How To Nullify Police Checkpoints for $50 (UPDATED) Cops Arrest Sign Wavers

Memed for your sharing pleasure: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=542479075786211&set=...

This past weekend (Jun 2012) in the Philadelphia suburb of Willow Grove, eight courageous liberty activists nullified a suspicionless sobriety checkpoint. With their investment of $50 and a few hours of their time, they rerouted drivers around the massive multi-agency boondoggle to safety. During the first 3 hours, they prevented the police from making even a single arrest.

This has been posted on the DP before, but it didn't get much notice. I think it's a simple way to nullify any police checkpoint or speed trap.

Here are some additional links:

Thanks to fonzdrew for sharing these videos of some police officers harassing and arresting sign wavers who attempt to do this:

Also, here's a video posted by BigMikeTheTerror of the actual even depicted in the original image, though I'd recommend turning down your speaker volume before watching. The audio is really loud when they yell to warn drivers:

I think

they should spend $5 more and get some sticks to attach the signs to so they can leave them stuck in the ground and not get arrested.

I remember when anyone who said "these checkpoints were only the first step to a police state" we're crazy. Not so crazy now, eh?

Liberty is on the march, tyranny is on the run!

i love this

Good Job.

These checkpoints

These checkpoints are obviously unconstitutional and reminiscent of East Germany and the like. I've argued about these with a friend of mine who's a cop and he claims that because they are "announced" in the newspaper with date, time, and purpose, they are consistent with the 4th amendment. Of course the 4th Amendment requires the target be a specified INDIVIDUAL, not some indiscriminate dragnet, but this point is lost on him and most.

When I lived in the Bay Area of California, I had to pass through these things maybe once a month, and being a younger guy, I ALWAYS got pulled over, had the damn flashlight waved over my eyes as I was asked if I'd had anything to drink. Always a suspect until proven innocent. That's the American way.

Anymore, the newspaper

is where you post announcements that you don't want anyone to see.

I never see police

I never see police checkpoints is there a site that complies where cops do check points the most?

Damn what a good idea if it's not already being done.

Maybe an app that allows people to send checkpoint locations via their phone gps to a site that posts it. lol

That could work for TSA searches as well.

I think a few people are trying to do it regionally...

The police are required to publish the checkpoint locations I believe, but this person seems to not like that: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Stop-Publishing-The-Locations...

nice...anyone gonna start that app?

I'd have no idea where to start that. It would be a great idea

for someone with those skills. You're welcome to run with it if you do know.

Larkin Rose & TurboTax

Every year when I fire up turbotax I play a tune I saved years ago attributed to Larkin: "take your money back"

I keep it looping no matter how many hours it takes to do my taxes.

" ...the politicians state and fed will keep your budget in the red
a billion here, a billion there, there goes your so called fair share
they keep demanding more and more 'cause spending is so fun
and don't you dare complain or you're the greedy one
and when they spend more than they stole,
you're the one who's in the hole
they plunge us in to debt with glee
and send the bill to you and me...
tax and tax and spend and spend we'll all be beggers in the end.....
and even when your die they take a cut...

Wish I had a link to share but I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

Willow Grove or Upper Moreland as the township is named

is the same place where, when the Vascar was in it infancy, a woman was going down Rt.611 and saw the tapes across the highway. She skidded across them yanking the apparatus right out of the one cops car. She was arrested and charged with about twenty counts, the worst being "destruction of public property". At trial a bunch of photos were entered into evidence of many skid marks all around where these cops had lain their trap. Case dismissed. This was about 25 years ago, I doubt very much a judge would let any body walk today. Upper Moreland is also a place where a cop named Palmer pulled over a 19 year old girl, took her to the parking lot of the Catholic Elementary school and blew her brains out with a 357 magnum. Claimed he had a bad day. He was present when the coroner lifted her body to discover a cops badge underneath the body. All eyes shifted to Palmer as they realized we wasn't wearing his badge. True story, check it out.

Willow Grove is where my sister lived

One who won't speak to me because I warned her about SSRIs, and that we were on the verge of a police state. She has moved to Hatboro now. Are you local? Bryn Athyn is the little town where I have a ridiculous amount of family, most that I never met.

I grew up in Warminster

but bailed from that area of the state 20 years ago. I have family in Hatboro also. I recently was in the area for a funereal and showed the Cathedral in Brynn Athyn to some relatives from where I reside now who had never seen it. They were pretty impressed. Pitcarin's and the Ashplund's wield an incredible amount of wealth and power through the Swedenborgian's.

Yes, they do.

It is Pitcairn, for what it is worth. Oil money.

Actually the Pitcarin's

made their fortune through owning Pittsburg Plate Glass. At one time and for quite a long time every automotive piece of glass was manufactured by them.

After oil

My mother dated a Pitcairn for a while, got to fly in the prototype of this:

I completely forgot

about the aviation aspect of their lives. The auto gyro was an amazing contraption with the lift blade being totally unpowered. The postal service actually used it for rooftop take offs in cities. I'm fairly sure I've read the following in "The Smithsonian". Pitcarin designed the blade that every helicopter in creation uses. He solved the problem of the blade torque pushing on one side and pulling on the other which caused the machine to flip over. The government saw fit to assist a gentleman named Sikorsky to copy the mechanism to undercut Pitcarin's patent on the blade equalizer. The case was finally settled in favor of Pitcarin in the 80's.
Ironically his air field in Horsham became the Willow Grove Naval Air Station which is now used just for reserve training. I remember many times as a youth going there during open houses to view the Blue Angels as they preformed. During those days the base was incredibly busy. They no longer hold open houses, the last one held featured a kid getting into a jet fighter and releasing the ejection seat with the canopy closed. Quite a mess.
