China Bans Reincarnation Without Government Permission

"In one of history's more absurd acts of totalitarianism, China has banned Buddhist monks in Tibet from reincarnating without government permission. According to a statement issued by the State Administration for Religious Affairs, the law, which goes into effect next month and strictly stipulates the procedures by which one is to reincarnate, is "an important move to institutionalize management of reincarnation."

Now, this is HuffPo quoting MSNBC and the MSNBC link is dead, so it may be total BS, but still good for a chuckle and / or palm to forehead moment.

When it’s my turn to go to the other side, I think I’ll opt out of the deluxe round trip ticket and just go one way.
