What Is Money? Metal or Mental?Submitted by zooamerica on Thu, 02/21/2013 - 23:39
Is money mental, or is it a heavy metal?
Ben Bernanke, eat your heart out.
I think money is what people think something is worth...it's mental, sometimes on the borderline of retarded, but it's definitely mental.
A lap dance is worth $100 is you think it is...
Money is more than just power. Money is what's worth the price of something when the power goes out.
Money is more psychological than it is physical.
Real gold is not worth paper money according to many people....
Mark Dice did a fantastic job of examining the psychological economics behind what money really is according to the uninformed who have as much to say about the question as anyone else does...we who study economics are the minority if anything.
I have to ask this, after watching the video...
If the US economy fell off a cliff, crime exploded across the nation, and the government imposed martial law -
What would you rather have in your possession?
1.) 10,000 pounds of gold
2.) $10,000 in cash, ten shotguns, ten thousand gallons of fresh water, ten thousand rounds of ammo, ten thousand pounds of food, 10 kegs of beer, 10 cartons of Marlboro's, and ten cords of wood.
I'd take #2.
In the economic landscape of the 21st Century filled with digital 0's and 1's, printing presses, and fiat currencies...they are all inventions out of necessity.
Physical gold is finite. Silver is finite. They are limited.
What people can think of is...infinite. "That's money."
Money is infinite. The human mind is infinite....money is not finite.
Money is what people think something's worth.
I once heard that if all of the gold in the entire world were gathered in once place, it would fill the University of Michigan's, "Big House," to the brim.
Can the world's prosperity rest upon gold, silver, and platinum alone? Is there enough heavy metal to go around the limitless capacity of the human mind?
Bang your head
