I didn't see it but it sounds like the NRA is up to what they always are....as one Daily Paul person put it, "Controlled Opposition." Think about it. Who is now for more govt sanctioned security guards? The NRA. Who pushes for concealed weapons permits and acts like this isn't a govt data base? The NRA. Who compromises left and right always? The NRA. Who defends hunters and sportsmen and those who want to defend from home invasion but skips the entire true meaning of the 2nd amendment? The NRA.

NRA goes on TV saying that the govt is justified in suppressing the Second Amendment and the First Amendment. Facing overwhelming opposition from citizens, a liberal town councilor withdraws his gun ban scheme, and the NRA only chides the plan for being an outright ban--inviting them to try again with slightly less than an outright ban?
"Controlled opposition" is exactly correct. The elitist gun grabbers control both "sides" of the "debate" and it is only grassroots opposition that stands in their way of disarming America.

The whole premise of the news piece was that a bunch of people over ran them rudely or unexpectedly and they couldn't pass the ban. So now they are at an inconvenience because they can't be a "leader" in gun safety and they now they unfortunately have to wait for congress to do it for them??? Its all propaganda if you guys can't see it then you are blinded. However it is awesome that it didn't pass.
But all of the news pieces up on daily makes it so obvious that its actually just a hit piece. I mean they had maybe 2 or 3 gun owners there who quickly said short things that didn't mean much but that they were pleased. And then they put 2 or 3 Mr. Sparty pantses to talk about how its not illegal to ban guns and how these people are just an inconvenience blah blah blah. Well.. I guess they gotta wait for congress to take their freedom awww poor babies.

The NRA is what is known as 'controlled opposition'. Their job is to convince gun owners that the NRA will [for a little money from members] them to protect their 2A rights.
Their job is also to sell out their membership while convincing the members that it is in their own best interest.
What's happening now, is that the situation has become so extreme that it's becoming obvious to more and more people.
The NRA is a complete waste. GOA seems a lot better.

Preserving the second amendment
I'm sure Elizabeth Warren was disappointed by this result in Massachusetts.
The entertainment and video game industries target children with products exhibiting the most irresponsible, immoral use of guns imaginable. So in fifth and sixth grades, use interactive video games to teach gun safety as an antedote to the barrage of gratuitous media violence.
Provide marksmenship training for high school students in conjunction with a class teaching the need to preserve second amendment rights as a bulwark against tyranny. Involve top student marksmen (seniors) in a conceal/carry program with teachers. Interactive video games can simulate any real life situation, i.e home invasions and school shootings, and teach the proper response. The NRA's proposal of police in every school only leads us further down the road to a police state.

This is a great example of the fact that governments mirror the culture of the people that make their demands and stick with them.
While the meeting hall was 'packed' it was a very small percentage of the city, but those people were resolute and weren't going to budge, hence a 5 minute meeting.
