Michigan GOP Disarms 2 Activists at Weekend State Convention (VIDEO)Submitted by David A Dudenhoefer on Sun, 02/24/2013 - 12:34
This weekend the Michigan Republican party held its state convention to elect its district and state leadership. The conservatives and Paul supporters were pushing our candidate for state chair, Todd Courser with just 5 weeks of campaigning and little funding until Dr. Paul kicked in some towards the end.
We gained many committee seats, but fell 32 votes short of getting Todd elected. Which just proves that showing up to these things is do vital.
The good news was that we gave them quite the scare as the current chairman clouded with controversy and having donated to democrats in the past, spend over $300,000 on this race to maintain his seat. While Todd spent a mere $10,000.
Onto the shocking part of the weekend, the MIGOP picked two of the worst people to ask to disarm at their convention. First, Tony DeMott, state coordinator of Michigan Campaign for Liberty, second, Phil Hofmeister, president of Michigan Open Carry.
The video captured by Phil, shows the head of the convention center security blaming the MIGOP and then the spokesman for the MIGOP, Carl Berry, blamed the convention center policy. Both are wrong,
The convention center is a public facility and the issue that the MIGOP only applies to concealed weapons, not open carry.

Here is the statement from MIC4L>>
A lawsuit is being considered at this time....stay tuned and spread this far and wide.
This action, while the country watches the gun grab by the left, proves that the 2nd amendment is little more than a talking point for the MIGOP. When asked about this issue, the current and re-elected party chairman Bobby Schostak, defended the actions.
