Bill Gates Invests $50m In Genetically Modified Algae Biofuels

This isn't old news since it was announced quietly 5 years ago then swept under the carpet:

Wall Street Journal blogs: http://blogs.wsj.com/environmentalcapital/2008/09/17/bill-ga...
And for an alternate view concerning the genetically modified aspect:

With all the talk lately about America becoming energy self-sufficient again, the advancements in algae-based fuels like biodiesel and ethanol made in the last 6-7 years, and the need for something to keep the working slave class of the 21st century occupied, maybe algae will grow some legs in 2013.
