Glenn Beck apologizes to libertarians, begs them to welcome new people into the movement

Glenn Beck is upset about how he's received by libertarians. He says we're unwelcoming to newcomers and compares some libertarians to Nazi's. He even goes as far to apologize to libertarians for not knowing about liberty sooner... he's begging us to be nice and teach him and everyone else about liberty.

"Libertarians, I'm begging you... please... see the opportunity you have with 30-60% of the nation... people will come your way."

Glenn Beck famously once called Ron Paul supporters terrorists. In spite of that, he makes some good points about how we treat new people like him, who used to not agree with or even be downright mean to us. I was one of them. This is worth listening to.

Glenn Beck does not need an approval or acceptance

from DP readers, Justin Amash, Alex Jones or Ron Paul himself.

What is needed is for Glenn and his followers to accept the basics:
1) Government should be separated from economy; State Department & Pentagon should be driven only by rational concerns of the defense.
2) Budget should be balanced; no money supply and interest rate manipulation.
3) God wont help maintaining capitalism and free society, rational morality will; religious morality sacrifices individual man for universal neighbor, same as progressive morality that sacrifices for "common good."

So Glenn Beck does not need to seek our approval. He is free to support Israel and be indifferent to flouride, chemtrails, conspiracy theories and GMO food. He still could be a perfect Libertarian.

I wonder how much he got for his soul?

Words and Deeds

He supported Romney and denigrated Dr Paul. I am no one to decide what he calls himself.

But let him act, think, and speak as a libertarian for a while. And lets his efforts bear fruit.

Until then...i have a hard time forgetting what he has said and has done.

I agree that he should be forgiven.

I just watched that whole video and I think he is correct.

If you told me 5 years ago to not vote for Obama, I would've laughed at you, but I learned from my mistakes, and Libertarians currently embrace me. Now, nobody questions my political beliefs, because I've changed.

Also, in pragmatic terms, Rand Paul is our best option. The idealism of pure Libertarianism is a noble thought, but in the real world, we are not going to see it happen overnight. Rand is the only one I can think of who would have a reasonable shot in 2016 and would actually make a difference we could all appreciate.

And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

Where's the love?

Show some love to GB, even if it's some tough love like asking him to explain why he called us terrorists.

I didn't ask the libertarians to let me join their collective.

If he wants to be forgiven then he should enumerate his sins.

Free includes debt-free!

Flip Flop

Beck is like a fish outta water. He flips and flops as much as Obama and Romney.
Put him back in the water at your own risk

This is Glen trying to cut us from our own herd

He wants to be a libertarian, he wants to apologize, but those Ron Paul libertarians are Nazis.
Go lick your master's boots, Beck. You are a transparent shill to anyone who truly loves liberty. Libertarian ideology is not a club that you can join or that can blackball you, it IS a group of individuals. We figure out who we trust and who we don't. You, we don't.
Bottom line is this, Beck:
Non-aggression principle. You in?

I'll accept anyone's apology

if it is sincere.

Okay wow... just watched it yeah. So he's saying that we should accept him as a libertarian because it's about individuals being free to have their own views.

Yes Glenn... but they MUST be LIBERTARIAN views!

Now they are going to take the label "libertarian" and do the same thing to it that they've done to "militia," "patriot" etc... just keep taking our words and changing them around - no thanks Glenn.

I do not hear an apology here btw...

He actually turns around and tries to make US feel bad for chastising him instead of just being straight up and saying "okay - I got that one wrong my bad I apologize... let's move on."

Note to Glenn: The thing that really PISSES us off Glenn... is when people use the word to describe themselves but DON'T KNOW WHAT IT MEANS! If you read this... feel free to msg me an keep me on speed dial before you make any decision... I'll give you a thumbs up to let you know if it's the libertarian one.

Wonder what he's been paid to do now?

Not just verbally bash and badmouth us, but infiltrate us with his venomous forked tongue insincerity and finish us off like he did with Paul, and Medina?

And now he's Oh so sincere?

I'd trust a jonesing broke crackhead alone in the Smithsonian Institute with security personnel off for the night before I would trust Beck for a nanosecond.

The guy carries a knife, and walks behind you in wait. He's proven that numerous times too.

Why so pessimistic?

GB might be covertly trying to destroy the movement but he might be sincere. We all had to have our eyes opened at some point.

I was

I was a neocon for a long time, it took a lot of beating my own brain for me to see it. It didn't happen all at once either. I'm willing to give even Obama the benefit of the doubt, if they apologize and are willing to try. They have to earn trust though.

Beck is not waking up, he has kjnown the score for a LONG time

Like I said above: It is about the non-aggression principle. Beck will never embrace it.

So he's like 65% Libertarian.... that's progress!

GB talking about liberty is good. That makes other people think about liberty and learn about it. Even if they get a misguided message most of us know what freedom is down deep. If anything a lot more people are being introduced to the word Libertarian and that can only be a good thing.

Unless he makes warmongering

a fashionable compromise for "libertarians."
I think you are wrong, I think this is a dangerous, slippery slope. Beck is out to gut the heart and soul of libertarianism. Like I said twice before now: Show me a Beck who teaches non-aggression, and I'll show you a fishy willing to give Beck a break.

Oh, and he already replied...

An autoresponse thanking me for loving him, but explaining that I am just one of an adoring throng, and he may or may not actually read my email. Pfft.
"Thanks so much for the email. Due to the volume of mail this may be the only response you see.
While I do not always see it in a timely fashion I do try to read all of my mail. However, I average over 4000 letters a day and there is no way I can respond to most letters.
I am glad you are watching/listening and even though you may not see a response, I want you to know that I am listening as well.

Thanks,
Glenn Beck

Done.

"A Ron Paul libertarian can sum this up very succinctly for you.
It is about the non-aggression principle. If and when you embrace that simple tenet, I will believe you are a champion of liberty. I hope you will find Lew Rockwell an acceptable source for libertarian philosophy:
http://www.lewrockwell.com/block/block26.html

It is also a commandment of Christ:
"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." John 13:34
Not a suggestion, a commandment.

I was not wherever your contact was, but had I been, I would have snubbed him. I think you are a shill, trying to co-opt the libertarian movement and make it part of the warmongering machine that the OBushma years have been. Prove me wrong, please. Use your soapbox to teach non-aggression."

Awesome

word up fishy, nice one!

As far as shills go, how do we know Ron/Rand and the rest of them aren't shills also? I don't believe so, but how can we know?
The Government corporate banker MIC...etc crime network doesn't exactly allow people like Ron Paul to live. They silenced the Kennedys so why haven't they silenced the Pauls?

For all I know Glenn Beck could destroy the entire movement but I believe he is a good asset that will help push the message in the GOP. He writing a book titled "Agenda 21" that you might like.

Why hasn't he been silenced?

It's just a question. I don't think Ron Paul is a trying to discredit us or whatever Glenn Beck is accused of being but I don't disregard it as impossible.

Not sure what relevance your

Not sure what relevance your question has to the topic, but Ron Paul hasn't been silenced by dark forces because there's been no need to do so. He's still wearing a tin foil hat in most mind controlled minds.

Welcome him if you want, but this guy will bring a BIG STAIN

to the movement. Don't EVER forget how they hijacked the tea party Ron Paul started.

Guys, the man is nearly 50.

He knew about Ron Paul YEARS ago...

THAT's how you know he's lying. He says he apologizes for not knowing about liberty earlier? How many Beck videos are there of him SUPPORTING Ron Paul...all the way up until it mattered: the election.

And after a full summer of Fox shows about Freedom - he REJECTED Ron Paul when he had a chance to PROVE that he really meant what he said.

He rejected Ron Paul.
He called us terrorists.

He's done.

He knows his career has to move in this direction - so let him be the insincere windbag he is.

And his radio show sucks ass. There's always something "coming up" - never any MEAT.

He teamed up with O'Reilly.... does anything else need to be said?
