GOP Congressman Says Dick Cheney Will Rot in Hell for Iraq War

Huffington Post: "Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.), an outspoken critic of the war in Afghanistan, said at a conference Saturday that former Vice President Dick Cheney would probably end up in hell for the Iraq War.

"Congress will not hold anyone to blame. Lyndon Johnson's probably rotting in hell right now because of the Vietnam War, and he probably needs to move over for Dick Cheney," Jones said at a Young Americans for Liberty conference in Raleigh, N.C. The group is a spinoff from former Rep. Ron Paul's (R-Texas) 2008 presidential campaign."

His comments can be seen at 35:40 in the video below. The speech was very honest and heartfelt.

If you want "liberty" you must think as an "individualist" not

a group-think religionist.

YES YES there's a difference between spirituality and religiosity or churchianity.

An "oath" or a "promise of hell-fire" is not too different than saying "I'm going to pray for a libertarian gov't"

In fact voting and lobbying is part of the insanity -- the "hope" that if you bribe well enough a politician that he will stick to his guns or get "anything" done (in Misesian Liberty Terms) once in office is nothingless than "prayer" -- hoping.

If you guys like the Founders so much, how did they get their liberty -- was it "prayer" or bloody rebellion, treachery, back-stabbing, sneakery.

You guys are trying to gain liberty in the one way that has never worked once in all human history -- by using a tool of corporatism (ballot box) and the repetition of dis-proven tactics (protesting - belly-aching) -- by "civil" means.

In fact liberty has never been attained (not for all people of said lands). Not violently and not civilly (atleast not by the methods we are currently using or that we have used).

Make a list of all the things we've tried to institute a Misesian type free-market -- then put an X or an O by it for "failure" or "success" (respectively).

There should ONLY be "X"'s

There are numerous examples

There are numerous examples where Americans have achieved more liberty through the ballot box, most notably the 13th, 14th, 15th, 19th, and 26th Amendments.

Ventura 2012

Sorry (if I didn't say it before) -- I meant "liberty" in the

Misesian Consumer-Sovereignty sense of the word.

I agree with you "we" (blacks, indians, women, and poor whites) are freer now then we (to degree and percentage by category) were from 1860 going back.

I do not believe "liberty" in the Misesian sense can be achieved via voting and lobbying because the ballot box is NOT a free-market good or service -- it is a corporatist one and can therefore only bring about corporatist type results.

I'm sure certain people are freer under a Dictatorship then are under American Corporatism -- it's how things shake out for the rest of the society (under said Dictatorship) that begs the larger question.

In this instance are blacks-indians-women freer now then they were 1930 going on back -- the answer is 1000% yes yes yes.

And going back for most poor whites (from 1860 on back) is yes yes yes as well.

For much of the last decade, the left participated in activism and protests condemning the Bush administration's wars of aggression, and calling for the President's impeachment. Now a Democrat is in the White House; however, these self-same activists are shying away from impeachment to stop the American war machine.

The radical left was happy to protest the wars so long as they could be labeled "Bush's wars". Now that their favorite community activist is president we see Cindy Sheehan protesting alone.

"Rotting in hell" is a

"Rotting in hell" is a pathetic consolation for failing to hold war criminals accountable. They should rot in jail. Anything less will perpetuate the violation of our liberties.

in the same sentence. Does anyone remember when the invasion of Iraq was being talked about - many said it would be another Vietnam - many said "No Way! we will go in and out - Mission Accomplished".

We have been there much longer than Vietnam and detsabilized a much larger area of the world and who knows how many civilians and soldiers have actually perished.

Awesome congressman. I hope

Awesome congressman. I hope you stand firm with that statement. The state will look to antagonize you but we should have your back. I think when Jones is up for reelection we should hold a moneybomb. It would he a shame to see him go.

Absolutely agree with Jones. The rotted Cheney will burn.

Along with Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Bremer, McCain, Graham, LIEberman, both Bush's, Kristol, Levin, Medved, Beck, Limbaugh, Clinton and every other member of congress who voted for it.

The blood of tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of Iraqis are on their hands.

But unfortunately for Jones, it's on HIS hands too. You can't un-ring that bell.

THIS is why we love Dr. Paul so much.

He DID have the courage to stand strong against his collegues.

Only SIX republicans voted against the Iraq war.

I forgive Walter Jones because he has repented - but I cannot forget.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."

I think your last...

...sentence is key to distinguish ourselves from those who hate people. I would rather Dick Cheney come to recognition of the evils he engaged in, sincerely repent before God and man, and live out his life in true contrition. I wouldn't wish hell on my worst enemy -- unfortunately, the outer darkness will be necessary for many, though.

Randy and his buddy Glenn...

would probably condemn Jones for his statements. I just dont understand the willingness to concede the moral authority to the warmongers. alot of people hated RPs Chris Kyle comments- but virtually noone put them in context of the wars and the Ventura lawsuit.

He supports and trust Hagel

Hagel is a former Defense Policy Insider and CFR member. Hagel also created one of the two voting machine companies ES&S

Hagel is not one of the good guys and this is exactly why they picked him. Anyone who supports and has "trust" in Chuck Hagel is either an insider or ignorant.

Jones is out for me. I think that is why he is talking YAL. He is trying to find those ignorant of the details to make a good sell. Sorry Jone's your credibility is gone for me. I suggest people not believe any opinions and if they are going to participate in voting or politics then you should be an expert on every aspect of everyone one of these people and who they support.

You're giving the CFR thing

You're giving the CFR thing waaaaaaay too much weight. Its relevant but you should look at the totality of the circumstances.

The CFR "thing" is everything.

It destroys American sovereignty and can not just be skirted aside as if having little, to no, meaning.

The CFR "thing" is NEVER to be underestimated.

Ask hitlery, bill, obombya, michelle obombya, george w, and george h w, john kerry, mcinsane, they are ALL members...shall I go on?

NO ONE gets elected as a puppet WITHOUT being cfr.

It is monumental and much of what jfk called a "monolithic society"!

Im a 5 year vet here of

Im a 5 year vet here of course I know all about it. My point is you guys are throwing out Walter Jones because he likes a lesser of two evils guy like Hagel. Its wayyyy too remote. This is like throwing out Ron Paul's whole body of work because a bilderberger, Peter Theil, gave him money. Some people in this movement are so paranoid and such black-and-white thinkers that they forget to judge each occurrence on their core values of what is right and what is not. That is what is important, our political philosophy. Without that you will be blowing around in the wind and turning on your own sooner rather than later. Remember, "Those who stand for nothing fall for anything."

Ventura 2012

The CFR thing

is only a small part of Hagel's very inside and disturbing background. How can we support any insiders anymore? The insiders have destroyed America because they won't follow the law. So in the end the CFR thing has exactly the weight it deserves which is very little. The primary weighted issue is does someone follow the law or at least demand that the law be followed and contiunously work to re-establish a lawful government. The only one I have seen come close to this is Ron Paul.

Hagel helped create the modern war state and even had the media dog and pony show come out in full force 'against' him. This dog and pony show was completely contrived and targeted to make Hagel look like someone that would help 'change', hell they were even able to bring the Isreali war pigs to 'down' him. This was all bullshit because Hagel is their boy and will continue to expand the war state and even be willing to send military against Americans.

Wake up people. There is a lot of information on these people but it requires decades of careful study and building professional intelligence dosiers on these peoples' professional lives to really understand the bigger picture and how they fit together. Vote me down if you want. Hagel is a war pig and that is why he was selected by a war pig to be SECDEF. He is one of the leading architects of the drone warfare policy. If anyone here supports Hagel or anyone that supports him then you aren't doing the deeper detailed research on these people required to really understand who can be trusted and who cannot. Of course ultimately it is America's collective ignorance of all of these people that really got us in this mess to begin with. Can't you see that Jones comes out and makes this speech right as Hagel needs the final leg of support?? This is the senate that destroyed our freedom and our country, We are the People who's ignorance of the details is detroying our own freedom by believing this dog and pony show.

The most powerful Law of Nature is Time. It is finite and we all will run out of it. Use this Law to your advantage, for it offers you infinite possibilities...

Its a lesser of two evils

Its a lesser of two evils thing, its not complicated. Hagel, unlike 99% of potential appointees, has shown remarkable free-thinking and courage.

Ventura 2012

Evil is evil

If you choose evil then you when get evil, period. Nothing personal and no offense intendeded but you will eat your words on Hagel by the end of the year maybe even by summer. You will get exactly what you choose; evil...

I hope people will exeperience the full awakening soon. Politics is not going to save us. We need to be taking this fight to courts. These evil government war criminals are getting away with mass murder genocide and treason. We talk about the Constitution here alot but do we really understand how to use it. Our victory and justice will come from exactly where it is suppose if we utilize it; the courts. Imagine a full unhibited awakening in mass that completely rejects evil and seeks justice against those holding the blatant mens rea of treason through our courts with Juries. Play politics and you have to smooze with scumbags and the millions of mindless zombies choosing evil or build criminal cases against these criminals and take it to the Jury to lay bare the war crimes and treason they are actively committing. Either we are going to use our Constitution and enforce the law or choose evil. The choice is simple for me. Justice the lawful way!

The most powerful Law of Nature is Time. It is finite and we all will run out of it. Use this Law to your advantage, for it offers you infinite possibilities...

Cheney has been living outside the US in Dubai

for a while now, probably making sure he is far away from here

I haven't watched it yet...

I am going to watch it a little later tonight but the Iraq war shows how the USA can indeed be the bad guys.

Or he will simply eventually

Or he will simply eventually die and his consciousness will fade away into nothingness... like all people.
