FYI about Facebook
Submitted by mauip3 on Sat, 02/23/2013 - 16:27May not be news to every one but it sure was to me.
You should check your privacy setting on facebook. You may think you are just posting to your "friends" but that is not true. I just reviewed my account settings and was a bit disturbed to find that not only all my photos were shared but also everything I had posted and searched for was available to to be found by looking it up on a search engine (like Google). There are settings to fix all of this ( or so they say) but you have to change them, the default settings are to share everything. So much for thinking my stuff was private.

Dump Facebook, use Reddit.
It's more informative, extensive and intelligent. It can be a bit tricky to understand everything at first, but it's worth it. Here are some good subReddits:

The list goes on and on.
It's not just politics, either. Anything and everything you can imagine. Check it out if you haven't already.
Oh, and ignore those dick's laughing at you earlier. Some people can only feel superior to others through an anonymous message board on the internet. For them, it makes up for their own insecurities in the real world ;-)
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.
better idea:
get off of facebook.
I'd rather have a bottle in front o' me than a frontal lobotomy

Do you want other search engines to link to your timeline? "OFF"
Done, paulitic on!
They that give up liberty for security deserve neither.
Just double checked mine..did it the start
of the new year (OFF) first wk of January. But thanks for reminding to the rest of us...
I wonder how long
it will take people to figure out what facebook is really all about?
When the owner of the company is a Bildergerg participant...well, we know that altruism isn't one of the topics discussed at the annual meetings.
The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

Every computer has an I.P., every computer stores activity and keystrokes.
Everything you do is monitored in some way, shape, or form.
and... you quit life now because all things are damned? :) Fu**'em.

'Tis why...
...One concerned with privacy should use Tor.

Can't expect too much privacy
from an intel data-mining operation.

You and me both!
Better late(r) than never!

Putting Facebook and privacy
Putting Facebook and privacy in the same sentence is just laughable.
Our All is at Stake, and the little Conveniencys and Comforts of Life, when set in Competition with our Liberty, ought to be rejected not with Reluctance but with Pleasure.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
You were right. I can't stop laughing.

Glad my privacy is so funny to you
Here is a question ... why are people here so mean??
I apologize, I am sure our
I apologize, I am sure our intention wasn't to come off as mean. To keep things short, if you value your privacy, get off Facebook. It's that simple. Don't bother messing with "privacy settings", just get off and stop posting personal information about yourself. It's funny because it just seems like a no-brainer to me.

Exactly
I was simply laughing at John's comment about FB and privacy being used in the same sentence as laughable as since the advent of computers they have been used to mine data and gain information. Have you not noticed the similarity in ads offered to your interests and previous search patterns when you are web browsing? Duh! All search engines do is continue to refine and intuitively create and document your personal profile, tracking every single transaction and key stroke you make. Sorry, but it is just common sense, not rocket science. As John said, say adios to FB and similar sites if you don't want your personal life revealed.
