Sad irony

My mother, who was very pro-Romney and anti-Obama, confided something to me the other day. She isn't very involved in politics except for the abortion issue, and she told me something that I didn't know: under Obamacare, even Catholic schools HAVE to teach about abortion and contraceptives, and prescribe them, and so on. Catholic hospitals, same thing, even having to prescribe aborticides. She was convinced that if America had made the right choice, this wouldn't be happening.

I felt so sad for her. She has no idea that this was pretty much what Romney did in Massachusetts. Under Romneycare, Catholic hospitals also had to provide both contraceptives and aborticides. I didn't have the heart to inform her of that bit of info. It just reminded me even more that when Ron Paul was blocked out of becoming the nominee, all choice America actually had was denied them.

The Church could set an example..

and close the hospitals.

I don't have much respect for the Catholic Church even though I have been baptized but that would be a decision that would get some of my respect.

I try to change people every day. Do You?

It leads to interesting problems

In my early twenties I was told I needed a hysterectomy for medical reasons. I now think I could have been spared the trauma, but the point is, it was not one I wanted, I was told I needed it. My insurance covered me at a Catholic hospital, but they would not do hysterectomies, period. I wound up getting covered at another local hospital, but it was a hassle.
Where I live now, there are only Catholic hospitals available.
Obamacare is just not health care, it is insurance company coercion.

Love or fear? Chose again with every breath.

How can a Catholic school

How can a Catholic school "prescribe" abortions/contraceptives?
