Glenn Beck apologizes to libertarians, begs them to welcome new people into the movement

Glenn Beck is upset about how he's received by libertarians. He says we're unwelcoming to newcomers and compares some libertarians to Nazi's. He even goes as far to apologize to libertarians for not knowing about liberty sooner... he's begging us to be nice and teach him and everyone else about liberty.

"Libertarians, I'm begging you... please... see the opportunity you have with 30-60% of the nation... people will come your way."

Glenn Beck famously once called Ron Paul supporters terrorists. In spite of that, he makes some good points about how we treat new people like him, who used to not agree with or even be downright mean to us. I was one of them. This is worth listening to.

This guy is a total FRAUD

He has not one ounce of credibility and will drag down any movement that he is associated with.

I Welcome ALL With Open Arms, EXCEPT glenn beck

beck is another hating, snot-nosed cry-baby, which reminds me of boehner.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

Granger - Your comments are too whacked-out to respond to...

...in an intelligent manner.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

Zionist sycophant

Has there ever been a more overt Zionist lackey? Yeah Glenn, kissing ass to Zionists will get you a high-paying media position, but it won't get you far with the Liberty movement... you see, we don't like killing children.

Okay, most are welcome.

"Libertarians, I'm begging you... please... see the opportunity you have with 30-60% of the nation... people will come your way."

But you were eighty sixed a long time ago, now go away Benedict Arnold.

I believe you must take a person at his/her word.

If Beck is TRULY sorry, then he should be a welcome addition to the liberty movement. However, in order for me to trust Beck, he would have to answer THESE question to my complete satisfaction.

"Are you willing to renounce your past condemnation of 911 Truthers, including your deliberate ambushing and destruction of Debra Medina's goubernatorial campaign? Are you willing to do MORE to condemn George W. Bush's actions after 911, in that Bush NEVER fired, asked to resign, demoted or dismissed ANY of those YOU admit behaved incompetently? Are you willing to condemn George W. Bush for refusing to testify under oath to the 911 Commission? Are you willing to DEMAND that George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld be prosecuted for war crimes, since BOTH and international tribunal AND and Joint Congressional subcommittee found either some or all guilty of torture?"

If not, Glenn, screw you.

Just a year ago

This douchebag endorsed rick santorum over Ron Paul. As a matter of fact Ron was the last on his list..

to a degree yes

However, explaining, teaching, and showing beliefs in the ideology can be frustrating because the people who really get into politics and only know that there is a republican and democrat party are most often than not extremely stubborn. Things we would easily recognize as obvious atypical neocon or liberal/progressive ideas aren't always willing to change their minds about things. Sometimes it's subconscious, and they don't realize it.

However, I try to keep him at arms length. If he's really do intelligent, and so dedicated to libertarian ideas, then he needs to sit down and think why we perceive him as an outsider still. Can't help those who can't help themselves sort of mentality.

P.s. necromancy alert. Why was this revived? Lol.

Homeland security statement: patriotism is now considered terrorism.
I love www.isidewith.com shared it with everyone I know. If anything they realize its not just a red and blue idiot running for reelection.

God bless you Glenn Beck!

The Bible teaches me to love even my enemies! Although I for one has NEVER looked at Glenn Beck as an enemy of mine, - I am reminded of those words when I read some of the downright HATEFUL remarks regarding Glenn Beck in this post. I have NEVER agreed with Glenn 100%. Never! But I agree with very much of what he says and what he stands for. And in regard to what he just said in this video, - I am with him all the way. Simply because it is the ONLY way forward.

Some of you HATEFUL and stupid individuals here on DailyPaul.com, seems to forget that the way you express YOUR opinions and HATE, for sure as I am writing this, NEVER would be condoned by the man you pretend to fight for, - Ron Paul himself. And in my opinion, that makes YOU a bad Ron Paul supporter.

The core of Glenn's message in this video is something we ALL should embrace if we ever has a hope to save your country. However, if you just keep on insisting on your right to HATE and never forgive, - you work right alongside your enemies, - those who are FOR everything you are against. You even are an enemy of Ron Paul and his ideas, as your stupid HATE will help making sure that those ideas never stand a chance!

Maybe he is in earnest

But he has already missed the most important lesson.

It's about "walking the walk" NOT "talking the talk".

The concepts are quite easy to work out, even for Glen. ;)

Just open the box and see

Screw Beck...

Beck is a nit wit and has done nothing but work against the liberty movement.

In the 1 in a billion chance that Beck does want to advance the cause I would say...Jump in, get in the back seat, STFU and one idiotic peep out of your ass and you're going in the trunk.

I work part-time with my

I work part-time with my uncle and cousin, and they leave talk radio on all goddamn day. Judging from his recent shows, I can't say that Glenn Beck has come any closer to accepting the Non-Aggression Principle as the foundation of liberty.

Example: his comments about shooting the hunger-striking Guantanamo prisoners in the head.

Sorry Mr. Beck, but firstly this isn't a collectivist movement. "We" don't accept anybody, because we are individuals and we accept that we can't mandate who someone else should like or agree with. Secondly, any individual who does (correctly) identify themself as libertarian or AnCap won't, under any circumstances, accept someone as a fellow libertarian who does not believe in the NAP.

He wants to be called a libertarian? Let him earn it by applying the logic of the NAP across the board, not just on economic issues while advocating intervention in our personal lives and in other countries. Let him preach libertarianism correctly and consistently, and we'll forgive because we are not hateful. But we are smart enough to know when someone is or isn't being genuine.

OK - Here's my response: F.U. BECK YOU ARAB-HATING...

There are few I hate worse than the Ron Paul-hating Glenn Beck.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

He doesn't hate Arabs

He hates Islamists that hate the USA and Israel.

He hates ARABS. This week I heard him say that if he had to...

...wake up every day and hear that (middle eastern) music, he'd want to kill people too.

BECK IA A RACIST, ARAB-HATER who uses the idea of Muslim extremism for his hate platform.

Burn in hell forever Beck.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

I'm not a fan of Beck

Beck has made his hate very clear.. he does not single Arabs out as being Islamic haters of America.

Beck hates Islamic, ALL Islamic haters of America. Maybe that includes you?

Dear Beck, Please refresh your memory of numbers 8 and 9

8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

YOU my sir, should really STOP worrying about being accepted and START making a list - many on here have already given you a good starting point for what is going to be a VERY long list - requiring great amounts of time on your program(and for that matter, your entire network).

I sense you are much a libertarian in the same fashion you are a Christian - sounds good on paper - but really doesn't fit into your day to day actions(nobody claiming to be a follower of Christ should EVER say something as evil as your ascertain that we should kill those in Gitmo).

I do agree libertarians need to be more excepting of those who have woken up, however, I don't find you to be anywhere near awake.

How about inviting someone on this very board to have a conversation on your show? Exactly.

At this point in time I don't

At this point in time I don't trust GB but if he were to apologize to Debra Medina and Ron Paul and start promoting them and others like Larken Rose and Stefan Molyneux I would reconsider.

What he doesn't take into consideration is that he has a powerful voice and when he is wrong about something it can have a very negative impact on the freedom movement.

Media Personalities

They do a lot of things for ratings and followers. That is about it. This whole idea of Glenn Beck becoming a libertarian, and it being some risky decision, is ridiculous. The CEO of Home Depot is a libertarian who supported Ron Paul, and he is still a successful businessman that makes millions of dollars.

Beck is just looking for more followers and another base. Maybe his agents realize that his positions lend himself, already, to that demographic, and it will improve his ratings. Maybe, he himself, really now is a libertarian.

Either way, who really cares that much what one person thinks? I mean, ultimately, these people are having an escapade with narcissism. It is different when someone like Michael J. Fox goes on and talks about a disability. This is something that, because he has a platform, he can make a positive change.

With someone like Beck, they are just looking for more followers. More followers means more deals, more television spots, more books, and more notoriety. We're not exactly dealing with a Noam Chomsky or a scholarly person here. Why does their opinion hold so much weight?

I Never Liked That Son of A B*itch!!

That S.O.B. lies all the time.

He's a sick bastard!

I agree with what Beck just said

Before Ron Paul, I was a very right wing, hawkish Republican. I believed all the wars were for America's security. I probably would have supported the NSA. It took Ron Paul to open my eyes to the truth. I listened to Beck's show when it was on FOX. I saw him slowly coming around to Ron Paul's ideas. For me, it took a long time to understand, and it took my learning from other resources, what our government did to other nations before I was ready to understand and accept what Ron Paul said about our foreign relations. Beck was already there with most of what Ron Paul said about economics and much about internal policy before he left FOX. This has been a slow evolution for him, as it was for me. People who think don't just whole-heartedly jump onto the bandwagon at first glance. They think it through, may not agree 100% ever, but will agree most of the time on the big stuff.

Can this nation come back to liberty under a Chris Christie presidency? If you agree with me on that, you might consider being a little more welcoming of Beck. He had what? a couple hundred thousand people show up at his D.C. Restoring Honor rally? Millions more couldn't go but watched it. Do we want those people to start to explore and understand the principles of freedom and the reasons to support Rand Paul or shall we toss them out the window and give the primary and probably the election to Chris Christie? Personally, I don't think this is the time to throw our support to another RINO, whether directly or by failing to be willing to teach a whole new audience. The war against both Fascists and Socialists begins with educating everyone who will listen. Far better to get Rand Paul to appear on Blaze TV and start educating many, many people who will go out and vote. Don't hang your hats on being a different brand of elitist. Every vote counts! Every recruit for the Constitution counts!

Apologize to:

The Gitmo detainees you advocated shooting

& Debra Medina.

I loathe Beck

BUT on this issue He is right!

You can't call out collectivists and then turn around and act like them.

Being willing to listen and understand and point out common ground as well as error IS what it means to be free and libertarian.

Be ok to live in some of that tension. Don't just blow people off and hang with your approved crowd that puffs you up.

I am in no way endorsing Beck or his ideas. What I am saying is you will never have influence to affect society if you don't start reaching out to other people and helping them see why Liberty is in their best interest.

"Once you become knowledgeable, you have an obligation to do something about it."- Ron Paul

being open and welcoming to someone you have never

had any experience with is quite different than being nice to someone who has repeatedly sold you out. Cry me a river Glenn.

I'd rather have a bottle in front o' me than a frontal lobotomy

Glenn Beck is...

A lying sack of ship! He'd suck coc# for ratings!

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”
- President John F. Kennedy

So stupid

I am very receptive to anyone that disagrees with me. I welcome a intellectual debate on any topic as it just helps me understand my thoughts even better through defending them.

I would never welcome anyone who showed a lack integrity and basic courtesy. On both these points GB is a life time offender.

Surrounding yourself with low integrity people will never help you move forward.

You will rot in h-ll GB - I will not be anywhere near you when your time comes.

ps hey OP are these little nuggets of reason really worth the watching hours of GB?

Liberty = Responsibility

Too late, Glen.

Way, waaaay too late.

You've dissed Dr, Paul too often. Besides, you are unstable. The only consistency you demonstrate is your narcissistic ego veiled by false modesty, just like Hannity, Rush, and Levin.

Conscience does not exist if not exercised

I hope it's not

the schnapps talking (whining) hiccup

The free market

of cause and effect (the facts of reality) has determined/presented that Beck does not have a trustworty reputation at this time, not you or me.

That can change when it actually does, but its always only what it is.

As a libertarian...

(I just realized the post below mine says the same thing, basically. Der. My bad)

...I'd tell him he's free to be whatever he wants to be and he doesn't need to apologize to, like, get along, or associate in any way, with anybody in order to be a libertarian. Just change your behavior and beliefs to match that of those who value liberty and those who act in its name.

In other words, just be a good libertarian and don't worry about getting people to like you; when you're a true libertarian, Glenn, you're likely to have less friends—or, at least, more enemies—than you do now, so you should just focus on thinking and behaving like a libertarian, instead of focusing on who does or does not like you.

But if you want to make a living, right now, by sitting around talking about the world through the eyes of a libertarian, I guess you'd have to do it the fast way: begging for acceptance on good faith alone, instead of taking the time to earn your following.
