Paul needs to go to Florida RIGHT NOW and not leave until the primary is over

Everyone, I am pleased with the second-place finish, though I am a little sour and skeptical about Romney's blowout win.
Right now, in my humble, uneducated opinion, Paul needs to get over to Florida and campaign as if the fate of the world is dependent upon a win. I know some people say that a Florida win is a tall order, but if we want to win the nomination, isn't that what we need? A win in Florida would prepare us for a happy Super Tuesday. What say you my fellow Dr. Ron Paul scholars?

Maine!
I'm a native Californian, but, I have a dream of moving to maine. I know it gets cold as a witch's breast but its always seemed like a very libertarian, clean, naturally beautiful state. Now with Ron running, I would love to see him win there. If only there. How sweet would it be to have Benito crash and burn in florida only to have Ron win Maine a few days later!
I lived in Maine for almost 20 years
and still spend summers there.
anyway I totally agree with you on Maine. RP should go there now and stay there until the caucus. Maine loves folks of a different stroke. The backwoods are full libertarians and anti-war types. The cities are full of fiscal conservatives. MAINE MAINE MAINE then California. They system there, if I understand it, would really benefit Dr. Paul and his legions of supporters!

Yeah
Florida is winner-take-all, so if you lose, you lose big. Maine has always been friendly and we just have to be vigilant on election days. See them count those ballots!!!
Oh, and help out the da%^ blimp! She needs it
You only need about 4 or 5 states to win
To win, you need only a few key states.
California, Florida, Texas, New York, (some other one).
So yeah...FOCUS FOCUS.
Actually he must stop in
Actually he must stop in D.C. on Tuesday and speak to the 70,000 + voters at the March for Life rally. It will be the only opportunity to speak to the largest crowd assembled at one time during the entire campaign. And no other presidential candidate is scheduled to appear. He could add "Champion for Life" to his bio.
How can Dr.Paul be in 2 places at once??
He can't. But the next best thing would be to name his VP choice now and get that person out there campaigning. This would be a HUGE advantage for the campaign. I suggest Pat Buchanan. He is an aggressive and knowledgable politician.
"If I win the republican nomination, Pat Buchanan is my first choice for VP." That is all RP would have to say.
h-daddy
That's a great idea!
That sounds like a great strategic move!
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He MUST go to MAINE!!!!!!!!
I have said this SO MANY TIMES: Nevada and MAINE!
I've written articles on it - Florida is over-crowded; look what happened in South Carolina.
Maine is an anti-government, gun-loving state!
He must go to Maine NOW! ANd just go everywhere, especially in the North!
They have a LIBERTARIAN-Republican legislator who was inspired by Paul in 1988 to become a Libertarian.
Maine will totally go COMPLETELY for Paul, but only if he actually GOES THERE!
And does a big media ad-blitz. That is what the Nevada voters said - ads are VERY important!
Quit competeing with all the big-whigs! Take the states that know how to think for themselves.
Also, Maine is a CAUCUS, which, other than the fraud that has been proven here:
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/How_the_GOP_is_Deliberatel...
is much better than a primary.
The Nevada caucus was de-frauded by Romney agents preventing Paul voters from participating, and lying to them and telling them that they only could hand in a ballot and leave.
That will not happen in Maine.
I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat pork!
I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat meat!
reply
I agree about Ron going immediately to Maine, that would be an excellent strategic move!
3rd or 4th in Florida is acceptable, but..........
1st or 2nd in California is huge! Dr. Paul must do well out west to have a shot at the primary, however, he is just planting the seeds for a possible run as an Independent. Remember, he is sitting on a mountain of cash with legions of energetic supporters, some very well off financially.
you're in denial - Try 5th in Florida
is 5th acceptable? Well, it really doesn't matter, because that's what we're getting no matter what (assuming Thompson drops out). Forget Florida.
3rd
He aint going third party. Why do people keep entertaining that???!!!
We are gaining enough support to keep us alive past Super Tuesday! Focus on NOW!
The only way we can lose is if we forget we are winning!
i'm with maine
i think maine would be a win for rp before super tuesday. maybe he should spend a couple days in florida then the rest in maine. i think florida will be a make or break state for a few candidates. mainly huckabee, who will lose and go broke (maybe in the hole) thompson might even quit before florida. and if guiliani loses bad to mccain and romney and maybe even RP,giuliani might even give up too.he spent almost all his money there and has sucked big time so far. a loss in florida could be the last, most embarrassing, loss he would want to endure. so i say go to maine and have a gold and a silver before super tuesday. if giuliani drops out then hit new york hard and then maybe another state where guiliani was supposed to do good.
I Tend to Agree With You...
What you are saying sounds like a very good idea. I have heard that Ron Paul will probably do well in Maine. We do need to go to Florida and also push for Maine. The better he can do in the states before Super Tuesday, the more momentum he will have to do even better in all of those states.
Ron Paul for President 2008 !!!
California, not Florida
Listen, the only news out of Florida will be #1 who wins, and #2 how poorly Giuliani does. We can't win the state, and with the reduced delegates, it will be a good state for the others to waste their time and money on. Giuliani is going to tank in Florida, and that will be the news as he drops out.
Dr. Paul needs to get to California, STAT. This state is no longer winner take all, so EVERY distric he can win will get him delegates. California is the exact kind of state where Dr. Paul's message could take hold. California is a very libertarian minded state. FURTHERMORE, the state has been gerrymandered so badly, that the districts are very much skewed in their party representation. We have districts with 10x as many registered Democrats as Republicans, and we have other districts with 10x as many registered Rupblicans as Democrats. This means that there are tons of high concentration of Democrat districts here where changing a SMALL amount of votes will result in winning delegates.
I think he could win here, and whatever place he comes in here, he will get that proportion of our huge delegates. He needs to be here, and he needs to be here right now.
Libertarian State?
California may have a sizable, oppressed, libertarian minority, but to call it a "Libertarian Minded State" is absurd. Calif. is one of the least libertarian states in the Union. There is nothing California politicians think they can't do and no part of your life that they don't think government should be running.
hit the nail on the head
The citizens of this state are brain dead and openly embrace all aspects of the something-for-nothing nanny state mythology. Probably half the population pays no taxes and blissfully sinks the state into permanent debtor status by voting for any bond that crosses their faces.
The last thing people here want is to take responsibility for their own lives.
Nevertheless, it will soon be thrust upon them as the state collapses from the spending and debt they enjoyed during the housing bubble. Which, by the way, is deflating daily.
er...
I meant California Republicans... Aside from the politicians/socialists, most California republicans are socially "liberal", while fiscally conservative... ok with drugs, gays, etc.
The very idea...
...of either Romney or McCain will be chosen as GOP candidates to run for the general election should send shivers up your spine. It did mine. It only guarantees an eventual Democrat win and 4 years sinking this country deeper into a deep recession (who knows, maybe even a depression).

Actually, it makes me throw up in my mouth, just a little. Then a lot.
Then twenty minutes of dry heaves.
Move to Texas
Then run off all non-Pauls and secede from Union. "One Nation Under Paul"
Not Florida and not all his time
RSK Florida lost one half of their delegates. The two states I would focus on like my political life depended on it would be Texas and of course California-- between the two of them there are a whole bunch of delegates.
Florida is not worth the effort.
It is a winner take all State. RP should be in New York, California and Illinois.

definitely worth only so much in resources and time
in that case. He's not going to finish 1st there. It would be nice to be in double digits in a big state just for publicity reasons. Nevertheless, I would agree on that.
He is spending time stumping in Louisiana now, which has not been talked about much here. Maybe there is some surprising strength there, don't know. Others have mentioned Maine also coming up this week.
Ya, curious
about Louisiana too. Agree about the publicity vs winner takes all
We are going to run ads here. See this post:

northern florida, some southern but mostly surrogates
Ron,
Needs to come into northern florida to soften the blow and not finish last.
He needs to get the top of north florida and erode huckabees vote.
He needs to then leverage the cross state communication into where he could win in alabama and send the message into GA to soften results of others again.
If he can win Alabama is important. This is a very good state for Ron to go after. If Fred drops then he has to move into TN.
The rest and bulk of his effort has to be AZ..AZ..AZ, CA, CO and MT. He must take down McCain. Its a great state to do it. The momentum would be huge from this..
Alaska, Hawaii, Maine and other states will do well with limited advertisements and effort without the candidate being there.
Dont Forget About Palm Beach County
Massive County just north of Broward that always turns out big for independent minded candidates. It's mostly blacks and Jews who vote the party line Democrat, but in the Western part of the County there is a huge white population that hates status quo politicians. Pat Buchanan did well here every time he ran and Ron should be able to pick up a number of votes too.
Sorry - he's going to finish last
Hunter is out. Thompson will be out within two days. All the others are currently polling north of 15% in Florida. Who can Dr. Paul beat?
Florida is a complete waste of time.
Polls, Trolls
in the end they don't mean shit!
