Glenn Beck apologizes to libertarians, begs them to welcome new people into the movement

Glenn Beck is upset about how he's received by libertarians. He says we're unwelcoming to newcomers and compares some libertarians to Nazi's. He even goes as far to apologize to libertarians for not knowing about liberty sooner... he's begging us to be nice and teach him and everyone else about liberty.

"Libertarians, I'm begging you... please... see the opportunity you have with 30-60% of the nation... people will come your way."

Glenn Beck famously once called Ron Paul supporters terrorists. In spite of that, he makes some good points about how we treat new people like him, who used to not agree with or even be downright mean to us. I was one of them. This is worth listening to.

KING DOOZER, use him till you abuse him.

I want beck to be a friend to liberty but beck must learn one thing accountability will be served live if he strays back to big gov neo-con ways. I look forward to beck building alot of trust. He has to build like these guys(doozers if he wants to be taken seriously) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOKBGqgi75Q beck must prove he is the best doozer out there ,beck must be king doozer and show the work to earn that title;)

beck has to earn this trust and show it by action, especially after years of his misleading and straight out lies.

What a whiny TV personality

What a whiny TV personality guy Glenn Beck is. If you want to be a libertarian then BE a libertarian.

There's not some medal you have to apply for to pin your chest.

He wants to prevert Libertarianism...

How hard is it to see that. The very idea that he needs validation should set a bell off in your head.. The fact that he's calling for it and calling us Nazi's in the same breath should send one ringing too.

He's a pervert-er and a division-er.

Galatians 5:1
It is for FREEDOM that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

The r3VOLution will not be televised

Glenn Beck and Ann Coulter are both characters on TV/radio, and the little dramas they put on are irrelevant. This movement will be more successful when we stop acting like spectators and focus on doing the real work of restoring our republic. Don't watch TV, and don't talk about these idiots. You are only breathing life into the spectres they conjure

As Chuck Baldwin's recent article instructed Christians, VOTE WITH YOUR FEET. Shuffle them across the room and turn off the tv. Gary Franchi is doing a NextNewsNetwork broadcast today if you just have to watch something.

you are correct johnpp2, but

many, many people live by their idiot boxes. Its a powerful tool to spread the word.

Google is government.

No. You hitting the pavement.

Is the best way to spread the word. Get to know your neighbors. Be friends with them. Screen them to find RP Republicans. Be better friends with them. Prep and go to your local GOP meetings with them and take it over.

THATS the way to reach the masses. Everyone working their own neighborhood, not fathead Beck, idiot box or not.

sorry glen, but you have to be awake first to receive this information and understand these principles.

However, the reception Libertarians get from the Beck followers on his sites is FAR more "Nazi-like" than anything I have seen from us Libertarians. He needs to change the minds of the people that are already cult followers of his before he comes to us to plead for acceptance. AND he needs to fully understand the NON AGGRESSION principle before he can truly be Libertarian.

Lastly, he needs to publicly apologize to Ron Paul for the awful things he has said and done to him before I believe he isn't just trying to find more followers to fund his 'mission'.

I read the Aquarian Gospel of

I read the Aquarian Gospel of Jesus The Christ, which was written (supposedly) as divinely inspired (like the rest of the regular bible) for the New Age. In it, it explains all the "lost years" of Jesus. He traveled all around to different countries and went through various tests from other religious leaders. I forget what country, but in one, the leader put him into a cell. For days he was given no food or water. Finally one night, part of the wall slid aside and some people came in a secret door. They told Jesus that he was going to be left in there to die, and urged Him to leave with them. They told him they had infiltrated the place, and had befriended the leader, so that now they could come to save Jesus from His fate. Jesus basically said that since they had already actually admitted how deceitful they were, why should He POSSIBLY believe them now?
That was His test, and He was then let out. 'Nough said.

Where can I find this gospel?

Where can I find this gospel? The official gospels do not tell even 10% of the story of jesus.

Don't look up a new age gospel that's ridiculous, BUT....

...there are many apocrypha gospels written both before and just after Christ that are available online that have all the stories. Many of the apocryphal gospels and books WERE official books of the cannon until later decanonized. very interesting.

just google apocrypha or apocryphal.

I actually came to RP because of Beck believe it or not....

I first started loving the constitution because of Glenn's CNN HLN show and how he talked about the constitution and I just loved it that he didn't seem at the time to be a party hack, so due to his influence I heard Ron Oaul I just fell in love that we have a pundit like that and NOW a politician like that?! Wow, lucky me! Then I assumed Glenn would love RP and I remember being sick to my stomach when I heard GB insult PR and condemn him. But I eventually outgrew Beck and followed RP more and more and here I am today. Let us not be hypocrites guys...

Sorry if this has already been posted

haven't read all the comments but heres my take. I believe it was Marx or maybe lennin who said "the best way to control the opposition is to lead it". He's done that with the Tea Party and now he is shiffting to the R3volution.

Ron doesn't want to do the Glenn Beck show. Beck has invited him and Ron refuses all the time.

Dr Paul

Need's not to go on any show to get out the Liberty message. He surely doesn't need Beck or Rush or Hannity Or Levin or Savage. Actually it could be argued that these guy's need Dr Paul more than he'll ever need them.
Dr Paul has ears and probably heard all the attacks they leveled on him recently and in the past. I don't understand their back and forth support of Rino's and establishment type nor do I understand their back and forth attacks on Dr Paul. They are always checking wind direction.
They all are singing the same praises as Dr Paul. They agree with 98% of the good Dr's prescription and in turn my ideals but I can't get past their insults toward Dr Paul and they can't get past taking cheap shots at Dr Paul anytime he makes a statement..
I'd love to hear him on Jerry Doyle's show. And thats about it. Why? Because he's the only guy on talk radio I take the time to listen to and he hasn't let me down yet!

Gilligan's picture

how do you know that?

RP was on his show last year, and was treated respectfully.

Seems to me, in the not too distant past, that the likes of Glenn Beck (hereinafter will be referred to as "Becky"), and his Neo-con princess, Sarah Palin, co-opted the tea party.....destroyed it from the inside out! Becky is trying to get his foot in the door...DO NOT LET HIM IN! He will do the same to the liberty movement. He is a snake in the grass. I used to follow him. I remember when he would put his hand over his heart and say, "I'm really a Libertarian at heart." YEAH RIGHT! Becky is about controlling the message, his website and money. He is part of the Mormon Mafia!!

Beck is Pandering Again

I'll believe the sincerity in his voice when he invites Dr. Paul on his show and actually listens to what our hero has to say.

I posted

I posted in his Fb that very idea. The only way I would be willing to hear out Glenn beck is if he invited Ron Paul on his show and apologized to Ron's face. Then said he had to sit and listen to Ron's message. Until that happens then its all just hot air in my opinion.

"Patriotism is more closely linked to dissent than it is to conformity and a blind desire for safety and security." - Dr. Ron Paul

My thoughts

So I watched GB's rant (apology?) last night. Twice actually because I showed it to my husband, too. I also looked up several of his past rants regarding libertarians and Dr. Paul (because much of that was before I woke up). At best, this apology is half a$$ed and full of condesending remarks, which makes it quite difficult for me to believe it is truly sincere.

I believe they know they can't win without us (even if they won't admit it) and this is just an effort to get us to vote for establishment candidates in the future. I hope I'm wrong, but for me it's going to take a lot more than this to convince me he's sincere... actions speak louder than words so I'll be watching to see if his actions line up with his rhetoric. I don't mind admitting that I've been known to hold a grudge so it may take years for me to be truly convinced... until then I'm just cautiously optomistic.
