Same old tired beliefs that they have had pounded into their heads by public schools, preachers and the media. They think they are awake and enlightened yet they keep spouting the same old same old. Why won't people here try to THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX? Answer, Because they are brainwashed sheep that can't for fear of going to Hell!

The stupid bears are a brainwashing tool whether you admit it or not. If you REALLY want your kids to be free then expose them to different ideas and let them MAKE UP THEIR OWN MINDS. Don't try to ENDOCTRINATE them with YOUR beliefs. DUHHHHH! And you call yourselves freedom lovers! WHAT A CROCK and what hypocrites you are! I saw a "teddy bear" that a neighbor of mine gave her kids that spoke. It raved about how Teddy Roosevelt became the father of "teddy bears" It told how Ted R's minions tied a baby bear to a tree for good old Teddy to "hunt" and shoot and how good old Teddy decided to let the baby bear go. (After the minions had killed its mom) and so they named bears "teddy bears" in honor of TR. What a great guy. NOT! It made me SICK to listen to. THIS WAS A TALKING BEAR! Nice toy to give little kids. Nothing like using toys for an agenda!

I don't claim to know all the answers but I can tell you from experience that "Christians" are full of it. I have been around the block with "Christians" and I can tell you that I have only met ONE and I mean ONE TRUE believer that lived what she preached. The rest have been mindless sheep following the indoctrination of tptb. BTW, I am not atheist or anarchist so don't go there!

My kids were free to play over every square inch inside

the fence around our yard. The fence is what gave them freedom to play creatively in safety from outside threats that I knew about and they didn't. The fence was their freedom from the bondage of broken bones, kidnapping, and death. I decided that I was not going to let them make up their own minds about whether they would play in the street, or not.

The world was made to work a certain way, so I taught my children what that was in all of its ramifications which, of course, included instruction in truth and wisdom, aka the fence line of life. Foolishness is what is outside wisdom's fence line. It was my job to teach my children how to freely live their lives fully, happily, and joyfully in the safety of wisdom, and what would happen to them if they foolishly "jumped off a bridge," or "ate broken glass" which is all there is to do outside the fence line.

I didn't want my children to mess up their lives and their descendants lives by having to learn everything the hard way so I deliberately "indoctrinated" them with "my beliefs".

Brainwashing??? Hold on there...

Let us approach this from a liberty perspective. First, these bears are being sold on a Christian ministry website. Does he have the liberty to sell the bears? Does he have the First amendment right to have Bible verses recorded on the soundtrack that the bears play? Do I have the freedom, as a Christian to go to a Christian website to purchase whatever I want, including the bears? Do I have the freedom to teach my own children whatever I see fit, including Bible verses? If I am raising my children in the nurture and the admonition of the Lord, day in and day out, they are not "unsuspecting" as you put it. This teddy bear would be saying nothing different than what they would hear every day.

Please be careful about using the term "brainwashing." You may not agree with my beliefs. You may not agree with how I raise my children. But to put it bluntly, that's none of your business. If you decide to raise your children on Christopher Hitchens and Penn Jillette, that is entirely up to you. How would you feel if I said that it was "brainwashing...your unsuspecting child" to do that? From a liberty perspective, you don't sound very tolerant of parents having the liberty to teach their own children.

What bothers me about the

What bothers me about the Bible is how many times it has been revised and parts cut out like the Gospel of Thomas. I heard that Jesus preached self enlightenment and spiritual empowerment during his life but the authorities couldn’t have that so they cut it out of the scripture so people would have to go through the control grid of the Church to get with God. Why is there little or no account of Jesus life besides the last couple of years before he was killed?

The crucifixion and resurrection are actually much older stories originating from Egyptian mythology that have been applied to the Jesus figure. I personally believe he was a enlightened spiritual master that travelled East during his younger years to learn Buddhist philosophy and came back with his interpretation melded with Mediterranean spiritual traditions such as the drinking of the blood sacrament and his followers became the first Gnostic Christians. The Roman Empire then twisted his religion and melded it with other beliefs to create a fraudulent Church doctrine of guilt and submission to authority.

If Jesus were to ever return I am sure he would be absolutely horrified at the all the evil that has been done in his name such as the Inquisition in which people were horrifically tortured and burned alive, Crusades in the Middle East and worldwide cultural genocide by stamping out of local beliefs and customs like what happened in Central America.

We all share this eternally evolving present moment- The past and future only exist as inconsequential mental fabrications.

that is dark sided

39 bucks to mentally abuse a child!? You could do that for free, its worked fine over the years, just look at the responses on this thread.

If they are brainwashing kids

it is not for Christ, but for human power.

Obedience to God is resistance to tyrants.

John Hagee

is not a Christian.

Isaiah 43:3-5

I agree, he's more like a

I agree, he's more like a Glenn Beck figure.

John Hagee is a rabid Zionist

John Hagee is a rabid Zionist who got a free Lear jet from the Israeli government for being such a shill for Israel. He wants to bomb Iran, very badly, because Jesus said, "Blessed are the warmongers", or something like that.

Rabid Zionist?

"Jesus said, "Blessed are the warmongers", or something like that."

You really shouldn't make things up.

John Hagee is a Talmudic Jew. john8-44

Of course I made up my Jesus

Of course I made up my Jesus quote to be sarcastic. We all know that Jesus favors peace. John Hagee would best be described as a Christian apostate. When he visits Israel he refuses to meet with Christian Palestinians, who are treated by the Israelis as badly as the Muslim Palestinians.

No trickery

One single simple rule:

Treat others as you would wish to be treated.

That's Rule #1 in my house
Rule #2 states pretty much every rule should be bent so long as nobody is injured
Rule #3 Question everything

Nothing religious about respecting someone or hearing them our or treating them well.

That's what is taught under my roof, and so far I think my son is a step ahead of me from when I was his age. Which I am quite proud of.

Don't need a christ like teddy ruxpin to figure that out.

We need more people like you in this country! Your kid is lucky

In my work experiences having managed exclusively christian groups as well as exclusively secular groups and the former were much easier to manage(control)even though they were sometimes more deceptive and the latter was more comfortable with itself and honest.

The differences are pretty interesting. I'm not surprised your child is a step ahead of you when you were that age!

Chuck Baldwin's my preacher...

Now here's a man that can teach you about FREEDOM. He's not afraid to preach against tyranny, and will end up answering many of your questions, if you'll give him the chance.

Here's a great new years message for all the pastors of America -

Restore the Foundations - "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?"

We Now Know There's Nothing Supernatural About Christianity

Not only has a Christian Bible scholar reluctantly stated that Jesus did not die on a cross:

but we also now know Christianity was apparently INVENTED by the Romans as a political tool to control the masses of the day, and it is still being used this way today.

Well then

He's not a Christian scholar is he.

Can you say Talmudic lies?

Luke 3:38
Isaiah 43:3-5

...he sounds like a Christian scholar...you just have to read to the end of the article to hear his quote where he explains that he's not saying people should doubt the Scripture, just that we shouldn't just insert details from tradition that aren't actually stated there in the text and treat that as gospel.

If the Romans invented

Christianity to control the people, it didn't work out so well for the Romans.

how so?

how so?

My problems with christian views...

Self-Sacrifice as a "good thing":
Jesus Suffered...and you can too!

God will right all wrongs:
Don't worry about the bad rich people, "they'll get theirs in the end"

Trust your authorities figures! Don't question, cause we know best! (and you'll be punished if you do)

Seems to me that all this benefits the GOVERNMENT more than the individual, right?
I just don't understand "religious libertarians" because religion has been/is to an extent, and extension of government.

First off --

-- the whole twisting of Romans 13 to excuse tyranny is certainly a meme that gets passed around, but plenty of Christians throughout history would have decried that as a gross distortion. The context of the passage frames proper government as that which rewards good and punishes evil. Tyrannical governments have stepped out from their God-given role in society and there are examples all through the Bible of folks standing up against tyrants and kings. I really urge you to read Chuck Baldwin's son's book 'Romans 13: The True Meaning of Submission' if you're truly interested in understanding this issue rather than trying to use a broad brush.

Second, I don't know any Christians who believe that Christ's death was a 'good thing' in the sense of it being preferred over the ideal situation of it not having been necessary in the first place. It was an evil from which ultimate good could triumph, because the death was only a door to life, for Him and for all who would follow.

It's not that we like suffering; it's that we view it as only a temporary condition on the overall journey.

You know what depresses me? It's the view of 'no God' which starts off with only a cold, dead physical/quantum mechanical system, which means that everything such as person, love, right vs wrong, intelligence, etc. are all illusions, just temporary rearrangements of atoms and energy, just passing vapors like clouds that would appear to be sailing ships but really aren't. Put Shakespeare's brain next to Hitler's brain next to Jefferson's brain next to Mao's brain -- they're all just rearrangements of grey matter, etc. -- where is the true sense of right and wrong in that picture? It's all just dead, nihilistic, purposeless, meaningless stuff -- the Mona Lisa is no better or worse than the Holocaust in that view. Just different arrangements.

But start with Person, Love, Intelligence, etc. as the fundamental reality, and meaning and purpose and hope beyond suffering unfold. The Mona Lisa IS actually better than the Holocaust; the Declaration of unalienable rights of Life and Liberty IS better than the killing fields of Cambodia -- not just in the puny sense of a fleeting illusion within dead stuff, but in actuality! :)

Every fiber of my being rejects the dead, nihilistic view which saps the very life and goodness out of everything. Every fiber of my being embraces Life, Love, Person, Reason as eternal--with death and suffering as the temporary vapors, the clouds that will pass away.

Yes, like G.K. Chesterton said,

"...if the cosmos of the materialist is the real cosmos, it isn't much of a cosmos."
