A bill introduced in the New York State Assembly by Assemblyman Felix Ortiz, a Democrat, would require the state’s residents to acquire liability insurance as a condition for gun ownership.

“Any person in this state who shall own a firearm shall, prior to such ownership, obtain and continuously maintain a policy of liability insurance in an amount not less than one million dollars specifically covering any damages resulting from any negligent or willful acts involving the use of such firearm while it is owned by such person,” the measure, dubbed S2353, reads.

Any person who has not purchased insurance in compliance with the law within 30 days of its passing would be in violation of the law.

New Yorker's

better wake up. YOU are under attack on every front. You better get organized and flex your rights or you will have no rights to speak of. You are way behind in this deal...better get on it.

I think it's too late for New York

Trust me, I grew up here, I know. I live in world war Z central. The people around me are so asleep, it's astounding.... They swarm like angry locusts if you even attempt to wake one of them up. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only human being left in the morning after the night of the body snatchers.

It's pointless to even try to help these poor souls. My only focus right now is to stack my silver and plan to GTFO.

so they just want guns for the rich

...and I still dont see how this would stop a person who decides to go on a shooting spree. These people need to be rounded up and jailed.

I'd rather have a bottle in front o' me than a frontal lobotomy

Suck my dick

I'm not buying shit!!

A fine example

of forcing poor and middle class people out of the market.

No Insurance Company

Is going to offer this coverage. It just keeps getting more and more bizarre. For one thing, negligent acts are already covered under the personal liability on the homeowners insurance, so no problem there, but willful acts? Criminal acts are excluded from all insurance coverage. They also want the owner of the firearm to be responsible for criminal acts of others if the gun is stolen? That is unprecedented in tort law, I doubt any insurance company will offer any coverage for willful or criminal acts regardless of the premium.

If they Can't Make Guns Illegal, They'll Just Force You To Buy

insurance you can't afford...
