Rand Paul Warns Of Potential For Obama ‘Raining A Hellfire Missile’ On ‘Someone Eating At Cafe In Boston’

Appearing on Fox’s Happening Now this morning, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) blasted the Obama administration’s use of drone strikes against American citizens suspected of plotting against the United States, and lamented the fact that the leaked DOJ “white paper,” which essentially authorizes the president to assassinate American citizens without due process, could lead to targeted killings of American citizens on U.S. soil.

Thanks for the vid link, T1

Geeze.

I still can't believe we're even having this conversation.
Really? Why aren't more people outraged at the idea of using drone strikes on U.S. soil? We've become desensitized to the killing of innocent civilians in Middle Eastern countries, of course we could give a rats #ss if it happens here as well. We, Americans as a whole, are reaping what has been sown.

All eyes seem to be fixated

upon the military. Sorry folks, the military will not be needed, it will be an alphabet agency, new or probably DHS, that will be in charge of the drones over North America. We are well aware of the ruthlessness and total disregard of Americans Constitutional rights these agencies have. Ruby Ridge as well as Waco were just practice. The acceptance of collateral damage was demonstrated in 1996 with Flight 800 when 229 individuals, 21 from a small town not far from where I live, were deemed expendable to assassinate one high value target. Strange how many nations expressed their condolences yet one that the media espouses as our staunchest ally in the mid east was totally silent.

There are no politicians or bankers in foxholes.

He has no intention,,,

But what if another Country or “Alliance of Nations” wanted to take out someone in this country sitting in a café filled with innocent citizens ?
This is what the Obama-nation does to other Countries for the group he works for!

Mao was a rascal

but he understood about political power and its ultimate relationship to who holds the guns. So long as our armed forces are centralized under the FEDGOV, no lines on a paper, not even the Constitution, will stop ambitious persons from returning to this moment. The only sustainable answer is to decentralize the military along the lines suggested under Localism. Basically instead of no state being able to keep troops, it would be the central government that is forbidden to keep troops, they would have to borrow them from the states. But this is an integrated philosophy, and to make it work long term one must decentralize other doors to power, such as money and debt.

"No intention"

Obama says he has no intention of carrying out drone strikes in the US. He also said he had no intention of going after medical marijuana. His words mean nothing.

He said

he wouldn't sign NDAA, he said we'd be out of Iraq... he's a filthy liar.

Besides Obama being completely untrustworthy, how can we know some Future president won't use this 'power?'

Rand is so not his father.

Rand is so not his father. Never have I heard Rand show any concern for the thousands of deaths of non-American innocents from these drones. A recent study in America indicated that our drones kill 49 innocents for every one suspected terrorist.

Same goes for Palestine. Rand shows no signs of appreciating the misery of the Palestinians at the hand of their Jewish occupier and Jewish only colonizer.

Rand is milktoast.

... on foreign policy

his statement about a "little less aggressive foreign policy" is godawful.

Rand is a Senator with far more responsibilty

And Rand is doing what his father wished a Senator would have done, understanding tptb and what we're up against http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/06/12/rand-paul-proposes-bil...

Awesome interview

Rand Paul seems to be the only adult in Washington.

Take back the GOP and Restore America Now.

credit where credit is due

i have a lot of complaints and concerns regarding rand, but in this segment (& civil liberties in general) he is excellent, altho on TSA he should be stronger - abolish it!

however

let's get down to the nitty gritty shall we?

Huh...whatta ya know

Rand just dropped a truth bomb on obombya. "It's beneath the office of the President"

I was actually just about to post how surreal the comments are.

Just imagine the comments if GW Bush was doing the same. They are in total denial about as much torture if not more going on under obama too.

They all love the patriot act now but when bush did it it was terrible. They are so ignorant, they see obama signing the ndaa and are ok with it but can't seem to recognise that the next guy gets in will get to use it too - even if they don't like him.

Makes me sick.

look at how all of her

look at how all of her questions are geared toward leaning towards supporting the inconsistancy of the president and hit CIA hopeful. Fox is just as bad as CNN or any of them, it is all a joke. I know it for sure. Oh but rand if we don't put up with him saying we can missile cities and cafe's inland without trial or jury then won't you be hurting our natural security if we must wait?? and he is THREATENING to filibuster.. its a THREAT!

Rand answers well. I like rand I think he would make a good candidate.

No kidding. You are right;

No kidding. You are right; the best part follows. I really like this guy. Thanks!

"could" ?

Should be "...will lead to targeted killings of American citizens on U.S. soil." If Nap doesn't run, Rand's got my vote.

It may just be me but...

...I am starting to notice a fundamental difference of the demeanor of comments posted on the dailypaul between people who have been here for 5+ years and people who have only been here for 1 year or so. A disconnect of sorts. Anyone else?

Just curious, where do you

Just curious, where do you think the disconnect is? What do you think the difference is in poeple that have been here for 5 years compared to less than a year?

IDK

Maybe I'm just getting older now and my passion is not as out in the open as it used to be. Or maybe some ( not all of the newer members ) are still in the process of UN-plugging from the propaganda they have been forced to eat almost every day of their lives. To me, understanding what Ron Paul stood for is to understand human nature it's self and that no one can legislate or force people to change who they are but rather, understand that people will be people and that our rights end at our nose. Just two days ago I was reading a comment on a post about Gun Control legislation and the comment said, " Did they push the pot agenda with the intent of making people lazy enough to accept this horsecrap? " by distoare sound. I had to take a step back for a moment because it came at me from left field that this was even a thought in someone's head, let alone a comment on the dailypaul. Now, I know that everyone has an opinion and I am fine with that but it just struck me as odd that anyone here would say that. In fact I felt compelled to reply, " Ok, I just need to say ... if Pot makes you lazy then spoons make you fat and guns jump out of safes and kill people left and right. Damn, UN-plug from the propaganda already. " - http://www.dailypaul.com/275173/government-pushes-annual-ins... - Anyway, that was my take on it. I guess my point is is that, I at least, see a bit of a dis connect with people who have been here for some time as opposed to those who are just now joining. Perhaps I was the same way in my on going learning process of what it means to truly be free. Thanks, LIBERTY2ME for the reply. Hope that answered your question.

I was just curious I'm sort

I was just curious I'm sort of new here and am still putting it all together. I have my hot buttins when I have to speak out, but for the most part I keep quiet and read and learn. What I like most about the daily paul is the comments. I have found that most of my educaton is from the poeples comments after an article even more so than the article itself. I'm still careful, not to beleive everything I read, but by far have learned concrete things form the people's posts here. So I was just wondering how you felt things have changed. if you have been here for 5 or more years and feeling that the peoples posts are drifting from the good message, that would scare me. And if you did feel that way, I would want to learn how. Not sure if this is making any sense, but I have been fooled by many a mainstream and want to stay centered in my new found beliefs and education here at the DP.
The DP is not my only place of information that I use, but it is a big one.
Thanks

Then you are in the right place.

What I mean by that is that I too, learn most from the comments. The Daily Paul is my first stop everyday before work. "First Stop" to imply not the only stop. Like you I am still learning, everyday, learning all I can. Reason, logic, emotion, they are all part of it. Like I said before, I think that maybe that persons comment was, as you put it, one of "my hot buttons" and they pushed it just right. Ironically, 7 years ago, I would have been on the same train with them screaming the same thing. Switching between channels some 6 years ago, pissed about Bush and the general direction of our country, I stopped on a channel to see a small, quiet, humble man in an interview with non other than George Stephanopoulos( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COsQgwBsMjA ). The way that man handled himself and the way ol George was treating him it, well, pissed me off. So I learned more about Ron Paul and thus began the change in my mind.

You are not wrong.

I've been here 5 years (first three and a half under a different name) and it is an amazing coincidence, isn't it, that the most virulent Rand-haters have only been here for about a year.

I'm amazed that the pressitutes even give Rand...

...5 seconds to express his views. Why is he on the show in the first place?

Why not a black out now?

To answer my question, to give the public the illusion that there is a dissenting vote with power in the Congress. Rand may (and IS!) a good one, but does he have any power to do anything good? To pass any meaningful legislation? Or to stop ANYTHING TPTB want passed?

I don't think TPTB believe they can be stopped. So they let the peasants THINK there's a chance.

And they may be right on a national level. BUT, on a local level (state and county), we CAN make a difference. Contact and get to know your local sheriff, for starters! Influence him!!
